I hope we can finally cure the curse, somehow.
With the Aldia ending, i'm definitely curious.
I hope they concentrate more on the world than the protagonist this time.
I hope they concentrate more on the world than the protagonist this time.
And more variety in basically everything with fewer hamfisted "REMEMBER THE LAST GAME?" moments.
With the Aldia ending, i'm definitely curious.
With that in mind, I hope that Dark Souls III concludes the series, or find a way to continue with the curse gone. If they can make Dark Souls III more like Dark Souls I with the world connectivity, exploration, and lore, I'm more than happy to support it.
I just hope DS3's ''iconic'' armor will look cool the faraam set will probably remain my favourite though oh and character creation that lets you make more than just babyface mcgee and mr. eldritch horror
The guys in bloodborne can look decent if you cover them in (facial) hair, the girls look all look like dolls of old asian women but that's a step up from whatever the fuck the women in dark souls 2 were supposed to be so they're slowly getting there
I just hope that it takes from the more sensible and useful weapon animations from DS1 as well as the better diversity.
Less big dudes in armor with tracking side-side-overhead smash combos for bosses would be nice too, hopefully Miyazaki's team goes nuts with the boss designs like they did in demon souls.
Dark souls 1 had the most mind blowing level design while ds2 had much more 'fair' pvp and combat in general. It's very hard to say which one I liked less or more. both had their share of bad and good enemies. bring back megaskeletors and ironpigs [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] I hope we have the shields of dark souls 1 but with the dual handed system ds2 had ds2's shield system was a joke, ds1's rolling system isn't as strong but its there it needs to be actually fashionably practical to use either a shield or roll. Both tactics need to be equal
I want more fist weapons. Something with some serious, poise-breaking, intense punches would be fuckin' metal. I want to really deck some fools.
Would give me more LIFT characters to do. Like Lady Lift, Lift Jr, Larry Lift - Brother of LORD LIFT etcetc
I want more fist weapons. Something with some serious, poise-breaking, intense punches would be fuckin' metal. Or like maybe a general skill into different kinds of weapons that changes up their move sets?
I sadly think the shield will remain a joke unless they implement a much deeper mechanic to it.
I hope NPC phantoms are more balanced. [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] Like, give them decent ai OR make them tanks, not both.
I liked DS1's equipment load system better than DS2, honestly. I can see where the agility skill would also be a fair enough change to the dodge system too. Omni-directional rolling is nice. And enemies need to chill with the tracking. The current animations make it look like the ground is ice with how the enemies can spin on the spot. And please, for the love of christ, make sure the collisions are accurate.
make all of the AI have Djura's AI and an evelyn and then we'll be talking
There needs to be another scumbag invader like Maldron.
I hope NPC phantoms are more balanced. [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] Like, give them decent ai OR make them tanks, not both.
I want phantoms that wield more than just greatswords. Almost all non-DLC summons use some form of greatsword. Give me more like Luet with his dual shields or Bashful Ray with...whatever the fuck makes him such a beast.

I can imagine they'll introduce a Maldron like character (someone worse than Patches himself) and fuck around your whole journey.
my hopes n' dreams - varied enemies, numerous monsters and monstrosities - hand-animated rather than mocapped animation (and/or just more speedy combat a la DS1/BB) - DS2's PVP connectivity - More experimentation with covenants (rat king and way of the blue were interesting but ended up crap). Gravelording always seemed hilarious to me in concept but I rarely saw it in action. [sp]Maybe ditch the sunlight covenant. I've liked being a sunbro for a while but it's time for a new identity[/sp] - Graphical style like Dark Souls/Bloodborne (detailed, realistic, sharp) rather than DS2 (pastel, bleached look, almost stylized) - GOOD HITBOXES (I'd say the most important thing) - No difficulty cop outs, e.g. ring of life protection, lifegems - Warping barred until midgame, less plentiful bonfires - More thoughtful difficulty (less undead crypt rows of soldiers to grind through, more anor londo being shot at from hundreds of meters away and needing to plan your approach) Honestly most of these were solved in BB, I hope the teams come together to deliver a ridiculously awesome game
Hopes: Dark Souls 1 fall damage Dark Souls 1 weight system Dark Souls 1 shields and parrying Return of Red and Blue Eye Orbs Fewer, better bosses. Too many of DS2's bosses were giant armoured dudes with a greatsword. More area variety, DS2 had 3 forests. Dark Souls 1 decayed art style rather than Dark Souls 2 decayed art style, a lot of DS2 Seemed like it was trying to be gross in the enemy and area design, which I can't dig. Dark Souls 2 dual wielding Dark Souls 2 punchmen Dark Souls 1 style NPC quests Dark Souls 2 DLC style NPC invaders Bloodborne movement and dashing, rolling is so 2011 [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] And no stat that changes how many i-frames you have.
Hopes: Don't be bad.
Hopes: Both more and less Berserk references at the same time.
I really need to make a list of things i liked from DkS2 and stuff. But the main things to point out would be better two hander movesets. Go more for DkS1 style than DkS2 style and give the player more of a reason to use strength weapons... It's little wonder there are so many katana users in DkS2 when the movesets for the two handers are such wank. Also, Majula felt like an experement of trying to combine Firelink and The Nexus into one. It doesnt work that way. Either have one or the other, Hunters Dream worked because it didnt try to be both Nexus and Firelink. It would be good to have the same ammount of choice you had at the start of DkS1, Skeletons and Ghosts not being the recommended way for when you start. But going to areas that are bound to kill you should give you more choices of loot and weapons to use at such an early stage. (Winged Spear, Estoc, Zweihander...) Just give us better map design and encounters in general, i want to be a cunt like i was in Anor Londo, Iron Keep just doesnt work for that. Heck, i wouldnt mind seeing the return of the Master Key. Life Gems i wouldnt miss. Also, let's not have another "bearer seek seek lest" just to level up. And no Adaptability and Soul Memory, please for the love of god. I just don't think they worked out too well and it would make peoples lives easier if we didnt have to worry about how many souls they collected. Infact, don't pussy out of invasions. I don't understand why summoned phantoms can drink flasks and use lifegems yet a invader phantom cant.
Hopes: DS1 Weight and i-frame system (With space to do dashes instead of rolls depending on equipment / weight) DS2 Omni-directional dodging DS2 Powerstances and Dual Wielding DS1 Enemy Movement (None of that 360 noscope tracking) DS2 DLC NPC AI with more human stats reasonable to the level you are at time of invasion (No stat padding) DS1 Parrying DS1 Kick instead of Shoulder bash DS1 Environment Design DS2 Open Paths / Progression DS1 Sense of weight with greatswords / UGS Terrain and World Geometry Shadows and Lighting (Both Dark Souls games have fake dynamic lighting tied to static shadow maps; DS2 has dynamic shadows enabled for certain objects only) Each weapon to have a different moveset. Varied swing times based on weapon weight and character Strength / Dexterity. More varied enemies that aren't reskins / different clothed versions of the same base hollow. [editline]adding some things[/editline] DS1 Hollow / Human Online system; If I can't summon when hollow, you can fuck off with your invasions. DS2 Human Effigies; convenience of using them anywhere to regain humanity DS2 Healing items; Estus for combat recovery, Gems for after-battle recovery DS2 Network / PvP; Could even improve it some more Mixed Estus System; Bonfire base of 5 estus, use Sublime Dust to reinforce the Fire instead of soft humanity Accurate hitboxes and Collisions Dismemberment System; Not over the top gore. Would be used only on a big / strong enough weapon and only on the killing blow.
Is there an easy and hopefully non-bannable external way for me to just level up one time in DaS1 because I had the souls to do it and I'm calling bullshit on the Iron Golem who threw me off and left my souls in a completely unreachable spot so that they weren't there when I showed up to fight him again? I feel totally cheated on this shit. If I'd died twice in a row without picking them up, then so be it, but leaving that shit out of reach isn't fair. I say non-bannable because I'd like to be able to do co-op later when my friend gets the game. Don't give a fuck about PvP.
i dont think you can be banned from DS1
DS1 Kick instead of Shoulder bash
Oh this so much. The push was only useful against enemies who kept their shield up constantly, in PVP it was practically useless once people knew it existed.
Here's a question, DkS1's Hollow/Human system or DkS2's gradual hollowing the need for Human Effigies system? I really think Humanity worked better.
