Dark Souls 1 still seems to be a wasteland for me. Been trying to get summoned for the gargoyles at level 20 for a while now.
Same. I'm assuming it'll pass once the full Steam version is properly out.
No seriously, you will NEVER want to fight him again.
I glimpsed a couple of seconds of a clip of the scene that precedes the Sif fight if you beat the DLC first, and I don't have the heart to do the DLC first. I always do the Sif fight before the DLC. It's like ripping off a band-aid faster.
okay, quick question, for the techies in here. I have this problem where after 2-3 minutes of gameplay I get disconnected from online (in dark souls 2). I can reconnect by going back to the menu but I can't do anything online because it will keep disconnecting. I think it's just momentarily losing connection since I can connect again pretty much instantly after losing connection, which brings me to my question; is there a way that I can make dark souls II reconnect after the initial disconnect without going back to the menu, or keep it from switching to offline mode if I can't connect? Preferably in a way that won't get me softbanned? Or, alternatively, does anyone know of a fix for this issue?
I remember hearing something about port forwarding, but I can't do anything with my connection because I'm currently living on-campus at my college, and don't have access to the routers or anything. I stopped by IT to make sure there was nothing wrong with my connection, and everything is working as it's supposed to.
Siblings got me the Dark Souls II Design Works artbook for my birthday. Just came in the mail today. <3

Post every page
I would if I had a scanner that didn't suck balls.
Man, already at Drangleic castle and so far I've only had 2 human invasions.
Are people too busy farming for orbs?
For...orbs? What orbs?
Cracked orbs? You know, what you get from covenant duels and what is required for invasions?
Cause so far I've had more action in the Duels rather than on the field.

Maybe I should get the delicate string.
Oh. Well outside of Iron Keep there's really no point to invading. There's no real benefit to it.
And here I was thinking invasion happened cause it was fun and a dick thing to do, didn't know benefits had to play a factor.

Don't expect that shit in Dark Souls 2. Invading and the like actually handicap you by piling up more souls to your SM if you win and no matter the outcome you're still wasting orbs, which are extremely precious as far as I know.
I am seriously so bitter about Dark Souls 2. I really wish it would've been good, but inbetween the SM, adp being a stat, poise being completely and utterly useless, armor also being useless and the weight changes... With SM, twinking might've been bad, but it happened once or twice at most in Anor Londo and the Parish. Is getting rid of those two dudes worth the entire fucking game?
I'm so upsettled.

Well fuck me sideways.
I mean what's the point of stockpiling orbs if there's not other use to them? Man, half of the fun was from human invasions, shucks.
I was pretty upset about Darksouls 2 when i got the ring of lifeprotection i finished the with only one human effigy because you can only repair it for like 3k souls
46 loyce souls. So close.
Who thought this was a good idea?
Anyone watching the Plague play through of Dark Souls, it's really interesting.

It's funny how half of those issues also exist in Demon's Souls and no one complains about that
I don't see how SM, adaptability (which I don't even see as an issue) and poise play into it being an enjoyable singleplayer experience. Despite the multiplayer growing in popularity since DeS it's still primarily a singleplayer game with an optional multiplayer component. That is also what the balancing etc should be geared towards.

I dunno, I've been getting invasions pretty frequently, both receiving and giving. It's way more frequent when you're nearing the half-way point and onward through the game as you'll most likely have a much higher soul memory by then. The higher the soul memory, the larger the tiers become, making the window in which you can invaded much larger and thus easier to be invaded.
last night I beat the vanguard in the demon's souls tutorial for the first time. I then got to experience the greatest and most rewarding cutscene ever mere seconds later.
In my experience invasions are a lot more common at higher levels, probably because people can afford to just buy the orbs without too many problems
I get invaded rather frequently ever since I crossed about 15mil SM. Lot less people to coop with though

Im still stuck at 2mil soul lvl which means I'll always get wrecked six ways from Sunday because everybody at this level is veteran players likely doing their 7 character playthrough and have pixel perfect aiming and reaction times.
I remember one battle where the very first attack I did, THE FIRST SWING of my sword was parryed and he stabbed me to death with what I'm guessing was a dark infused shadow dagger.
The most I can do nowadays is to dress up or try ridiculous styles to try and luck out a win. :v:
I wanna make a new pvp build in Dark Souls but I don't know what to play, any suggestions?

Which is exactly why Dark Souls 1 is the best in my opinion, it improved on things. Dark Souls 2 is one step forwards, two steps back. I know my friends enjoy DS2 more so I just end up playing that most of the time but in the end, I still turn back to DS1.
I really miss having the alternative of actually using armor for tankiness. Fatrolling was actually viable, y'know?

I feel like this is how it should be anyhow, getting invaded right at the beginning of the game like what happened literally the second you became human in DS1 didn't really help players build skills or add to the experience. The people invading were so much further into the game with gear so good that a new player had literally no chance to win.
In DS2 I get invaded occasionally at higher levels by someone I can beat even if I'm dicking around pretty heavily and by the time I'm getting invaded out the wazoo my character has sort of reached their build goal and I have no issues fighting people off. If you're any good you can make enough souls to get 50 or so cracked red (or blue) eye orbs in a few minutes in the endgame, so needing to buy them doesn't bother me really

veteran?... my first character is around that point and i am no veteran by any means
well, its a good thing theres only a few weeks left until they fix all of that
i never used the protection rings in dark souls honestly the hassle of constantly repairing it just made it outweigh the convenience it has
also speaking of inconvenience i hope scholar of the first sin lets you level up at bonfires. this has always been my biggest complain about dark souls 2, there was no reason.
every time i wanna level up in dark souls i go to a bonfire
every time i wanna level up in dark souls 2 i go to a bonfire, then i mash x, then i have a loading screen, then i find where the bitch is, then i wait 5 seconds for her to get up if shes sitting down, then i mash x again, then i select level up and finally level up, then i warp back to where i was before
pretty big inconvenience seeing as most players would want to level up the second they beat a boss
I'm not sure if this is the primary reason, but I believe they have the players have the Herald be the only way to level up is because of the award for players not resting at a bonfire in a playthrough.
If not that, then it's probably to go back to Demon's Souls roots.

I always got the sense it was more for literary purposes than logistical. It's an easy way to make the Emerald Herald an important character that the player is quickly familiarized with. Your reliance on her turns to familiarity.
