Wait, so her name ISNT "the Albino Tarantu-Lady" like I thought it was????? What????
Speaking of Quelaag's Sister, I almost felt bad for killing Eingyi in front of her (I thought he was just a typical eggsack enemy, not an NPC), but it's kind of funny how she doesn't react in any way.
I like Eingyi's voice acting

Wait, he's not?
Fuuuck, I just did that.

Nice one, dofus.
What's next, you gonna merc the Kingseeker?
(I'm just as guilty cause I select 'No')
I killed Elizabeth in Oolacile when I met her for the first time because I mistook her for an enemy.
Then I heard her dying scream and I was like "FUCK :Y"

I always select "No" by accident because I smash the A button through his dialogue as I've heard it a hundred times.
Then I have to kill him, no choice

Do you watch it or do you go dark for 2 months though
I haven't watched it yet but apparently it shows[sp]The hub and how fast travel works on top of the opening cinematic[/sp]
[editline]19:56[/editline]
I watched it. No regrets, the whole opening sequence answers some questions but raises even more, for sure it's a lot better than DS2's
Vague Bloodborne spoilers ahead;
[sp]The game begins in a sort of similar way to demon's and dark gameplay wise though maybe not quite as spectacularly[/sp]
[sp]The hub seems slightly creepy but cosy, and is lit by moonlight, in contrast to sunny Majula. In the background all you can see is what reminds me of Ash Lake's trees but emerging out of a dense fog[/sp]
[sp]two weapon slots for left hand, two for right, and head/torso/hand/leg clothing slots[/sp]
[sp]There's a new particle effect that looks like orange streaks that signifies that you have orange health that you can regain[/sp]
[sp]There are only six stats, four recognisable from previous souls games - separate spoiler if you don't want to know exactly what they are -[/sp] [sp]Vitality, Endurance, Strength, Skill (probably like dexterity), Bloodtinge, Arcane[/sp]
[sp]There are also two additional stats that don't seem to be level-able, specifically;[/sp] [sp]Insight, with an eye icon, and Blood echoes[/sp]
[sp]There was a little messenger in a bath in the hub that you could trade blood echoes with to get weapons and items[/sp]
[sp]Fast travel available from the start. I'm a little disappointed about this, but hopefully the checkpoint placement isn't against all reason in certain places like it was in DS2, and the checkpoint distance is enough for you to still have to deliberate the risk of continuing or going back to spend your currency[/sp]
[sp]The opening level is lit by a massive sun (you can see it at 15:00) and the moon in the hub level looks massive as well, bit weird[/sp]
[sp]Just something I noticed, criticals didn't seem to increase the amount of "blood points" gained from enemies (the counter in the top right) so clearly doing criticals serves some other purpose, maybe blood echoes[/sp]
[sp]guns make an explosion sound when they hit, I don't think they did this before?[/sp]
[sp]The starting hood has a mask integrated into it - http://i.imgur.com/PI4k80Y.png[/sp]
[sp]I noticed some decent ambient occlusion effects going on, particularly behind the leaves in the hub, which reminded me of DSFix's SSAO. Game looks nice basically[/sp]
Maybe someone should create a separate Bloodborne thread? We're going to be getting a lot of information this month and iirc some people didn't want BB stuff spilling into this thread
[editline]21:00[/editline]
ah, from reading the OP this is the Demon's souls, Dark souls and Bloodborne thread it seems
[editline]21:26[/editline]
few more things people pointed out on reddit
[sp]Insight is probably item discovery, Bloodtinge might be increased regain (pure speculation)[/sp]
[sp]If an enemy kills you, they absorb your blood and you have to kill them to get it back (signified by glowing eyes with trails on them - you can see the before/after of this on the enemy at the start of the preview, + 'blood transfusion' as BB's 'humanity restored')[/sp]
I might go dark after this, I remember seeing Majula in a stream and spoiling it for myself when I first saw it ingame
Continuing my Capra Cultist build recreation stream from yesterday. Went for 8 hours yesterday, not sure how long I'll go today.

Finally got Ornstein souls, it took 3 or 4 tries today with a fresh mind.
In the end all i had to do is simply being glued to Smough and see Ornstein's instant dash attack spazzing out (it happened to do some sort of zig zag dash from mid left column to right top column), that's some RNG.
So anyone else think the messangers in Bloodborne are cute in a creepy/disgusting way?

Man, makes you wonder what the final boss of BB will be
I hope it's not another king (or queen - ugh)
Man, Max is the coolest guy.
I got a new pc and totally forgot to back up my ds2 save data. The journey is over for my poor characters, they will be missed.

This one in particular because that helmet took quite a while to get.

I just love everything I've seen about Bloodborne so far.
I love the improved take on the Souls hud where it's minimalist, but doesn't lose its function; the Victorian setting where you are required to have a loose piece of cloth on your shoulders to be considered cool; and the new title the player gets of [sp]Hunter[/sp], which is simple, but effective. The blood, which is one of the focal points of the game is also what it does best; it's a splatterhouse and it decorates your character in a beautiful way.
The sound design in Bloodborne is what really catches my attention in this game, it's absolutely marvelous. The grating friction of your weapon is satisfying, the gush of blood that splatters when you slash at your victim gives your weapon that delicious impact; the shouts of your enemies that's mixed with fear and ire, and the distant screams and noises that easily makes the world more vibrant and terrifying. It's an entire art on its own right.
It's becoming more difficult for me to not throw my money to buy a PS4 just to get this game.
This is literally the only game I've ever been financially prepared for.
the sounds the cleric beast made where scary as fuck
This is literally the only game I've ever been financially prepared for.
I was financially prepared until the New 3DS announcement of a Feb 13th release along with Monster Hunter 4 and Majora's Mask releasing on the same day, but I think that purchase should get me some major points for GameStop's reward program so I guess that kinda works out.
the shouts of your enemies that's mixed with fear and ire,
This is what really caught my attention when he was fighting the enemies in this playthrough.
I think they may have updated the voice clips, I know that the NPCs will often call you a monster or tell you to get back.
But I've never actually heard them call for Help and their screams just sorta get more panicked too. It's a cool detail.
On the topic of dark souls, I'm ready for that free update in 3 more days.
The free update is pretty much everything from the rerelease minus the new multiplayer stuff and updated graphics right?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the rerelease might have some different enemy placement?
Does anyone have the chart?

i'm sold on bloodborne after watching that 18min video. is there a retailer thats selling the steelbook for less than amazon?
Oh fuck i forgot about the patch.
I forgot we were so close to it

The acapella version makes it sound like an underwater level in an adventure / point & click game. That, or still an underwater or jungle level in an old sonic game or something you'd hear from Sonic Adventure 1/2.
Its got such a nostalgic feel to it somehow, sounds really cool, I don't usually dig this type of video but this one sounds so much better than his others.
that's kinda stupid that the DX11 version won't let you use saves or do pvp with anyone using dx9 version
like honestly, there's no good reason for it. Even if you count new enemy placement that's a really stupid reason because that's something they could easily add to the regular version of DS2. They're really fucking up all of this, especially by making PC users pay for the graphics upgrade and adding all these limitations. It's like those download sites that make you wait 30 seconds for a gimped free download and want you to pay ~only a dollar a month!~ for the ~premium~ download.
