But it's also not officially posted by From/Bamco, which is why I'm wondering if this is leaked or bullshit.

Can't find this image posted anywhere else except here and some quick google searches didn't yield any results for DSIII stress test, so I'm going to call bullshit for now.
The image is apparently from next months Game Informer. I just found it in /dsg/
Finally beat dank souls 1 for the 1st time
and I've beatened dank souls 2 about 5 times now
dark souls 3
I'm coming for you
[sp]now if only you were out lol[/sp]
Just fought [sp]Aldia[/sp] for the second time ever in SotFS. He's such a good boss.
Makes me hate how I have to fight Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum and Bone Lady just to get to him.
I remember daemon and I co-op'd through most of sotfs, skipped that and did most of the DLC, and when we came back we just fucking curbstomped that bossrush.

It's even crazier with a four-man co-op run. My group and I went through absolute fucking hell with Raime and in Eleum Loyce, so we figured the final boss(es) would be still a bit of a challenge.
Oh how wrong we were.
Well it's more of a I have to go through two (three?) other bosses to get to him. While all ll I have to to do if I want to re-fight bosses like Sinh or Velstadt, I just pop an ascetic and fight them.
At least it's not like DS1 where I have to go through half the game just to re-fight Artorias. (solo that is)

Also speaking of coop I think I also may have spoiled [sp]Aldia[/sp] for a shade I summoned. After we beat Nash, he stared waving and freaked out when [sp]Aldia[/sp] appeared.
for sure I know for my first ds3 run I can't use magic period
magic in ds1/2 is like easy mode, ESPECIALLY if you've already done a melee only run
I'm still wondering how Pyromancy will be. If all that remains is embers of the world and bonfires seem to be a dwindling resource, perhaps humanity is as well and maybe souls too. Will we even see Pyromancy? Will it be more specialized? Maybe more buff focused this time, since people don't have anything left in them to send outwards? It is a mystery.

My first playthrough will most likely be strength-based. Crushing things with giant swords and stuff will always be my favourite playstyle.
All my initial playthroughs have always been Knight+Sword&Board. 99% sure DS3 will be no different.

yeah magic just never appeals to me with the way the swordplay feels it's just too damn satisfying
Besides, i always feel like it's good to go for a "safe" first run to get used to everything before delving into stuff like magic.
It's either semi quality build with more strenght or pure strenght.
Warrior\Knight as always for first playthrough.
greatsword + no shield will be my first playthrough. rolling around to dodge is just so much more fun than hiding behind a shield.
also greatsword because it now features a 'guts from berserk' stance
Oh i didn't know about the Greatsword Guts stance.
Now this is awesome!
yes and it sounds amazing
[quote]While two-handing the Ultra Greatsword, press L2 to "step in" (Miyazaki references the 'Guts pose' from Berserk). From this, use R1 for a strong long range thrust (which kind of ducks under attacks), or R2 for a massive uppercut swing that sends most enemies flying. NOTE: You have "poise" during this attack, meaning you take damage but don't flinch. You can also follow up with nothing and use step-in as a kind of "feint" (should be interesting in PvP).

i actually love the 'arts' idea. it's a good way to add extra interesting move sets to weapons as well as changing up the way you fight.
Was that just a confirmation on super armor during greatsword heavies?

That was a fun boss rush.
So I've never really been interested in DS because all the hype about it being super hardcore kinda put me off, but I bought DS on steam sale because why not. Is it a common thing for new players to go straight down the graveyard path once they reach Lordran and get killed by skeletons over and over for a couple of hours before realising there's another path with much weaker dudes you're supposed to go down first?

Yes. Some players stick it out and make it through the Catacombs though.
Well I guess on the plus side fighting those skeletons taught me a lot about the combat mechanics. And I found a Morning Star which I've been using ever since.
