Game still has a story.
To me it seems more like a setting than a story. And then the community extrapolates it into more than it might actually be.
To me it seems more like a setting than a story. Mutated creatures are on the loose and an evil corporation is to blame. The leader of it all is still on the loose and what we thought was him all along was just clones of himself. In KF2 we're on our way to kill the real Clamely. The Patriarch. That's a story, you can't argue that.
see i dont think people know the difference between a story and a premise
It's not a guess or a theory, though. It's built into the game. Did you play the story map in End of the Line? It set a story up for Killing Floor 2 and explained why we've been slaying Zeds since 2009.
All KF needs is an excuse plot anyway, it's about about shooting monsters, not about the ethics of biotechnology.
thats what i meant? the only real implemented stories in kf are the objective mode maps and one of it is used as a premise for kf2 we dont know if theres gonna be any story oriented maps, but who the hell plays kf for the story? the game is fun and thats how it is its just utterly pretentious when players talk about story all the time, when even tripwire isnt mentioning it often
Tripwire said that they want to add a story to the game in the PS4 press release, though
if there's a campaign to how the maps play out, that would be pretty cool.

The Story comes up now because Tripwire appear to be doing something with it.
All KF needs is an excuse plot anyway, it's about about shooting monsters, not about the ethics of biotechnology.
Yeah I'm not dissing the minimal story, heck I think they're fulfilling their formula perfectly.
I also think most of the story of for setting consistency too. But it works for KF. Too much story would be a waste because who in the fuck would be paying attention when they have amazing gameplay to be focusing on.
I play KF for the plot.
Playing Kf for the plot is similar to watching porn for the plot
15 new posts "Alright! New video must be out!" Entire page about arguing over the lore of a game the main developer literally says is intended to let you kick back with bros and beers and shoot the fuck out of freaks.
Speaking of plot, they are making a short KF movie that takes place a few years before the first game if I remember correctly. So there is an expanded background story.
The original KF mod has a single-player campaign. KF2 should have some semblance of a plot. Hell, I wish every horde-based co-op shooter is like L4D.
kf2 is probably going to be exactly like l4d in the way story is handled
All KF needs is an excuse plot anyway, it's about about shooting monsters, not about the ethics of biotechnology.
Personally I always found it neat when games find clever ways of telling a story indirectly. Maybe bits of information here and there that help you piece together a story. Let's you focus on the gameplay uninterrupted, then digest the story later. I'd be into that kinda stuff for KF2.
doesn't most of the story come from the map descriptions more than anything else? i mean look at maps like westend or horzine labs, those paragraphs are chock full of background info on why and how you're there fighting zeds.

I hope we don't forget the two new weapons there, one of them being a crowbar.
Really happy for customization. I was almost 100% sure it was confirmed due to the different variations of Mr. Foster we've seen in the dev vlogs, but it's good that it's been completely confirmed. Can't wait to rock my Mr. Foster PC gamer exclusive. :downs:
The customization was such a pleasant surprise.

Woaw, I knew you could inflict some nasty wounds on ZEDs but seeing these new screenshots really gives you an idea how nasty. Looks brutal as fuck [t]http://tripwireinteractive.com/media/2210/KF2_Jan27_020.jpg[/t]

Scrake looks like fucking Donkey Kong. Also I'm so glad the Priest is back.
I hope you can shoot the mouth-plate off, he'd look properly horrifying then
