he cover system seems buggy as hell. Good thing we had that beta to iron out the kinks.
the cover system sucks just give us a proper lean
the cover system sucks just give us a proper lean
Cover? What cover? It's all immediately blown up by tanks/boats/helicopters
Oh my, just played on paracel storm and my god the other team just had 4 of those gun boats cruising around fucking everything up.
I miraculously was able to scrounge up enough money to buy BF4. I had a question however. Is it worth the extra $10 to get the Digital Deluxe edition or should I just go with the standard?
I really don't like Operation Metro 2.0. It's such a bad map.

Which, in my opinion, are not worth $10.
Well, I have to get used to the BF4 jets now...
so what's the verdict on the game? these last few pages have had some pretty negative feedback bugs aside and stuff how is it improved over bf3? i'm still probably gonna buy the game because i just impulse bought a new video card today but i can't help but feel a little let down by all these comments
I'd give my two cents, but I haven't played because ORIGIN KEEPS GIVING A DOWNLOAD ERROR MESSAGE
Don't your Russians sound like Russians at least? After getting the excuse of "it would cost too much memory" or something it's disappointing that BF4 still has that weird balance of one voice in Russian/Chinese for spotting and another in English with the worst accent ever for everything else. I guess your Americans and Chinese would sound like Russians as well, but it's still disappointing.
Yeah I know that was two pages ago, but it's not like I can get over it anyway. They do sound like Russians. VO in multyplayer is not all that bad, because I don't even know what they did with it. Strange thing, but Russians in multyplayer sound like English-speakers (if not German-speakers) speaking Russian. I guess EA Russia didn't bother changing their "Russian" VO. In SP though, it's horrible. Everything's horrible - you'd think voice actors would know how far they should be from the mic in order not to sound like touching it with their lips? Not the case. You'd think company that does recording (EA Russia) would at least show those poor fucks reading the text from paper what they're voice acting for? Not the case, most likely it was like that "Pac: (angrily) Fuck!" So it's out of sync and completely weird. At least they didn't censor profanity, Russian voice actors swear a lot - that's still pretty unusual to hear. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline]
Can you just save before the end of the SP and get all 3 guns by reloading?
DICE decided to be assholes about it and thrown checkpoint just when the credits start rolling. So you have to replay the whole last level in order to get the achievement, and it's not like ths level is any good gameplay-wise. I'd replay those missions where you have lil' bit of freedom though. Maps are a lot better, more open, less linear, more vehicles present. Colors are much better, sun isn't supernova anymore. Netcode is still... well, you still get killed behind cover a lot. Vehicles now have necessary features by default, tanks have coaxial MGs and IR smoke, jets and helicopters have flares etc. Everall, I feel satisfied with what I bought, and I was very skeptical about it.

Why did they think giving engineers a starting rocket that auto-locks on to any passing vehicles was a good idea..? It reloads incredibly fast and is literally impossible to avoid in any vehicle other than an aircraft which is already traveling fast as fuck

I think its a fair trade, but honestly I wish I had an RPG instead. Does way more damage.
Smokescreen in tank prevents disabling shot, IR smoke breaks lock.
When you're playing on rush and over half of the teams are engineer (carbines are ridiculous ATM and everyone gravitates towards playing engineer right now) it doesn't matter if you smoke screen, as soon as it's gone you're going to have 4+ engineers shooting rockets at you from 200m in your general direction and be dead before you can move because they just twist randomly into your tank. The starter rocket should always be a dumb fire rocket, always. I don't see why they thought otherwise was a good idea
I just got the AUGA3, but damn do I like the SAR-21. It has a slow rate of fire, but it has extremely managable recoil and I love it. So far, the AUG feels very similar with just a bit more recoil and a higher rate of fire. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] SAR-21 reminds me a lot of how the SCAR-L handled in BF3, which is probably why I like it so much.

It does the ridiculous top attack thing only on shots that would have hit the vehicle anyway, ensuring you always do only 25ish damage no matter where you aim. If you want to complain about something complain about the rate of fire or the speed of the rocket.

I've had TONS of moments, more than i can count, where i fired at a tank, it moved probably 20-40 feet, and my rocket just did a weird loop and hit it in the top anyways, where it should have missed by quite a bit. If you fire the rocket while aimed at a vehicle, if it moves within a certain range from where the tank was when you first fired the rocket, i'm not sure what that is but it seems to be at least 20-40 feet, the rocket will STILL hit the vehicle.
So, BF4 low rof guns actually have some advantages to them?
So how do I use xp boosts? I have 4 25% boosts, 2 50% boosts and 1 200% boost. I sort of want to use my 200% with my DMR so that I can quickly get to my beloved SKS. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline]
So, BF4 low rof guns actually have some advantages to them?
hit harder and are more accurate?
Played a round or two and performance is just as bad as beta for me right now unfortunately.
So, BF4 low rof guns actually have some advantages to them?
Good accuracy and low recoil. just overall easier to handle.
Good accuracy and low recoil. just overall easier to handle.
Stop It's like BF3, almost every AR is 0.2. Only difference is spread inc but it resets fast as shit just like BF3. You're right on the SAR recoil though. It looks like they unfucked the recoil, can anyone tell me if those are in degrees like BF3
Atm its extremely finiky with win7 so either you should wait till they fix it, or get win 8 and play.
Reloading times* are way off on win7, yeah. Other than that, I personally had no problems what so ever. Sound goes nutso from time to time, but I've heard people with win8 complain about it. *I meant time game takes to load new map after round ends, for some reason typed "reloading" in. Magnet rocket, just something this game needs alright, on top of all lock-on cancer.
Is the SCAR-H just superior to the AK12? Sure feels like it.
Is the SCAR-H just superior to the AK12? Sure feels like it.
Much less ammo. If you're planning on getting more than 1 kill at a time / having any ammo leftover incase someone runs around a corner, the SCAR-H isn't as good as the AK12. Also, if you reload with ammo still in your magazine it's gone forever. So with the SCAR-H you're basically constantly stuck with very little ammo in your magazine unless you want to discard magazines, in which case you'll run through all of your ammo in only a few reloads

140fps on high and it feels like 25. It's awful.
Beat the single player campaign, I liked it, Enough to probably play it again in the future. Some of the enemy waves felt kinda tedious but I really wanted to keep developing the story. I do like how they didn't go super into the whole war breaking out and just focused on the main characters unlike where every game has to explain EVERYTHING going on.
