You're basically very lucky the knight dropped the sword that early in the game 'cuz the sword is actually a rare drop.
When it dropped I assumed that every Black Knight was guaranteed to drop whatever weapon they used, then I was disappointed that nothing dropped from any of the others. That explains it.
Abyss Greatsword is one of the best imo depending on how you play.
I used to be skeptical about it's potential because of it's stat requirements, but I can now assure everyone that it's worth every level.
Christ, i forgot just how much i hate The Gutter. It's not too bad in Scholar but fuck that invader dude. Now to actually beat Iron Keep, which i've grown to hate due to the changes.
It would be baller if there was some kind of in-game dungeon maker.
Beat [sp]the old sinner[/sp] on my first try! Apparently he is one of the big dudes I have to kill too! I don't know if this game is easier than Dark Souls, but I'm actually beating multiple bosses on first tries now.

Bosses aren't too bad as long as you're decent at dodging and can quickly determine the movesets.
I finished Dark Souls back at release, yeah. I found it more difficult than Demon's Souls, and DS2 easier than Dark Souls.
It would be baller if there was some kind of in-game dungeon maker.
Basing off the procedural generation of chalice dungeons in bloodborne; maybe they could use that tech for a dungeon maker in DS3? That would be awesome
Basing off the procedural generation of chalice dungeons in bloodborne; maybe they could use that tech for a dungeon maker in DS3? That would be awesome
I wasn't too big on chalice dungeons in BB, probably a controversial opinion. This is from the perspective of someone who had finished the game before starting the CD I would have preferred a few hours more of premade content than the chalice system. My reasoning is that the CD was created to provide a feeling of unfamiliarity on each play session, but due to the modularity everything looks samey and you can usually tell where enemies will be depending on the room anyway. I don't feel that the unfamiliarity, aesthetic and rewards (I had already spent all my materials on the weapons I had found in the story, and the lost/uncanny weapons aren't necessarily better) make up for the lack of unique themes and varied setpieces By the time you've completed the CDs up until Yharnam, you've put hours into them and the worst part is that they were all premade, so you don't get that sense of pure discovery (unless you made root dungeons to farm materials to get to the next chalice). The point is the experience will be largely the same for new characters despite the CD's selling point. I feel like this could have been rectified had they not tied achievements to the completion of the CD (meaning that they have to make every chalice completable in order for you to get to the end - non-root dungeons) If they had made the CDs completely random from the start and separate from any achievement earning removing the need for non-roots, then you would have had a completely unique dungeon to explore straight away even on new characters
It's not really an unpopular opinion to be honest, a majority of the people dislike the chalice dungeons. I did them with one of my characters and after that I had enough of them. There is a lack of good rewards, needs more variety in terms of architecture and design. Like you mentioned, the sense of discovery is somewhat gone considering that you have to do premade chalices first which are also extremely boring. If you actually start to do some root chalice dungeons, they often have more elements or surprises for you. It's a bit of a shame, I really like the concept and idea behind it but it just needs more work. The worst is that cooping chalices with a friends is an absolute pain in the ass and not intuitive, it takes to much time and it's just a hassle.
Anything lower than Pthumerian is a chore because they always have the sinister bell-ringing woman with 18 million red spiders.
It would be baller if there was some kind of in-game dungeon maker.
Seriously. Would love to see the great shit people could come up with. How I miss the heyday of HL and HL2 mods.
Seriously. Would love to see the great shit people could come up with. How I miss the heyday of HL and HL2 mods.
Insert a dungeon made of breakable floors leading to the abyss and nothing but turtle knights
Lost Sinner's a female, btw
Any in game clues to that? Super interesting. Or maybe I'm bad at noticing things. :v:

telling people to check item descriptions in dark souls like
I've played both DS1 and DeS on PS3 recently and it seemed just as active as ever to me.
That's strange, nobody summoned me nowdays. I'm level 200. Other people probably already like level 700 by now. It's been 4 years after all.
That's strange, nobody summoned me nowdays. I'm level 200. Other people probably already like level 700 by now. It's been 4 years after all.
For invasions and coop reasons, most people tend to stop around level 100-120. Good luck finding anyone if you're beyond that. [editline]27th June 2015[/editline] Also, cool little thing I noticed. When you light the sconces in Aldia's Keep to fight [sp]Forlorn[/sp] and get the Aldia's Key, these four torches on the wall right here light up corresponding to whichever sconces you lit up. Does anyone play vanilla DaS2? Thinking about doing another PvP build or should I just get SotFS
Does anyone play vanilla DaS2? Thinking about doing another PvP build or should I just get SotFS
According to Steam, the amount of online players in SotFS versus vanilla is really depressing. Like, SotFS completely eclipses over vanilla's tiny playerbase.
I still have both installed
i forgot how fun pvp in scholar was. had a fun time with a guy called caracal at FOTFG, we invaded eachother trying new builds everytime

I was such a lore fanatic in Dark Souls 1, but since this is my first time in Dark Souls 2 I'm just slashing and burning my way through as efficiency as I can to stay sane. Second playthrough is the much slower story focused one.
According to Steam, the amount of online players in SotFS versus vanilla is really depressing. I think messing around the other day I saw a total of one sign and it was outside of Undead Chariot. I'm not big on SotFS but it seems if I want to have active PvP I'll need to get it at some point and just play both versions.
is there a way i can give myself red eye orb withing farming them?
is there a way i can give myself red eye orb withing farming them?
Buy them from Brotherhood of Blood? Titchy, I think his name was.
Just wanted to share, probably the most entertaining Dark Souls related video I've seen in awhile.
Rr
Buy them from Brotherhood of Blood? Titchy, I think his name was.
Titchy Gren, yeah. He only sells orbs in NG+, but you can ascetic the fire right next to him for the same effect. Just remember that'll respawn the horse but hole ahead too.
