That skull has always puzzled me
The community has debated for a long time what that skull is, but no one really knows.
How's the claymore? Fuckin loved that shit in ds1.
Vendrick really picked the best Bodyguard he could have, I can't get past god damned Velstadt. There doesn't seem to be a window in which I can heal from his attacks aside from when he buffs up at 50%, and his attacks really hurt. Dunno how long he's been sat there waiting for Vendrick to come out, but he's as limber as he ever was.

When he does his rush (like a spear thrust) dodge and heal. You'll have enough time while he hoists the hammer back on his shoulder.
I passed through ash lake again and this is the first time I've actually looked at this thing. What the hell is it?

My first guess would be a dragon skull but the shape seems off.
It's just a skull meant to confuse players. That skull is also found next to the Rat King in the Grave of Saints in DS2, but much smaller.
But online, people are bitching that it's got shitty base damage and unless you're going 50/50 str/dex, long sword, fume sword, varangian, and drake keeper do more DMG and have better move sets.
Sun Sword has the best moveset. The longsword is okay but its moveset doesn't take advantage of its length. The Fume Sword is okay but it's more for pyromancers when it's fire infused. The Varangian Sword is a powerful sword thanks to its high base damage but it has a terrible moveset made up of almost nothing but awkward wide slashes.
16 tries but I beat Velstadt. I've now been directed by a friend to the middle fork of the Shaded Woods, I've bypassed this Kings Door (Forest of Giants led me to a tree I couldn't interact with, that makes 2 in that area). I think (but don't quote me) that I just killed the Knight of Mirrah's brother, he had the same hat and he was "Of Mirrah". And she did say she may have come here looking for him but it's all so hazy and whoaaah. Found an...automaton or something, who enjoys killing people. I only kill who I want to kill, and he'd probably direct me to someone really hard who I don't want to kill, bugger off mate.
Is Smough and Ornstein really as difficult as people make them out to be? I just arrived at Anor Londo and i'm not sure if im looking forward to the fight

It's really not that bad. If you're worried about it you can summon solaire and he can get the attention of one of the bosses.

As I recall, it's the first boss that is more than one person at a time whaling on you. They have different styles, slow and fast. You can avoid Biggie but Smalls has a far easier time catching up with you, meaning you have to juggle what you're doing. It's totally doable, but it's also an eye opener. And an arse-opener.

Gargoyles do the same on most people's first playthrough.

I completely forgot about Gargoyles, my bad. That said, the Gargoyles have the same moveset and function (one missing a tail aside as I recall), Biggie and Smalls have completely unique movesets and roles in the fight.
EDIT: Dark Souls Facebook page Admin just linked the Dunkstein and Slamough cover as one of the best pieces of Dark Souls music covers. I love this guy, whoever he is.
k, i fuckin suck at pvp.

I guess this makes a March release even more likely?
Also, wonder what the pre-order bonus is going to be.
i hope there's going to be a "deluxe" edition with a cool-ass figure
[editline]2[/editline]
can you link where you found that by the way?
Fuck the Flamelurker. Can't do shit to this guy as melee
I fought Flamelurker with Demonbrandt.

Looks like standard longsword with no sheild and that red knight armor will be the John Darksouls III run equipment
Hope they do another shield design contest.

just noticed this

hopefuly it'll be out on the first or second month (I CAN ATLEAST HOPE)
Any time a game says it'll release December 31st, it's a placeholder date. I wouldn't be too hopeful for a January or February release though. Early 2016 or Q1 can mean up to April.

i still wonder if these guys are Balder knights
edit: maybe gamewise they're just "generic undead knights"
Which way should i go after sinner's rise, huntsman copse or shaded woods?
either
Which way should i go after sinner's rise, huntsman copse or shaded woods?
Copse leads do a super swag amount of upgrade materials, shaded woods leads to some sweet items and, in general, more stuff and areas. Either are a good next step.
Yeah, started doing shaded woods but all the guides (to make sure i haven't missed out on important loot) suggest doing huntsman next.
took me forever to get this far but
i finally got the bell helm
Its crazy how long it's taking me to complete scholar of the first sin + DLC completely. This game is long as hell.
Making every dollar count.
"Man this the third time this Forlorn guy has invaded me and I've kicked his ass. I am a PvP god."
The Forlorn are a group of recurring NPC dark spirits in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.
