Still need 150 pistol kills, 20 jet kills and 2 shotgun ribbons for the other assignment, plus 180 MBT kills for initiate.

Good luck on Jet Kills. The fastest way for me was Rogue Transmission, Attack Jet, and murder the bomber that the enemy commander will spawn. You're bound to get 1-2 kills per time. The rest is bombing LAVs and Tanks.
Would air superiority not be better for jet kills?
Hell no. Most people in jets that crash don't get you kills since it counts as KIA. Then there's the ace pilots that won't give you a fleeting chance at shooting them down.
I can't tell if I'm not very good at this or if there's just enough lag/stuttering that I'm not reacting to stuff in time. I also seem to keep springing back up right after my prone, maybe 75% of the time, getting me killed.

I had the same issue...
So I was staring down a kick/ban on a pistols/melee/PDW only server today because I dared to play Support (only using my pistol--sometimes I need ammo) because "most people use PDW" and therefore it's "not fair".
People are goddamn lucky they're the only pistols/whatever only server I could find today.

I wish there was a shotgun-only server.

That used to happen to me all the time, I found out you can fix it by turning off "Double Tap Forward To Sprint" in "Gameplay>Advanced"
