Demon's souls is really odd to me. The bosses are some of the easiest in the souls series, while the actual levels are fairly hard (no thanks to some bullshit-difficulty things thrown in there), I mean damn, I think I counted 5 fucking Dragon Bridges like the one in Dark Souls, all of which instakill you.
The flying manta ray things on the shrine of storms are total bullshit and make an already hard level near impossible if you don't spend 40 minutes trying to shoot them.
Which one of you is this?

What would be the best armor / equipment for a Dante (Devil May Cry 3 or 4) cosplay?

Probably have to use the Black Robes for the body.

I found the Thief's Ring counters that problem, but then again, it counters half the game including some bosses.
Jesus everyone in pvp is using that backstep parry trick and it's game-breaking.

Don't spam your attacks like a maniac and you should be fine.

Not me but I do have a brass Ornstein helmet. And a full set incoming in a few months.

It's not a 100% replica of the original but atleast it's a functional piece.

You should then start to actually think what the enemy is gonna try to do and bait that shit.
What's a good standard strength weapon for Demon Souls? Longsword has been helping me quite a bit
dragon bone smasher

bastard sword, then claymore, then DB smasher.
whats a good melee weapon for a faith orientated build? been using Heide knight sword +10 for some time now but would love to try something else
I was a big fan of the Dragonslayer Spear for my Faith run.

Some insight to the broken mechanics and systems in DS2.
I guess the dragon bone masher is from that Dragon that punched me in the tutorial, oh sweet.

Piece of advice, be sure to play offline if you want it! Dealing with the world tendency system is really finicky and can mess up a little while you're online, and you have to have Pure White in order to get the sword.

No it isn't, don't mash R1 for a follow up if you see them backstep(or unless you land the first hit). Or delay your second strike, or make it an R2 instead so the timing is different. Backstep parries are great when you can pull them off but you can't do it against somebody that doesn't throw out R1s constantly.

Another note, kill yourself in the nexus every time you revive to body form. Body form deaths move world tendency towards black, but tendency doesn't matter in the nexus.
last time i played through psn was down so i didnt even need to worry about invasions lol
I will say something for Demons souls, some of the locations are great. The tower of latria and the shrine of storms in particular.
Welp finished DS2 NG+7
To celebrate I started invading random people just to literally throw shit at them

So this is why i keep seeing people killing themselfes in the Nexus
So, was the DLC for DS2 as good as the one for DS1? Or, at least, was it worth the dosh?
Yeah but it seemed like it broke faster than usual even accounting for that, maybe just me. Also so bullshit that they didn't bother fixing one of the most glaring issues.
honestly, I capped ds2 at 30 fps, and played PVP for a bit, tried to test durability and did not notice a single difference.
it was MAYBE better for rolling, but I can't even tell, even though I've done so much PVP before.
most of it seems to be a placebo effect. I didn't test the numbers but I remember looking up what the difference was and durability wise it made a difference that was so slight it wouldn't have actually changed anything. (I think the difference was like 0.08 or less?)
also, that roll rumor is so dumb. You can probably react faster at 60+ fps anyways, and the durability thing is just... why even bother.
I've seen 3 or 4 the last two months. :v:

the added loss of durability is actually fairly big, close to twice as much and even more in some cases
Hitting an enemy after they've reached 0HP but before they "die" causes durability loss, too.

Just whacking a ragdoll with your weapon causes major durability loss, it's fucking ridiculous.

Trying to parry a friendly phantom causes durability loss as well.
Trying to parry a friendly phantom causes durability loss as well.
If you hit any entity, whether it be a friendly phantom or an enemy, you're going to lose a lot of durability. It makes the game artificially difficult.
On other hand it makes getting Santiers Spear much easier so the bug is totally worth it right?
