So is Battlefield 4 worth buying now at 50% off? I can run Battlefield 3 pretty solidly but Hardline chugs along at a sluggish pace.
Which is funny because I've noticed literally no graphical upgrades. BF3 runs fine on its huge open maps, yet, BFH runs like Saints Row 2 did on my PC years ago with like 7 FPS on this one parking garage level thing. What the hell, that's on the lowest settings.
Tried BF:H and was pretty disappointed. In fact, it got me playing BF4 again instead.
It was 50% off for me on the origin website but the deal is down now. I did buy it but I got the digital deluxe edition to get the gold battle packs as well as the China Rising DLC. I have uet to play it but I hope it will be anywhere as fun as BF3.
Would've followed you in your steps, if I had a similiar deal pop up Might be the tenth time I'm mentioning this, but the fact that support is going to cease in a few months time really puts me off from purchase It's the reason I haven't purchased BF3 premium, whilst literally all my friends did.
BF4 seems to run a lot better now than it used to. I'm happy about this.
Okay while Hardline ran awful on my computer on the other hand BF4 runs better on my PC than 3 did. In the Campaign at least I've yet to try Multiplayer this is for testing purposes. I uninstalled Hardline since if I want a game of cops and robbers I'll go play Tactical Intervention at least that game is stupid and fun.

The only thing plaguing it was the insanely low tickrate but now thats been fixed too.
BF4 seems to run a lot better now than it used to. I'm happy about this.
The recent "netcode" patch made the gameplay certainly feel better but it stutters so much more now.
Tried BF:H and was pretty disappointed. In fact, it got me playing BF4 again instead.
Exactly same for me. Not only that but I'm having way more fun in 4.
Had HL for almost a week now... playing for my first time today.
So i haven't played BF3 for a good long while now. And because i was bored out of my mind, i decided to have a go at it again. So i find a 24/7 metro, get in the usual 64 playere'd clog that is the A-B section. And it's really just the usual clog of idiots covering behind walls, doing absolutely nothing. Good fucking grief. So the first thing i do, is grab my Type 88, sprint right through the dense retards-shit in the narrow hallway, and just open fire. I deal with 10 people on the first mag, before the group of morons realize someone decided to take action. They're ALL flabbergasted. I do this a second time, taking 8 with me, and i rush to one of the tracks on the left or the right, i don't remember, and suddenly, the clog gets dissolved. Then it's only a matter of minutes, before it's hackerfest, and three players just ruins it. Sigh.
I joined a BF3 normal server one day, it was almost empty because all I saw in the chat feed were people being banned left and right for hacking violations.
Why can't I get the car to move? I hold down W and it revs up and won't move
Why can't I get the car to move? I hold down W and it revs up and won't move
Put it in drive, man.
Put it in drive, man.
And how do you do that?
And how do you do that?
Hold your foot on the brake and move the stick from P to D.
Hold your foot on the brake and move the stick from P to D.
Quit fucking with him.
And how do you do that?
Hold S, which is brake, push your up arrow key until it shows a green D in the lower right of your screen.
Well, I have been playing BF4 and I like it but not as much as BF3, some stuff in BF4 is pretty nifty though, like the shooting, knifing, and grenade throwing while swimming as well as diving. However I have hit the 999 ping problem and it seems to follow me from server to server. I am on the verge of asking for a refund.
wait am I missing something where in battlefield is there a manual car?
wait am I missing something where in battlefield is there a manual car?
Im playing Battlfield: Hardtodriveacar.

Grinded up 100 kills with the MG36 only to discover that the bipod doesn't work :(

I filed for the refund, since I don't know if I actually want to keep playing. I can't find good servers since nobody's playing on vanilla servers, I may have just gotten it at a bad transitioning time. However I really dislike the map designs in this game in comparison to BF3. It's too vertical for my liking, the maps feel too big, too empty, and yet too noisy at the same time.
When I run the Hardline Beta I get a lot of graphical errors that make it basically unplayable. I have a Nvidia 660m graphics card, so it should be able to run it. I'm assuming the game is choosing to run on onboard graphics instead of the graphics card, is anyone else having an issue like this?
Why did they remove supression from BF4, and when did they?
they didnt, its just that it doesnt increase the accuracy bloom and instead sways the ironsights/scope more harshly
And only LMGs, sniper rifles and big weapons create suppression IIRC.
I had my friend shoot 200 bullets at me from a few meters away. There was no sway in my red dot or any visual blurring. Easily explains why a sniper can headshot me without any trouble while I'm shooting at him, and even hitting him. Really pisses me off.

Use whatever control Panel (Nvidea, Radeon) to make sure that applications default to using your specialised graphics card. Don't know if that will help but that's all I can think of.
1Well firstly you kind of already brought that argument up yourself :v: But secondly and more importantly, I don't see why releasing a string of similar games (like you said, BC2 was probably the most audacious case of this, being almost entirely a remake of BC1 on new maps with new lighting effects) means people can't criticize Hardline for what it is; a particularly ambitious mod of a game we have been playing for 3 years now. 2Well, yes, that is a good analogy to make but in this case the hypothetical 1943 is Hardline. 3 Sure but can we get some changes or improvements after three games? I used to be a fan of CoD up until Ghosts so I get what iterative development is like but at this point the only thing that separates BF3, BF4, and Hardline is the various states of bugginess they are in and which one has boats and police cars. 4That's...not how CoD works? You can easily find matches without map pack. The matchmaker will only match you with people you can play with which, like BF3 and BF4, the vast majority of players are vanilla. Battlefield DLC is arguably more "required" though because of the gadgets and tools you get with it. Atleast CoD has the common courtesy of only stuffing one overpowered gun in it's DLC releases. 5 More maps sure, and more weapons maybe (all the weapons in the game were weapons in BF3 or BF4 iirc), most of the gadgets we have seen are simply renames of existing Battlefield gear (love those "breaching charges" which act nothing like actual breaching charges), and a throwaway singleplayer. Except for the singleplayer (which no one is going to play or enjoy) you just presented a perfect case for why this game should be an expansion but instead will be a full price title with a $50 season pass behind it. [editline]16th June 2014[/editline] Personally I'm just going to play Battlefield 4 (or even BF3) until Hardline drops in price after a few months. It's a fun game, but it's not worth the $60-$110 I could spend on GTA V or Far Cry 4 which offer genuinely new experiences.
1I was replying to that video that someone posted that was a "BF:H is a mod of BF4", and just a few pages ago someone posted a preview of 2142 that was "2142 is a mod of bf2". people say the same thing over and over beforehand, and then after the fact people forget about that when they learn they're good on they're own right, with the exception of BF4 because of its catastrophic launch. 2 Good point, it was pretty dumb of me to make a hypothetical when the thing I was making the hypothetical about WAS the thing itself 3 3 and 4 are similar in a lot of ways, sure, but they're also pretty different. 4 has an entirely new faction, new vehicles to go with it, the aforementioned boats, levelution, new weapons, new attachments, new gadjets, and a reworked engine that had better lighting and water and wind. As far as hardline, it again has 2 new factions with entirely different vehicles, new gadgets some old weapons, some of which reuse old assets (which might just be placeholder, we dont know) and some entirely new weapons we've never seen before. plus new game modes and probably a lot more that we don't or that they havent talked about. I think the problem is that this "cluster" of BF games (the Frostbite 2/3 ones) have all been modern, so despite the gameplay differences, they sort of blend together because its the same setting, which didnt happen in older "clusters" (1942/vietnam, 2/2142, and the frostbite one group) because they had varying time periods so even though they were extremely similar if not the same gameplay wise, they seemed different because of the era. 4 I remember having an issues in WaW where I would get put in lobbies where the maps would be DLC maps and when the game started I would just be disconnected. I haven't really played any CoD's multiplayer with a DLC being released since then so I guess that was fixed. I dont see how any of the weapons or equipment in the DLC is superior in anything in vanilla in any way though. afaik most if not all of them are sidegrades from the vanilla weapons, and the equipment is all pretty lackluster. the explosive drone got nerfed to hell and the other drone was no more useful than the MAV, and AA mines seem pretty useless and I never see anyone use them anyway 5 I already talked about whats different in the multiplayer(C4 can be used for a breaching charge btw), but considering Visceral is mostly working on the singleplayer, and Visceral is known for making good singleplayer games, I wouldnt call it "throwaway", especially when we know next to nothing about it. Sure BF4's singleplayer was bad, but BF3's was actually pretty good, so were the Bad Companies single players. I'll say it again. Hardline is a spinoff of BF4. All the previous spinoffs were modified versions of the game that came before it. Same engine and similar gameplay, different stuff in them. Vietnam was just like 1942, but in Vietnam. 2142 was just like 2, but in 2142. 1943 was just like BC, except in 1943. BC2:Vietnam was just like BC2, but in Vietnam. Now Hardline is just like 4, except in a cops and robbers setting instead of a military setting. I dont see how people can love 2142 and then think hardline isnt worth it or just a mod when they're in the same boat. I'll probably buy it when it comes out because I enjoyed the beta and I'm interested in the single player from what little they talked about.
Just had some fun with M249 in a few rounds. I love how it has 200 round magazines so you can just spray around and annoy people.
