does SotFS still have the sixty fps bug? im just past the first bonfire and my sword is fucked, also those new placements nearly fucked me up
My favorite "bonfire in the middle of shadow" is still there. [t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/711907722925908278/F558B93AE8A335A9F95FAA624C0D4813763D5282/[/t] Also, Shrine of Amana is so fucked up now.
Durability is still bugged yeah.
does this update they made support 120fps? and as someone who has spent 500hours in ds2 should I get this update anyways?
Should I get this? I plan to get this on the xbox one when it comes out, I got it on the xbox 360 when it came out and one dlc.
jesus fucking christ i'm glad they decided to give the black pursurer an increased chance of using that hex affinity shit that also curses you in ~2 hits that is practically guaranteed to hit you at low levels geez

Fuck it, I'm getting the upgrade.

I do actually like the new enemy placement when its not just a huge mob though. Fun to be taken by surprise again
so i got dark souls and attacked the guy next to the bonfire at lordran or whatever it's called and i can't kill him help

Fun to be taken by surprise again
To be fair, from a comparison I saw; [sp]Those guys are all asleep and you can single them out for the most part.[/sp]
Yes, they're sleeping but it doesnt change the fact that they just dumped a lot of enemies in there. They also have included a lot more enemies appearing behind you. It just seems kinda cheap in places.
I'm going to assume SOTFS isn't worth buying? Or maybe wait until it goes on sale?
so i got dark souls and attacked the guy next to the bonfire at lordran or whatever it's called and i can't kill him help
Don't attack friendly NPCs, some of them are very useful.
I'm going to assume SOTFS isn't worth buying? Or maybe wait until it goes on sale?
if you dont have the DLC you might as well because I'm pretty sure it's the same price as the season pass
Yeah I'd say 100% worth buying if you dont own the DLC, and worth buying if you own the DLC but want to play through the game again with a new twist. Its like the NG+ that I wanted since the first Souls game, completely different enemy placement that takes you by surprise after you thought you knew everything about the game. if you're just a solid PVPer with no interest in PVE I doubt its worth buying unless most players migrate to the servers.
They way I see it, the update is worth the price in nearly every case. The lighting is better even though it's just really some better lighting and shading but you can see the difference clearly. True, it's not like you just stare up into the air and be like "omg this looks so gorgeous now" but as someone earlier in the thread already said, the Old knights for example really look sexy now. About the enemy placement: I haven't been through heide yet as I am having trouble with those Special forces Heide Knights who keep rushing me, but till there it didn't feel like they just dumped additional enemies in there but some of them really are somewhat hidden and hard to spot until you engage and they come out, so it intensifies the old dark souls 1 need to look out for hidden things or threats. In my opinion the update is worth the cost in all cases if you only own the main game or none of it at all. And even then, if you're a hardcore fan or just really liked DS2, this will be also worth it if you already had the DLC in the first place, since the price will only be 15€ or something.
jesus fucking christ i'm glad they decided to give the black pursurer an increased chance of using that hex affinity shit that also curses you in ~2 hits that is practically guaranteed to hit you at low levels geez
Oh come on. You can NEVER get hit by that shit if you're smart. When you see the animation start, run up to him, stand behind him, and beat the crap out of him. He'll spew out his orbs, but so long as you're hugging his back they'll all miss you. [editline]3rd April 2015[/editline] Unless I'm some kind of retard and misunderstood you, Moopsie. Black Pursuer? Oh. The spell. Disregard, I suck cocks.
When you see the animation start, run up to him, stand behind him, and beat the crap out of him. He'll spew out his orbs, but so long as you're hugging his back they'll all miss you.
Typically the first thing I do when I see bosses and minibosses do some sort of charge ala The Rotten, the Thundercats, Dragonslayer, Nashandra, Elana and what have you, it's not gonna be a attack that simply shoots out some orbs, it usually has some AoE attack too.
Black Pursuer?
It's just the variant that you will randomly encounter, in addition to already being powered up with curses.
With any sort of spell charge, I tend to back away instead of run forward. Hardly anything has an attack spread (Except the dragon's fire breath, and maybe a few other exceptions) and if it's a homing attack, like crystal homing soulmass or that soul spear homing thing Najka does, they all converge to a point after a certain distance making dodging easier.
does chopping off tails and stuff drop anything different now?
SOTFS still doesn't work either
what was the "YOU DIED" screen in the initial release of the first game? i feel like it or the boss-kill screen was horribly mistranslated when it was released
My biggest grip with sotfs is you walk into completely empty area, then you get another area with ~2 enemies and boom - suddenly you get swarmed with enemies. Also falconers have broken running animation.
Actually I sort of liked that, too. See, the way I've always approached the Souls Series is an "It hurts so good" mentality. The harder it gets, (barring complete bullshit, anyway) the more I like it. The thing about the new enemy placement is that they're all there, visible. They can be taken out one by one before they're triggered, and no matter how many playthroughs of the old game you've already done, you always feel nervous entering a new area, always do your best to look carefully at everything before proceeding. In the original Dark Souls 2, enemies were lined up in front of you like toy soldiers. Now, if you find an area that used to be full of enemies but looks suspiciously empty, you'll advance with your head on a swivel and your guard up.
What's new in shrine of amana? in SOTFS
What's new in shrine of amana? in SOTFS
It's mostly the same. I've never had a problem with that area before so it's still just as easy. The biggest change is there is an avoidable dragon rider down there and there's a few extra enemies in one small part of Amana.

Like that doesn't even make sense why a Dragon Rider would be at Shrine of Amana
That's random as shit. Like that doesn't even make sense why a Dragon Rider would be at Shrine of Amana
Well, Dragon Riders are soldiers of the king. The one in Shrine of Amana is on the path guarding the doorway to his soul.
Well, Dragon Riders are soldiers of the king. The one in Shrine of Amana is on the path guarding the doorway to his soul.
Yeah i think they went on thinking that adding another Syan Knight on guard would have been quite boring or simple meh.
