I heard SotFS is a lot harder than the original. It was tough enough getting the illusory rings the first time so I probably won't be buying, because I can't sleep at night without my favourite shield-hiding ring.
I honestly can say that it is harder due to the amount of enemy addition and placements but it's really fun.
How good are the npc invaders now? Are they on par with the dlc?
I kinda hope not. DLC Invaders are beyond insane. They gave them much better AI, which is awesome, but they kept the infinite stamina, spell castings, and gigantic health pool.

Speaking of Forlorn though, his armor is some cool stuff. Well, that is some god damn retarded enemy placement. Who even thought this was a good idea ?
Well, that is some god damn retarded enemy placement. Who even thought this was a good idea ?
Most of it isn't even hard, it's just unfair. Some of them literally just drop out of the skies on top of your head and stunlock you.
Not mine.
Most of it isn't even hard, it's just unfair.
[sp]They're all non-hostile by default and only attack if you refuse to fight a challenger in each area.[/sp]
i actually kinda like that better
I cant believe how quickly I was able to max out the dragon covenant yet the invasion covenants are nearly impossible to complete
i actually kinda like that better
I like it in concept but even one is kind of a pain in the ass if you're off your game, let alone a billion of them.
Now that repairing a ring of life protection in the Scholar of the First Sin edition costs 14,000 souls instead of the 3000 it used to be... I'm actually quite happy with it. Felt too easy at first, and now I can make [sp]Tree whipping[/sp] runs to get all my rings repaired when they break.

expensive repairs and soul memory do not mix.
I bought the game at it's original price and the DLC at it's original price, should I buy the dx11 upgrade or nah?
I bought the game at it's original price and the DLC at it's original price, should I buy the dx11 upgrade or nah?
Definitely no. It's only worth it if you don't have the dlc. And even that is subjective. I'm kinda wishing I just got the dlc for the original instead. Some of the enemy placement just drains the fun out of areas.

The experience feels fresh, areas have layout changes and NPC placement not only adds challenge, but makes more sense. There are fewer out of place NPCs, and everything feels more immersive, it drew me in almost as well as Dark Souls 1 did. Yes, I acknowledge it's just bamco moneygrabbing, but I'm an enthusiast. I'll shell out. Simple example: [sp]Duke's Archives, near the Freyja boss room. Spiders are everywhere, walls, ceilings, on pillars, crawling on the undersides of webs, and can't be locked on to until they become active. Really forces you to look around for enemies before you do anything or go anywhere, and it feels a lot more... unsettling, as you descend into the web.[/sp] So much better than how bland the experience was on the original. I only regret that the original wasn't like this. Also, the DX11 capability has its moments. My biggest grip with sotfs is you walk into completely empty area, then you get another area with ~2 enemies and boom - suddenly you get swarmed with enemies. Also falconers have broken running animation.
suddenly you get swarmed with enemies.
from's solution to "making it harder" - just throw in more enemies!
Earthen Peak is the first area so far thats been changed enough to casue me hassle. lost 50k souls to theguy who sneak attacks on first stairs after jabba
from's solution to "making it harder" - just throw in more enemies!
If you equip the butchers knife you can pretend you're actually playing bloodborn

Then again, how are you supposed to get the Ruin Sentinel armor without those guys to farm?
[t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/711907722925468397/10AA70920DC7B20A4E37A6B1570718A8AB0727AC/[/t] I can only imagine how "amazing" this place will be on NG+.
That image doesn't say difficulty, it says to me how much more I would need to cheese that room :v:
Just use a bow to aggro them individually, now you can farm chunks and slabs even more efficiently.
Aren't they aggro only when you walk past them?
Just use a bow to aggro them individually, now you can farm chunks and slabs even more efficiently.
I farmed my chunks and slabs in the Aerie but okay. Oh ALSO, has the tiling in iron keep and shaded woods been improved?
