They said they were keeping summon signs right? Cause then they'd have to keep the engraved ring. That was one of the better ideas in DS2

Engraved ring was a good attempt at connecting better with your friends, though I wouldn't mind if they would add in another kind of soapstone or something similar that allowed you to play directly with people on a friends list or something.
Super late to the party, but what the fuck. The "alternate" ending in Dark Souls II is [sp]the Dark Lord ending from Dark Souls 1.[/sp] A bit worse since it's already implied that a new Cursed Undead will eventually [sp]usurp you the player.[/sp] [sp]Aldia monologuing at the end how it's pretty much hopeless and the cycle will be forever.[/sp]
But fucking [sp]Aldia himself has managed to escape the cycles. Why doesn't he just assimilate humanity into himself?[/sp] And what the fuck is that shit with the crowns? Why does gathering the crowns [sp]somehow make the Undead who wears them immune to the curse?[/sp] Shouldn't it be a gathering of those kings' souls and not their crowns, simple inanimate objects?
Dark Souls already had this set. The Pygmy [sp]split the Dark Soul and created humans.[/sp] We see in the intro cinematic that human's natural state are hollows, but [sp]Humanity/the Dark Soul allows them to live normal lives. If the First Flame was extinguished, humans could still do shit because they had the Dark Soul within them.[/sp] The implications therein were: [sp]Is Kaathe telling the whole truth, why does he teach humans the art of lifedrain; the seal of New Londo was broken unleashing the Darkwraiths upon the world in either ending leading people to speculate that the serpents were working towards the same end.[/sp] All that shit is tightly knit and makes sense, but DSII for some reason did away with the concept of Humanity.
How will Dark Souls III even rectify any of this?

I know there's no point in blind speculation but it really grinds me that DSII did this [sp]cycles crap[/sp] when they had perfectly fine avenues to go down involving the serpents for a sequel. Hell even the Bed of Chaos. The alternate ending hammers the point home that there's nothing [sp]humans can do about the cycles[/sp] so how is there going to be any closure?
Maybe it'll bring back some of the lore aspects of Dark Souls 1, bring back [sp]humanity, the Furtive Pygmy and the Dark Soul[/sp], since the "Lords of Cinder" are returning and there are apparently parts of the world that look very [sp]"Dark"[/sp] if that makes any sense.
I know you're all prolly going to say yes but DS2:SotFS for 25 bucks if i don't have DS2?

I don't think DS2 will have much of a role to play in 3, honestly, it seems like Miyazaki is pretty much ignoring that DS2 existed except for the most vital points.
Miyazaki is not ignoring DS2, it's because DS2 had a different theme and didn't advance that much only in the alternate ending is clearer and as well how hollowing really works. Might as well remember that Drangleic is set in a exaggerate convoluted timeline but thanks to the DS3 CG trailer, i feel that there were more than a single [sp] Giant Lord [/sp] but multiples so i feel that you don't change the timeline whenever you visit the memories.
Also hollowing in DS1 was weird, no matter how interesting some NPCs could turn in. It didn't have much depth as DS2 has. You can see Lucatiel as matter of primary example.
I'm not keen on the whole "going for 30 fps" deal, since I really like the smoothness in Dark Souls 2. Hoping for the option to chose on PC.

Yeah definitely. There's a lot of content to be played if you haven't got DS2.

Yes because it includes DLC compared to DS2, and the DLC is fantastic.
I'd even go far as to say the DLC is leagues better than the vanilla game itself.
The level design sure was.
The enemies were just as uninspired, though.

I thought the Ice Trolls in Eleum Loyce were neat though
Replaying Dark Souls 1 for the hell of it and I guess I never played at true 60 frames per second 'cuz I don't recall it being THIS buttery smooth with DSFix. I don't know if my recently upgraded parts actually made a difference or not. [sp]GTX 980 and i7-4790k @ 4.0 GHz[/sp]
This game almost feels completely different at 60fps lol

well thats cause youre actually moving slightly slower and your rolls dont go as far. Go ahead, see if you can roll over the gap in firelink to get back to the asylum at both 30 and 60fps

What? That sounds dumb. I'll try that right now.

Oh.
[editline]21st June 2015[/editline]
Another thing I noticed is if that I play some co-op/invasions online with 60fps, everyone's movement animations are fucked. Everyone just glides across the floor lol.
i really thought they'd release footage of the ds3 demo by the end of the week

This fucking lance has spoiled me, holy shit.
I usually stayed away from lances 'cuz they felt too slow and unwieldy in fast-paced PvP, but man it's so much fun to use when you're just dicking around and catching people in your running attack.

I was watching the LobosJr/Vaati stream, and they said it would probably be by Gamescon.
A month and weeks to wait, wee :v:

What happened?
His people needed him.
Physics, my friend. Probably an intense amount of force in the second guy's arm causing the first guy's body to go flying.
And who can blame him? His people needed him, after all...
He had a sudden urge to visit the Dragon Aerie

Is it worth buying the Scholar of the first sin upgrade while its on sale, considering that I own the original DS2 with all the dlc for it?

Does the sale stack with the price cut for people that owned the original?
