Anyone else lose their rank? I had just unlocked the scar, and now I'm back to level 1 again.
BF3 was meh performance on launch for me. And now BF3 runs basically perfectly. Frame times are tight as hell and I don't drop below like 70fps on ultra on my machine.
I hope BF4 becomes the same with time.
Mmmh yeah look at those tight ass frame times brother, that shit gets you going...
Anyone else play on a mediocre pc? NOOBS UNITE!
Welp, update made the game run worse for me. Fun!

Were you playing on an unranked server?
Were you playing on an unranked server?
I think I had the filter on for ranked servers, but maybe I did. I had my scar in the last round I played yesterday, so that would definitely explain it.
The stinger blows, you can't kill anything with it.

Point is to use it as deterrence, and not to pop shots too early. I do agree the base damage could be upped a bit. However the fire-and-forget stingers are supposed to be the weakest of AA weapons. The Igla will be stronger but requires you to maintain your lock.

Handheld AA must be a 1hit-disable for aircraft. Otherwise it's gonna be the same weak shit as it is in BF3.

It can do a number on choppers because the increased cool-down for countermeasures and impacts knocking them sideways.
RPG sounds like it's farting just after you fire.
I love the sound lag though- "We have lost objective Echo-Echo-Echo-Echo-Ech"
So apparently Obliteration mode is now out?
Looks like the fix was temporary. Beta runs like shit again.
99-100% CPU and 90-95% RAM load.
Just fuck it.
So apparently Obliteration mode is now out?
Oooh, I can't wait to get home and try it out. The concept seems fun and refreshing; sort of like hot potato mixed with a reverse capture the flag.
Has anyone had any experience on it? I'm curious to hear what people think about it.
Obliteration is the best gamemode I've played yet. It's fun as balls.
Wow I've been misled this whole time. Put my hand on the fan vent, it's cold so I think it's all good. Turns out it's actually the intake and the metal is cold. I reach around and touch the other vent and nearly burnt my fucking hand off.

Get Speccy and see what temperature everything is; if it is way too hot, I recommend a good cleaning or some new hardware!
Balancing infantry VS jets is a tricky thing, made trickier by the retarded idea of vehicle health regen. Pretty much any anti-vehicle weapon should be a one-hit disable on aircraft, or they're 100 percent useless since they'll just fly off and heal. Not to mention making chaff/flares less effective against ground-based AT--unlike dealing with air-to-air, countermeasures work 100 percent of the time since infantry AT has such slow fire rate.
Unguided or wireguided rockets should be an OHKO on any air vehicle.

Also, attack choppers should be more vulnerable to pilot kills. You can unload on those all day with a .50cal HMG and it just damages the vehicle, but apparently one shot with a .303 sniper rifle kills the pilot dead.

I would have added arms with a rifle hadn't there been the stupid limit.

Obliteration is a cool gamemode in theory, but in reality it's just a huge pain in the ass. You need pretty tight teamwork from your team to be able to win, which is something no one ever does.
I don't really see how it's worth it to buy a $40 premium for a $60 game. That's a huge waste of money in my opinion.

No, it's saving money, if you didn't buy premium, you'd have to buy every DLC seperately which would add up to significantly more.
"Have to." More like "pay for every DLC in advance without knowing whether they'll be good."
Close Quarters, anyone?

You don't have to, but if you plan to, you are saving money. And the close quarters was good, it actually provided good close quarters combat if you wanted that.
BF3 and 'good CQC' are mutually exclusive terms. CQ was a clusterfuck and good only for grinding unlocks.

If you don't plan on buying all the DLC's then it's a waste, sure. But if you're like me and know you will buy all DLC's anyhow there's really no reason to not get premium.

Not really, I had plenty of fun on those maps and I don't even care about unlocks.
I've already decided that the only price I'll buy BF4 at is Game+Premium for retail or less.
CQ suffered from painful map design of mazes stacked on top of mazes. The game modes and weapons were fun but I never really played the actual content of the expansion because getting shot in the front or sides while looking for enemies got old quick.
I liked CQ simply because the AUG and the SCAR were my favorite weapons in BF3 and Scrapmetal was my favorite map aesthetically out of all of them
