an art book? sold
Soundtrack, Artbook, and some cosmetic stuff? Sold. I was ready to buy the soundtrack alone. Not to mention the Digital Deluxe edition is still cheaper than the plain, stock, out of package, vanilla edition of new AAA games.
I got to try the beta for a bit. The gore system isn't really in place except for monsters that don't instantly die from a headshot. Then you can kind of shoot their mouths off and stuff. The gore system they talked about in the trailers only really comes into effect when you shoot corpses point blank with shotguns and stuff. I really hope they fix this, headshots just make their heads disappear without even any big ol brain scatter, they should also just up the ante of the requirements to cause big chunks throughout the mid-section, make it like left 4 dead 2 where an ak47 makes huge holes in the body, otherwise whats the point of spending all that money on making a gore engine so detailed? I also just don't feel the same umpf from the guns like I did in KF1, the guns are loud but I don't know I wasn't feeling it. I only got to play a bit though. Chances are I won't even be able to run the game on low so hopefully they fix a lot of stuff before I am able to get a new PC
Perky!
Heh, yeah. You guys have Perk -> 2 perks. We have Perk -> 2 perky Also another cool detail, every graphic option has its own strings for stuff like "low/high". Which is awesome because in Czech there can be more variants of "low" so I can adjust them manually for each option and not have one variable for all of them.
recommended specs are higher than red orchestra 2 i have a feeling cosmetics (hats, accessories, colours) will be a big thing this time round
I really hope this is what it's gonna be, DLC characters were fine but the unique weapons were pretty lowball. I wouldn't mind the golden weapons but apparently they had ammo pools that were independent to the original weapons so that was pretty broken.
Just when I thought I was prepared to preorder for $30, they have to announce the digital deluxe, which I'm sure will be $40-50. Damn their generosity.
Deluxe is $39.99.
I like how dj skully floats. [t]http://www.tripwireinteractive.com/media/2364/KF2Content_Img_01.jpg[/t]
All the characters in the customization menu float
I like how dj skully floats. [t]http://www.tripwireinteractive.com/media/2364/KF2Content_Img_01.jpg[/t]
They did actually spell "Scully" correctly :o
Hopefully there will still be character packs with multiple characters and not just 1 new one for each dlc.
They did actually spell "Scully" correctly :o
Yea, one of the devs said they changed it to be in line with kf1.
I got to try the beta for a bit. The gore system isn't really in place except for monsters that don't instantly die from a headshot. Apparently, the system they have now is extremely toned down, and they're still working on a lot of things with it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/XUCstBe.png[/t]
I wouldn't mind character/skin packs for kf2 at all, but guns etc as paid dlc will always wind me up and i really hope they avoid doing that shit.
Speaking of soundtracks, LifeWar is fucking incredible. Hearing "WAAAAAAR" when blowing away a bunch of clots with a double barrel is incredible.
So I know canon doesn't exactly matter much with KF but are we working with Horzine now? The Trader Pod is clearly Horzine tech.
So I know canon doesn't exactly matter much with KF but are we working with Horzine now? The Trader Pod is clearly Horzine tech.
I've heard a few survivors mentioning being paid for this. So most likely
I wouldn't be surprised if whomever is left at Horzine that isn't fucked up is trying their hardest to fix what Clamely fucked up.
I've heard a few survivors mentioning being paid for this. So most likely
I really like the idea of actually working for Horzine, rather than just being a group of what seemed like Mercenaries.
I really like the idea of actually working for Horzine, rather than just being a group of what seemed like Mercenaries.
From what little of the ~~deep plot~~ I can pick apart, in Killing Floor 2 you are hired by Horzine to basically clean up their fuck-ups. They're still a super spooky megacorp and they did not disintegrate despite the failure of regional and international militaries to contain the mess. Potentially, you might write off some of the smaller ones (Outpost, Biotics Lab) as cover-ups as well. Not quite sure how you can tie in a fucked up Paris into it though. I also don't get how a military can fail to contain these events, but we'll send in 1-6 doods and they'll just mop it all right on up. [sp]Killing Floor: Outbreak, a Killing Floor RTS with 1000s of ZEDs at a time, when?[/sp]
Yes, and they're not planned for KF2. They said they may reconsider if enough fans want those chars.
How are they not? Both were featured in one of the screenshots.

So Horzine is basically like those oil companys who have to shell out billions of dollars for clean up operations after one of their tankers or derricks spring a leak, except in this case the oil is a bunch of pale monsters and the leak is half a continent. I wonder what their PR firm is like. Must be way better than BP's.

I want the old voices back. The new ones are too action-heroey. We need chipper British charm again!
KF2 runs on zombie movie logic, where militaries are completely destroyed by shambing dudes or human wave attacks that any military has the type of equipment to completely shut down with not a lot of effort.
To combine the two:
But, in the typical way these things go, the program didn’t want to be shut down. The specimens got loose. No-one was left alive to turn off the specimen-cloning equipment. And now they are running amok. Well, some of them are running amok. Others are shambling amok or even jumping amok, but you get the idea. The police were sent in, but that wasn’t even a challenge for the specimens. The first army units hadn’t been warned what to expect. The screams of “its got a bloody chainsaw!” over the radios probably didn’t do much for morale, as whole units were chewed up. Quite literally, in some cases, of course. And now, there is just you. And a few friends. The few survivors from the first police and army units thrown in. Of course, you can’t tell anyone anything, because that would be a breach of the Official Secrets Act 1911, 1920, 1989. And that would be a disciplinary offense. So just get in there and do your bit for Queen and Country

Just one month after the events in the original KILLING FLOOR, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding. Not all have given up hope though... A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them.
Ignoring the fact this is something you might find in a high school creative writing class from that one kid - I assume there was some sort of absolutely massive event to do such a thing. (Granted, what would the ZEDs ever do against any kind of military equipment??) KF1 is literal cover-ups. KF2 is post-apoc cleaning up of specific areas. It would've been cool to see their artist come up with some sorts of "Super ZEDs" meant for taking out tanks, helicopters, bunkers, etc.
oh rip, they changed the rate of exp you get from welding doors. on suicidal a 0-100% door only nets you 30 exp instead of ~120.
I still think directed experience systems like that are stupid and it's kind of a weaker continuation of the issue KF1 had. You should just get experience for killing Zeds, plain and simple. Anything else could be ground up by other players or encourages obnoxious styles of play; like welding all the doors, or medics whining when people self-heal. I wouldn't even care if cross-leveling wasn't a thing, because that gives me a reason to actually hang on to off-perk weapons for certain situations rather than being "I have to use my perk weapons all the time."
Can you shoot through allies? Do you get more xp on higher difficulties for killing zeds? what about with specific objectives? Progress will be wiped on EA release, but will it be wiped more times after that?
Can you shoot through allies? Do you get more xp on higher difficulties for killing zeds? what about with specific objectives? Progress will be wiped on EA release, but will it be wiped more times after that?
no. yes. yes. yes.
no. yes. yes. yes.
I could have sworn someone said "thank god we can shoot through people" once :v: do grenades still bounce off allies? How often are the wipes going to happen if you know? If they do it too much it could really affect the playerbase, I don't want to make progress only for it to be quashed every month, though i'm sure TW aren't stupid
