The faces are uncanny on those specimens.
No Clot or Stalker ass? Fuck off Tripwire.
when they [sp]find the videos of the cell with the specimen, you can see CLOT in the corner of the screen[/sp]
where did you get that piece of information?
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showpost.php?p=1352060&postcount=108
i wish they'd at least give us an approximate release date, even so much as first or second half would be great. this is the only game i want this year :(((
They said Q1
no they didn't.
So we got this Once again hippies fuck up everything
Killing Floor story = What ever Tripwire want's it to be. At this point the story is essentially a clean slate if you look back a few pages you'd see why (don't want to start that conversation again) The outbreak itself has not been covered, only the immediate aftermath and Kevin being involved. Activists were involved though. On the video itself, it was not awful but it was incredibly cliche and uninspired, or rather a complete rip of of 28 days later.
Actually took the time to read the video description.
Killing Floor: Uncovered is an origin story, set a few years before the events in the original Killing Floor game
Basically the video is from a successfully contained outbreak, i got the impression that was what was going on if I'm honest, after all they only unlocked doors for specimen that were in cells, once you killed the few that escaped it would be over seeing as they don't replenish their ranks from the dead guys team swaping, the cloning machines are what lead to endless hoards of specimen and they don't appear to be at that site.
And yet it still managed to add nothing to the story. Who cares what happens before the outbreak anyway?
They said Q1
Where are people getting this from? A source from Tripwire or something would be great. Everyone on the Tripwire forums seems to believe this but as far as I know nothing more than 2015 has been confirmed.
i can't see anything earlier than a late spring/early summer release at this point.
And yet it still managed to add nothing to the story. Who cares what happens before the outbreak anyway?
I find it rather interesting. Maybe this small contained outbreak is what lead to upper Horzine staff realizing that their super soldier project is too dangerous to create.
i can't see anything earlier than a late spring/early summer release at this point.
If even then. fingers crossed for even getting a new specimen video by then. By the way, I'm now holding a murder-suicide party, so RSVP if you're too tired of waiting.
No new footage or anything but a nice compilation with some music of gameplay footage that has been shown thus far.
Anyone used to play in high difficulties, then stop doing so? I used to be an HoE player, but after getting out of it for a few months, all of the HoE players jerk each other off in private servers and there was no way I was getting a good match in the two or so pubs still there. Now, I just play Hard and help newbies in Normal. I also try to help out low and underleveled players in Hard instead of raging about it.
I could enjoy a mode between Normal and Hard. Normal is slow and almost boring, then Hard comes in and kicks your shins.
It's pretty much that; I used to do HoE pretty hardcore but most of the players outside of people like CommandoBilly (who hasn't played in months for the same reasons) and Fangz are either utter douchebags or pretty much insane once you get to know them even a little.
after hoe, hard is my screensaver

Then, I leave for a few months and then HoE is very nearly dead. I have no idea what happened. It's a shame, as HoE is fun as hell with the right team. Sad to see that it's turned into a small and neurotic clique that circlejerks in private servers. :/ I'll just go back to headshotting Scrakes and Fleshpounds with the Crossbow in matches with level 1s and 2s. I miss the huge enemy counts, but helping newbs or stomping a Hard match with other level 6s is fun.
I've never been genuinely good enough to play past Suicidal, and even Suicidal is too much. I prefer to stick with Hard and Normal.

Not gonna lie, on European servers you do meet the occasional dickhead but that's like 1 game in every 10 games. But even then the other 4 players are pretty chill.
I've never been genuinely good enough to play past Suicidal, and even Suicidal is too much. When you hit suicidal suddenly everything takes like half a magazine to kill and it really isn't fun.
Looking back now, I think Tripwire listened to the whiners on the official forums a bit too much. The Fleshpound Crossbow headshot reducer on Suicidal and HoE was a good move, but mosto f hte other chices they made were dumb. *The Scrake crossbow headshot damage reduction in harder difficulties just means you waste a little bit more time killing a Scrake instead of making them more of a threat. *The M99 went from a challenging but good choice as an ultimate weapon for Sharpies to a worhtless gimmick weapon you only break out against the Patriarch in Normal and Hard because the forums QQed about it being OPEEEE, nevermind the fact it had a huge tradeoff in that you could only use the 9mm as your sidearm. *There was no reason to remove flinchlocking Scrakes to death in harder difficulties. They're still easy as pie to kill as a Zerk, Sharpshooter, or Firebug. *The Scythe was a good power weapon for Zerks that traded things like the ability to kill Scrakes very easily for low swing speed, but the TWI crybabies threw a temper tantrum until it was nerfed to being only useful as a weapon to teach mid-level Zerks how to constantly stun Scrakes.
Honestly I don't mind any of the changes they made except for making M99 ammo cost a trillion pound. It's fun as fuck to piss about with but I agree, it got nerfed because of an over reaction. Scythe though, can't defend the original weapon, sit in a door an M2 to victory made things very stale for everyone else in the game, problem is they buffed the claymore to pre nerf scythe so we still have it.

You just have to follow your perks rules more. If you're using a shotgun as a commando obviously you'll have a bad time, but if you're using on perk weapons and you use them intelligently the enemies are hardly damage sponges (apart from sirens, seriously they have stupid high HP) If it really bothers you that much, go demo with LAW and one shot everything. Oneshotting scrakes is actually quite useful. I'd say an xbow sharp will still outperform m99 90% of the time, but it's not a useless weapon, it just takes a lot of skill and risk to use (I say skill in that you need to know how to play sharp, scavenge for ammo and rely on your teammates for cash, not aiming for the head) * Flinchlock removal is critical for making the game hard, you can literally win hard by sitting in a corner as zerk and holding M1, the only thing's that'll kill you will be sirens or husks. Zerk is too good anyway. I really hope in KF2 they add an enemy that solo zerks will just die to, because zerk is honestly one of the biggest turnoffs for me in KF1, once you learn to kite you can't die excepting terrible luck. * Scythe is still good. Claymore is better but scythe is totally usable. I think nearly any class and build (within reason) is usable even on HoE, you just have to be good at the game. My friend and I beat a full HoE match with nothing but hunting shotguns (no 9mm) and just the two of us. I have a friend who reliably tops the scoreboard with the fireball launcher. One of my group goes wave 2 LAW and succeeds every time, I personally have been playing sharpshooter with LAR/9mm, swapping to M99 on wave 7+ and it kicks ass. Just because certain strategies are incredibly powerful (Xbow, berserker, flamethrower) doesn't mean the other strategies are useless, they're just weaker.
I kinda like the current berzerker technique for harder difficulties. Even though doing the Hokey Pokey with a scrake and getting your whole self out before he shakes it all about is still pretty easy, I usually find myself going for backstabs to get a full stun anyway. That being said it is really stupid that it works on the Patriarch.

The latency on MP games often means the Patty breaks the lock when you haven't actually done anything wrong.

It's very clearly not a feature to have a class which can deal damage repeatedly to the final boss without any retribution whatsoever. Also it's fucking stupid.
Something cool that Munk just confirmed on the TW forums. The Lyrics for the background music are off by default, but there is an option to turn them on. Which is cool, I can't really think of any other games that give you that ability.
