I saw my first vagrant today in the depths. 500+ hours.
[editline]4th March 2015[/editline]
it got away and vanished as well.
My first vagrant was one of the hostile instagib homing soulmass ones. It was in the area of the dick archers in anor londo on one of my first attempts to pass them, needless to say I was pretty sure at that point dark souls was just fucking with me
Was just looking at some concept art and man, talking about thoze legs.

he didn't skip leg day
Praise the leg lift machine!
Swolaire of Liftstora, on his quest to press his own Sun!
all these leg puns
and the only thing i can think of is "pimpin' ain't easy"

/fit/ sounds like star trek technobabble to me
Glad I decided to kill that bastard on top of Fool's Idol. If it wasn't for that clear not examinable yellow glow, I would have let him live for real.
It reminded me the Channelor's buff so it sort of helped (which reminds me gaping dragon fight) also goddamn the gargoyles/demon cutscene is the same

Now I really feel like doing impressions of those :v:
Perhaps once I get some alone time in this house.
is it possible to run DS2 at 120/144hz? I'm aware of weapon degradation, would just be fun to give it a shot
I think it has an FPS cap of 60, never saw it go higher than that and I know my PC can handle it.
yeah, there's definitely a cap. I suppose my question is if it's possible to remove or increase that cap through a tool like GeDoSaTo
Gamesradar posted a pretty decent article about Dark Souls.
http://www.gamesradar.com/why-dark-souls-simply-greatest-game-all-time/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=owned
The author also references another article he wrote a few paragraphs in and that's worth a read as well.
dark souls is great. i'm currently going through it for the second time while i'm waiting for bloodborne and it's a blast. the world is really well put together and interesting to explore.
the game does have some pretty huge flaws with it that people don't really seem to mention. flaws that are especially more apparent after you've played dark souls 2. my biggest issue is how your objective in the game is a little too vague at times. i'd be very surprised if more than half of the people that finished the game managed to do so without using a walkthrough at least once in their playthrough. you'd literally be spending an extra 10+ hours on top of your game time just looking where to go without using a guide. (this is even more painful without being able to warp around)
other issues include the garbage upgrade system, gimmicky bosses, terrible inventory, online issues, empty level design at times, and confusing mechanics that often don't get explained. despite all that it's still a great game which says a lot about how fun and rewarding the overall gameplay is, but you really have to put in a lot of effort in order to enjoy it. it's a double edged sword which makes the game super satisfying and rewarding, but also frustrating and easy to give up on if you don't have the patience.
if dark souls had the less jankier gameplay of dark souls 2 and had a little more time spent on some later environments then i'd say it's pretty close to being as good as that article states.
so today, i started a playthrough with an estoc just to see what the fuss was about and..

for background info, this is a SL58 character with 12 str and 12 dex. obviously, it's not going to have the outright AR of ultra class weapons, but the amount of hits you can get inbetween lets it outdamage pretty much everything else in the game, and no doubt the strongest weapon for the amount of levels invested. it's almost stupid how strong this is.
Doesn't beat a Rapier
Which in turn doesn't beat the Espada Ropera.
That lately gets beaten by an Ice Rapier
Nothing beats the Bonefist :v:
Nothing beats the smelter hammer... [sp]everything beats the smelter hammer[/sp]

I still don't get how people can get lost in Dark Souls. If you talk to all the NPCs and check out the keys you find, you always know where to go. It's more about exploring and memorizing things, much like in the good old King's Field days.
Also, which bosses do you prefer from Dark Souls 2? I found most of them to be pretty lackluster and boring. The environments are also much less interesting and can be as empty as Dark Soul's most barren places. Or even worse. Remember the primal bonfire rooms? They're literally hollowed squares.

Seeing how it's fire-infused, I assume you've leveled up FTH and INT to increase the fire scaling?
There's only like 3 bosses I can think of in Dark Souls that are designed terribly.
Capra Demon
Bed of Chaos
The Four Kings (Mainly because summoning for this boss makes it a fucking pain).

nah, 6 int 6 faith. that's what i thought was crazy about this, how it can do this kind of damage at base requirements.
and yeah you guys are right, the estoc does have a lower base damage compared to the espada and the rapier but its range, sweep attack, and poise damage makes it better than those two imo. and ice rapier.. i've seen people complaining about ice rapier but i didn't know it was that strong until i looked it up today.

I always thought infusions were useless if you weren't leveling up FTH or INT. Infusing it with fire always lowers the base damage and the trade-off for fire damage isn't strong enough unless you use Flame Weapon to further buff it.
Right now I'm using an Estoc +10 with 40 strength and infusing it with fire only weakens it dramatically, even if I buff it with Flame Weapon.

Pinwheel though
Pinwheel though
The idea was to make him a glass cannon in a "tiny" room so you would play a bullet hell game. They didn't want to go for the obvious Demon's Soul version which was much larger and had pillars.
But still do agree, it was terrible but in super easy way
Iirc pinwheel was a joke from the start
I don't even think they intended for Pinwheel to be hard
This is probably true but the fact that he gives you the right of kindling which makes the game pretty easy if you know what youre doing is hilarious.
