for me it depends on what gun and how im feeling at the time, though I dont really ever use the compensator or the muzzle brake. if the gun is low recoil or if its a particularly long range map, I'll switch to the hbar for the extra accuracy , but if its closer range where I dont need that, I cycle between a suppressor, the flash hider or the stock barrel
it's all about the aesthetics, man. i like to run stock everything on certain weapons. i really, really miss the hk53 from bf3. that shit looked awesome stock.

Couldn't stand them at all, and ironsights were perfectly clear also, how come I'm doing decent in matches, handing out medkits, revives, having a >1 K/D, and yet my skill LOWERS ?
skill count is bollocks and has always been bollocks. Score per minute is a better way to gauge how good a person is. (Unless, I guess if they're on TDM mowing fools down, or vehicle raping...) They need to make a new 'skill' combining how well you do with your team-mates and how many objectives you capture/complete.

I've noticed that they only unlock cosmetic alternatives to attachments you'd have by the time you get battlepacks
Friend and I decided to try out that AEN Emblem thing. Looks fucking baller. [t]http://puu.sh/ataIX/c1a7b303fe.png[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/ataN4/8871678b95.png[/t]

There are so many things that I like about Battlefield 4 but I can't bring myself to play it because I don't have any expansion packs, so there are hardly any servers. The ones that are populated are all running 64p Rush or Conquest Large (I like conquest large in BF3 but in BF4 there are WAAAAAAY too many vehicles)

[editline]27th July 2014[/editline] Though when I browse for servers I find plenty with great maps - Hainan Resort for example.
I've played some Battlefield 3 with my bud tonight. Pulled off scores the likes of 7-1 easily My opinion is that BF4 isn't better than BF3 because it feels worse to play. The on-screen action just looks really muddy, hard to distinguish who's who, nowhere as crispy as BF3's. Firefights also feel much less responsive, despite BF4 having three times higher tickrate now. Feels like everything is rubberbanding, kind of like in a haze. As RocketRacer said, in BF3 you could know the exact moment you'd be dropping someone due to how the weapons felt, whilst in BF4 it's all masked behind... something. I'm overthinking this (but I'd still like to hear some opinions)
I'm not sure if it is lag or just a issue with the game itself, but sometimes my short 3 round centre mass bursts just seem to go through people. And this is at close range on a static target. So I'm somewhat confused.
Burst-fire only guns suck ass. I also unlocked Ballistic Shield. yay [editline]27th July 2014[/editline] Also I have this weird issue that every time I first start the game up(first time in a day, not every single new match) my gun models load slowly and weird stuff like this happens:

There is no difference between the traffic settings now, for example.
I've played some Battlefield 3 with my bud tonight. Battlefield 3 is ridiculously more responsive. I averaged about 1.75:1 throughout the history of that game but going back to play with a friend I was regularly scoring 3:1 and 4:1 KDR's on TDM servers, just because my bullets actually worked and I didn't die around feet worth of cover. The real problem is finding non-current DLC servers. All my favorite China Rising servers were dead a few days after Second Assault launched and then all my favorite servers for that one died with Naval Strike.

So starting up the game for the first time will just let you see the very barebones models and textures, I think in order to save on load times as it's loading thousands of models and textures Commonly used practice in video games

Now this is just my experience, but I could be completely wrong. With the Battlefield 3 maps, the combat engagement was closer, in Battlefield 4 the maps feel more open, meaning that naturally you're K/D should be higher in BF3. I know mine was significantly higher. With the Battlefield 4 maps there's a lot of height to it. Most of the time I just pause for a minute trying to work out where I should go, how to get there, or figure out where the enemy would be hiding. (It all feels a bit hectic and mad..) Maybe it's just my play-style but I like to methodically work round corners playing the slow game (I guess that's also why my KD was higher in BF3), only to be shot from a roof-top or shot from some bullshit tiny window that you couldn't see. I think with modes like rush you kind of feel not in control as you're unable to methodically work your way up the map securing the objectives.
4 lacks close quarter maps anyways.
Burst-fire only guns suck ass.
This is actually with a full auto weapon. I just do short bursts as generally speaking, it would be more accurate. :v: [editline]27th July 2014[/editline]
As far as I can tell and going off other anecdotal accounts the netcode fixes introduced in the last major patch seem to have been either completely or partially redacted. I like when games use all 3 dimensions effectively, but BF4 goes much farther than that and actually makes height extremely irritating. People will smash choppers into the ground just to get a chance to get up on a roof and then rocket snipe the enemy team the entire match while you simply cannot respond in kind. It sometimes ruins otherwise decent maps like Siege of Shanghai (thank god that middle building can be knocked down, it's the only thing stopping the map from being bad) and makes ok or bad maps significantly worse (Flood Zone + tower campers = I didn't want to have fun anyways)
the problem lies in the fact that you can access the area either only by chopper or through a chokepoint
I never have any motivation to play 4. I only play 3 and BC2. 4 has more features than 3 but something about 3 keeps me there. 4 doesn't change much from 3 and I don't see much of a point in playing it. My friends want me to get premium for 4 but I told them "I'll just wait for hardline" and they all flip out saying Hardline is a reskin (as if 4 wasn't?). I really enjoyed the Hardline beta but oh well. Hopefully Battlefront won't dissapoint. I've never bought premium but I think I may for Battlefront.
4 lacks close quarter maps anyways.
i love how everyone complained about 3's cq maps because they bitched about not having vehicles and being too cod-ish like, fucker, you can still destroy pretty much the entire map, and have more than a fucking 6v6 with a decent-sized map that focuses primarily on cqc, hell no is it like cod.
how are people good at this game, i can't even get a kill also who thought giving you three mags of spare ammo was a good idea. i run out of ammo before i even manage to kill anyone
how are people good at this game, i can't even get a kill also who thought giving you three mags of spare ammo was a good idea. i run out of ammo before i even manage to kill anyone
Being trigger happy is a terrible habit to have in Battlefield it seems. It's why I stick to 3 round bursts or so, or semi auto.
Vertical combat in a shooter is done well in Tribes or Titanfall, where mobility options for individual players allow them to gain height advantages on enemies. Vertical combat in a shooter done wrong is Flood Zone/Pearl Market where people abuse really poor map design choices to put down a spawn beacon and shoot with impunity until someone on the other team gets frustrated enough to boop them with a helicopter. Related: Holy shit is Pearl Market awful. It's like 3 really bad CoD maps stitched together but one team gets a tank for some reason.
I've warmed up to Pearl Market after learning the layout much better but I'm still not too crazy about that map and it's not worth playing at all if there's more than 32 players. Sunken Dragon I'm also pretty meh about. There's something about its layout that just makes it flow poorly but I can't put my finger on what it is. Lumphini Garden and Propoganda are both great. I love them in every game mode I've played for them so far. [editline]27th July 2014[/editline] I played a lot of Capture the Flag today and it made me really miss the [VGS] voice commands from Tribes. Seriously, practically every multiplayer game would benefit from a voice command menu like that.
I played a lot of Capture the Flag today
I can never find a server for that that is ever populated. Did you just get lucky or are you able to regularly play CTF?
I like Pearl Market. Mainly because I know the map now and love the close quarters combat. [editline]28th July 2014[/editline]
I never have any motivation to play 4. BFH had nothing new except for 1-2 gadgets that didn't matter much but reminded everyone about BF2 Special Forces.
UCAV is fantastic
