Well, I decided to resume my Komrade Yuri playthrough after a long absence. I have, however, hit a brick wall with Velstadt. For a character who can only use hammers and sickles, what's a good strategy? I know he's weak to lightning and I can do some damage, but I am way out of practice with this game and keep getting hit, which takes off a good 1/2 my health.
Dodge until you see an opening, then jump attack and roll away.
Damn, traffic around the Grand Cathedral is getting low. I've been waiting way too long for summons. I'm starting to think about just giving up on the Loyce Souls thing and just head straight to the Throne Of Want to finish the game.
i don't think i've seen this screenshot before or i probably did and just forgot but i am in love with the boss designs in bloodborne so far. they actually look incredibly threatening and terrifying. look at this guy, he's wearing a silly hat and a bell necklace but i would be absolutely terrified to fight him. Okay, I have no clue how long I've been engaging in Jolly Co-operation for the sake of Loyce Souls, but I've gotten up tro 37 of them now. I'm seriously starting to wonder if I'd be willing to do this a second time if I ever decide to make a new character rather than just bring this one to NG+. I mean, the next time I play this game will be a while from now, how will I know whether or not the online community will be as active as it is now? From Software made a huge mistake in making this such a grind. Hopefully they'll realize this and do something about it (something that isn't "make it even more rare just to spite everyone"). I guess I'll finish up the Loyce Grind tomorrow. Right now it's less for the rewards and more because I've gone to far to give up now. And also Alsanna's dialogue whenever I reach a new tier is actually kinda interesting. Also, I went ahead and visited Vendrick for the last time and got his blessings for the crowns. So for the remainder of the playthrough at least I won't have to worry about hollowing (although you can't go hollow when summoned and I only have one last fight after this).

I was just playing through Dark Souls 2 normally, trying to finish a simple NG playthrough. I forgot about the whole Scholars of the First Sin update entirely and was just simply playing at this point. Then I attempted to light my final Primal Bonfire after Dukes Dear Freja and I almost shit my pants.

Also since rushing and getting Yorgh's Spear (thanks Jaehead), the game has become almost trivial, not like it wasn't to begin with. YS +2 buffed with fire helped me kill the Dual Dragonriders in like a minute, it's awesome.
Aldia's theme is very melancholy, I've found out. so as a thought experiment, I paired it up with rainymood. It's actually pretty relaxing.
I decided to let the Brightstone's primal bonfire to be the last, just because i can see Vengarl's body blasted away whenever i lit :v:
Just co-oped with a friend through all of dark souls for his first playthrough. I still let him fall for mimics n shit for good fun.
IMO it's best to learn things the hard way on your first playthrough.
Got all the weapon upgrade achievements in DkS1 today. Never again Whoever thought of that path to the blue titanite slab in the crystal cave, thanks. Died like 5 times trying to get there.
Looks like Scholar of the First Sin finally got some box art [t]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91HbzjrYu1L._SL1500_.jpg[/t]
... Is that Artorias' sword I see?
Nope. It's a Dark Sword. Already in the game files. Also this guy is gonna be DX11 npc invader.
all i know is that i want that guy's fucking hood the hexer's hood sort of got the job done, but because it was so ugly colored it never worked out for fashin souls i wanted
If my brother gets it for ps4 I'll consider buying it, discount or not.
I'm having a hard time justifying buying the update on or near release. Bloodborne is out two weeks earlier and is guaranteed to give me a fresher experience than some new enemy placements. Slightly more expensive, yeah, but not many downsides I can see otherwise. I'll definitely pick it up when it goes on the Summer Sale, though.

You know with the Leydia White set or Retainer's Robe you could do a pretty good Darklurker cosplay. I can't be assed to try and get the hidden weapon rings though.
Does PvE dark magic in DkS1 one shot you on NG+7? I've been trying to kill Manus on NG+ and the mage killed me more than Manus himself because her orbs kill me in 2 hits

Honestly it'd be best to position yourself in a way they can't hit you and either rush them and stagger them to death or try to pick them off with a bow.
Alright I killed every boss except for Gwyn, should I kill all NPC's before going to NG++? I'm gonna kill chester for his armour set but I'm not sure if there's a point in killing anyone else

That's all I know for items you can only get from NPCs.
Finally finished the Loyce Soul grind. I think before I take on the Throne Of Want, I'm going to back up my save so I can replay the fight and experience both endings. I don't know how long it'll be until I play this game again so I might as well take the time to experience both endings now. Also, with that constant grind I kinda owe it to myself to spend a little more time doing what Dark Souls was made for: fighting bosses and being a badass.
You could just look up whatever one you don't choose on YouTube.
You could just look up whatever one you don't choose on YouTube.
Like I said, after spending so much time grinding for bullshit I didn't really need, I owe it to myself to have myself a few more boss fights to get back into what Dark Souls was made for.
It's a shame they didn't remaster Dark Souls instead. It would have been cool to have the cloth physics and caestus mechanics in it. Also better fps and such would be a bonus as well. :v:
Alright, I'm done. Honestly, I didn't find the True Final Boss as awesome as people claimed him to be. He just kinda stands there and takes your hits, and all of his attacks are easily dodged. Still, I've completed the game. I've taken a screenshot of my character in the armor set I completed the game with and the stats I've reached with all the souls I've gotten over the course of the game. [img_thumb]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/706273787339016462/B87900B709368D89E882B69637B4F8362F15DB76/[/img_thumb] How's this for someone who has completed the game for the first time? I probably wouldn't have gotten as high a level if I hadn't accidentally killed Ornifex and used her for some boss soul items, and also if I hadn't spent so much time grinding for Loyce Souls. I probably should have used the Agape Ring at some point to control my Soul Memory, because that's pretty damn high. That's just what I'm thinking, what about you guys?
Doesn't really matter in the end. Also i will forever be disappointed that the Eastern set and Iron Round Shield didn't make it into DS2. Finding it super hidden somewhere would have been cool. Instead we get stuff like HERE HAVE AN ORNSTEIN AND OH SHIT GUYS ARTORIAS RIGHT?
