I can't play anything other than Medic in pubs right now because there are otherwise no medics, and when there are, they don't heal their team properly

he's invincible as soon as he drops smoke bombs. he's invincible when he's sucking life from someone. he's vulnerable any other time though. this boss is insanely easy to wipe out

He has an 85% damage resistance when he's chasing, invincible when draining hp as he doesn't stop draining till the set hp he's suppose to drain up to.
You can kite the boss as he won't grab you after about 15-30 seconds until he throws another set of smoke grenades, use a lot of doors and corners.

Most people I've seen play as supports or commandos. Medics are kind of uncommon, zerkers are rare, especially on harder difficulty, where a single missed parry can result in your demise.
Whatever, my zerker had privilege of being a dedicated tanker of bigger baddies on suicidal - results were...mixed.

berserkers absolutely need a good ass medic when trying to be the dedicated tank. And that's rare right now, most medics don't even know they are playing medic or something and just want to shoot zeds instead of heal

Different classes get bonuses for different guns, but you can use any gun w/ any class. You'll level more slowly as a result though.
That being said, all of the classes (except medic) follow a tiered system of guns that gradually improve from shit to not shit, but are otherwise equal. It's been this way since KF1 and the new perks added later will probably work just the same.
(Medic's guns follow the same format, but are relatively stronger at low levels and much weaker at high levels.)

Each class has their own perk guns, but you can pick up and use any gun as any class.
However only the guns for your class gives you EXP. If you use a shotgun as a commando you will be getting support EXP.
IMO the best class atm is still commando, even after the nerf, can solo anything. AK + Scar = 75 shots before you have to reload, and you do a ton of damage.

this usedto happen all the time in KF1.
my solution for that was to play support and grab a medgun.
speaking of which, is that still possible with the support without having to gimp yourself too badly??

You can use a gun with any class, however the perk bonuses are still tied to the perk you choose. The classes are all really well balanced so it's a matter of whether or not you prefer to kill things with melee, shotguns, assault rifles, or a mix of both with the ability to heal (as medic). It's really whichever you'd personally like to use. Besides, the levels will reset once or twice before the full release anyway so it's a matter of what you think would be more fun. I did medic during the closed beta, and now I'm on Support because I really like the feel of the shotguns. Zerker is very strong with the nailgun and pulverizer combo as well.
So medic is a good balance of weaponry as well as the obvious medic stuff? I guess I should be asking what are people's favourite classes

The higher tiers of medic weapons also make darts cost less to fire, from the pistol which costs 50/100 to fire, up the the assault rifle which takes about 30ish/100.
The medic pistol, however, has enough to fire two darts in rapid succession, making it a MUST BUY for EVERY PERK for the late waves, especially the boss, because you can fit it on almost any build (it only weighs 1) and it's dirt cheap.

Medic has an SMG, pistol, shotgun, and assault rifle, all with healing darts, basically so you can play whatever style you please. It's a good balance and you can do a good amount of damage, but not nearly as much as support or others, which is alright because your focus is keeping the team alive.

I don't know what we're doing wrong then. I've done like 10 games in a row where we literally run out of ammo because we shoot him so much during his vulnerable periods.
Anyone have the issue of not being able to launch the game? Like completely, see the steam avatar outline go green then back to blue no crashes or errors whatsoever. My friend is having that and I've done literally everything possible in order to try and fix this to play with him but no go
Is he using a 33 bit OS?

just note that berserker has a bunch of quirks with the way melee attacks work (learning directional swinging, timed blocks, combo system) that it isn't as easy to pick up and play, as, say, the commando or the support specialist. I really think Zerk would be a lot better if tapping a movement key at the same time as a click would trigger a movement attack-- as it is you have to be moving in that direction for a few seconds, which makes stuff like uppercuts aggravating to pull off.

Apparently you need to shoot someone once to get the full XP for killing/assisting when they die so it makes sense. This is why using the nailgun makes for easy leveling as a zerk due to penetration.
Has anyone tried sandwiching Hans like the old patty?
