So, for the past week I have been stuck at Fume Knight.
It doesn't matter if I try him all by myself or summon 1 or 2 phantoms, this guy is a fucking joke.
No way to beat him, you'd have to be rolling 100% perfectly the whole fight, which takes ages because he has fucking resistance against EVERYTHING you can throw at him.
Actually, I don't want to be a whiny bitch, but he effectively killed all my motivation for dark souls 2.
Guess that's how you go hollow.
i see somebody doesn't have enough agl :v:
try unequipping all armor for better stamina regeneration. don't use a shield if you have been, it doesn't really help.
lastly, this probably is the least helpful but i'd love to coop this boss if you'd like. haven't played this game in a while.

I punched him to death just last week actually.

Kinda with you here, he took me so long to kill that I took a massive break from DS2 before I finished him. He wasn't particularly hard but he took so long to kill that -eventually- I made a mistake and his damage made those mistakes extremely unforgiving. I've only ever fought him on NG+, because of my main character was in NG+ when the DLC got released. What NG tier/soul memory are you at?
This game is just no fun in offline mode.
TBH dark souls has felt like it's in offline mode for me for quite a while, I get invaded occasionally by either a hacker or a really questionable build that I just beat down really quickly but I see summon signs like once ever 5 hours, tops

I stopped blocking after trying it one time, heh.
I managed to keep my heavily upgraded armor while still being at ~50% loadout (soldier and third dragon ring) but I always fail at the second phase, when he ignites his sword and gets the new moveset. Getting kinda desperate, however your "least helpful" tip seems to be the most helpful to me. Im at about 2m SM, still the normal playthrough not NG+. I'd be glad to get some real help there, as most summons I encounter just die after delivering 4-5 hits to him, leaving me with the stronger fume knight alone, haha.
So, if you're up to it, we can do it.

Normal tier, about 2m sm. I will check it tomorrow to deliver more precise info about the SM as it's kinda late here in Germany now.

Well, who can survive a Lord Lift encounter anyways man. :v:
And yeah, I actually didn't invest in adaptility or whatever it was at all. The build I am using is called "Dayman" and is basically STR/Faith with medium Health and enough loadout capacity to carry a good heavy armor along with a 100% phys shield while still avoiding the fatroll

I can play any time tomorrow, add me on steam and shoot me a message any time I'm online. I'm at 1.3m but I can raise that a bit if we need to.

Dang, no characters in NG at the DLC right now, sorry man. Best of luck with other jolly co-operations
I love how you can hear the tapping of the buttons sometimes throughout the video.
I really need to get a PS3 just so i can play Demon's Souls.
This is why poise is a thing in DaS1.
This is why poise is a thing in DaS1.
And the reason I will never ever wear the bushwood armor. I made a knight character and rushed getting it (Got it right after killing Phalanx) only to discover it's damage negation is negligible and you still just get obliterated because no poise.
last night i was invaded more in one session than i have been since i started ds2. most of the time i almost beat them, leaving them with one more hit.
then i summoned a dragon covenant guy and he would not stop healing himself
what a cunt
Today I got summoned to a rat covenant guy
Thought 'yeah im gonna die' but he was a weak shithead casting weak magic and using a dex weapon, I almost killed him and he started running away looking for enemies to help him.
We were in grave of saints so soon like 5 rats were chasing me but I managed to kill them. He didn't have any enemy to help him out so he climbed a ladder and tried to cast shit at me. I dodged every spell and after 5 minutes of taunting him to come down I started pretending i'm afk.
He fell for it and tried to backstab me, then I killed him.
It's not an amazing kill but it was so satisfying for some reason.
people who try to drag you towards mobs are the worst.
it's like "i'm not stupid i ain't gonna fall for that"
but they keep trying
That's why i always keep a bow or greatbow on hand. Chip damage or knocking them on their ass when they try running.
Oh boy, i'm re having a blast at Dks1 after fixing some frame rate issues.
I'm getting sick using the Black Knight Greatsword, any strenght weapon that can be fun on PvE?

I'll never not recommend the Demon Great Machete. The Stone Greataxe is also an awesome strength weapon.
Really interested in buying darksouls 2. I wont be able to afford the dlc at first though. Will this put me behind other player in pvp? I dont really understand how invasions work

if you have a ps4 or are gonna get it for pc wait for the new version to come out if you want dlc and better graphics. the only shitty part is you can only play with people who have that same version.

april

I had to readjust my graphic card, my computer and setting low quality and resolution. Sadly i keep disconnecting so it's just offline which is a shame.

That works too.
I just finished the first Dark Souls and i'm about to tackle the second one but I really want to mod the game first. No stat boosting or anything, just graphic mods and the like but I was told to be careful because there's some heavy VAC placed in this game.
How bad is it? I just want to make my game look pretty so I don't have to buy it again (scholar)
It has an ENB that's been discontinued, but works decently for a little added shader tweaking (There are some objects / lighting settings in game that the ENB settings don't touch / can't change though).
[editline]31st January 2015[/editline]
ENB won't VAC ban you, I've been playing with it since it came out a while ago.

there's no vac. there used to be one but it got removed because it banned people who were vacbanned in other games.
Thanks for the response guys. Hopefully I have as much fun with this one as I did with Dark Souls.
Hey so I just discovered the blacksmiths hammer in my last playthrough. For some reason when I backstabbed the knights in front of Velsdadt's boss fight the backstab damage would keep leaping between ~660 and ~1000. Anybody know why that'd be?
