I had to have a shitty day at work the day KF2 comes out. Fuck my fucking life
Well, what better way to take your mind off the shitty day?
the question is whether the upgrade will be available from the start or not.
Nope, DDE upgrade comes at a later date.
[editline]21st April 2015[/editline]
Unless you guys mean the full retail launch. If so, no clue.

I can't fucking wait to rip zeds apart
Are you guys playing right now? I'm at work so I'm not sure if it's released yet.
It doesn't come out 'til steam does its daily update at 10 PST.
I've still gotta put my 8 hours in today, before I get to play this.
I've been quietly waiting for this to come out for a while now, and kept my hype quite suppressed. Once my first match gets going though, I feel like the hype will assume full control of my body.
I've already played a dozen hours and i'm excited and longing for more zed slaughter
So nice to have a game you can just pick up and play a game or two of, especially a coop game
EA is exciting too, usually you get a full game and that's that but seeing as the game is being modified/added to over a period a months it can keep things fresh. Hopefully other devs will take note of how to do EA the right way
I think I'm gonna wait on buying kf2. Its not like theres going to be anything new since the beta.
easy for you to say lol
I'm going to buy it, then let it sit in my Steam library till they update something new, that and I don't want to burn myself out and the fact that there's potentially gonna be stat wipes has me going nahhh, I really hate losing progress no matter how small it is.

Aren't the perk stats saved locally and all, I wonder if you could be cheap and copy the perk save file somewhere when ever they initiate update that causes those to be wiped and then slap your copied backup save back.
I'm really hoping that when they do wipe the stats, they don't wipe them completely. Like maybe roll back to level 5 and then let people do the rest
or if you'd like to make it complicated, keep 20% of your total XP

I imagine they'd wipe every time to do some major perk rebalancing, say the fiddle with the stat gains and types of perk the berserker has they wipe the zerker.
If they go reset happy, I hope the XP gain is increased drastically.
It's gonna be really boring if they rebalance 20-25 level perks and op! oh no, now you need a solid 6-8+ hours to get back there.

Another game did this (I have no memory of which one) and if you attempted that, the save file also had the version and wouldn't easily work on being thrown into a newer version.

It uses Steamworks just like KF1. However they have made much better security on it; in the beta I was unable to successfully cheat up my levels in KF2 like you could in KF1. If you try to cheat it, it sets you to zero XP.

Didn't seem like it to me. I was able to skip to Level 24 Support in about a whole 2 minutes dicking around on Cheat Engine. You were probably using the wrong address.
[sp]I only wanted to see the "tactical" reloads, and also how secure the game was. I have no intention of doing it once it goes live - I typically only 'cheat' games after I've either beaten them, or am entirely done with them for all eternity.[/sp]
3 hours.
Haven't played EA or even looked at gameplay a lot
my hype levels are immeasurable
Maybe Tripwire will award EA players with some veteran stuff.
Who knows???
Probably lousy hat at tops.

A 32-bit version. Just for whiny bitches like me :v:
kf2 is definitely one of those games where i have no reason to play legitimately and play the grinding game. nobody's got time for that shit
i'll probably end up cheating eventually once they add a shit ton new classes and whatnot, but honestly the beta has me so worn out on the game. i'm not even going to buy it now. i'll probably get it next year when the novelty comes back and there's more content
i'm glad they had a beta but they made the biggest issue with it being that it lasted too long. should have lasted maybe five days to a week max. people are still playing it in fact at this rate people will still be playing the beta for free while everyone else paid for the game gg tripwire

I would thank sort of KF2 for not having this, it finally drove me to get new parts and what not.

Pretty sure when Demolition came out for Killing Floor 1, when I was rank 5 (6?) for all the other perks, I cheated it up to rank 5, because everyone else was playing it nearly 24/7 and I didn't want to bother. I worked from 5 to 6, however, by casual play later.
What I don't get though, is, some people look at hardcore grinding - playing the game for hours and hours, and even cheesing it by playing hacked maps, easier maps, welding/unwelding the same door for hours - those same people turn around and spit at people who just skipped past it by cheating. It's almost like they saw the many hours of not playing the game just to play, and decided to take a shortcut. :v:

titanfall was hands down my favorite game solely because it was MADE for those of us who don't have six hours a day to devote to playing games just to move up a few levels. six hours is all it took to get to level 100 and unlock everything, and you could do it faster than that
that's why payday 2 is the biggest joke in the history of mankind
I figure that as long as you don't cheat your perks up and end up being all "how do I shoot gun," you're fine. I'm still going to max all the perks legitimately though.
fortunately in kf2 it doesn't take too long to level up, but since the devs constantly talk about focusing on new classes and perk trees it won't matter in a year after release anyway when there's so many classes you can't tell up from down and everyone still plays sharpshooter

Ah, I meant a "legit" way to cheat via Steamworks though (SAM etc).

Judging by beta, it'll still take about 6-8 hours+ to get each perk to 25, from 0.
That's 60-80 hours with basic hobo math. Still quite a bit of time, imo. Which is why I'm cautious of potential extra resets in the middle of EA.
I swear to god if they don't come with a SLI profile i break my desk with my bare feets.
Ah, I meant a "legit" way to cheat via Steamworks though (SAM etc).
Aha, "legit" way to cheat. Yeah, last time I ever used SAM was for all the stupid achievement-unlocked parts in Payday 2. (No offense, just to me, legit cheating is an oxymoron.)
The XP you have per class is stored as a plain-Jane address as a total value of all the XP you've ever had. I heard stories (but can't confirm) of people who somehow got to Level 26+ because they overestimated how much they needed to add.
There is no way they can secure this kind of cheating unless leveling is tracked by some kind of server (which it could be, I have no issues with that) - but that disallows offline play/leveling.
