where did they move the cardinal tower shard?
what was the "YOU DIED" screen in the initial release of the first game? i feel like it or the boss-kill screen was horribly mistranslated when it was released
The boss victory screen in Dark Souls 1 was originally "YOU DEFEATED" or something like that.
How do you get to the DLC areas? The doors just say they're locked. Is there something special I'm supposed to do?

I'm fairly sure you're given a key at the beginning of the game if you have the DLC, so you might not have the key for that character if you bought the DLC's after creating your character.

I'm on SotFS.

Keys are now scattered in various locations, gotta find them
Oh, thats neat. Makes sense you'd find them in game since they're not addons anymore. Plus, now you dont have to wonder when in the game you should do them.
Also props for adding a Demon's Souls reference in Black Gulch, that cracked me up.

What is it?
That's random as shit. Like that doesn't even make sense why a Dragon Rider would be at Shrine of Amana
If I recall correctly, Vaaty already found a somewhat hidden connection between the knights in shrine of amana and dragons.
Im not quite sure what it was, but I think it was something along the lines of the knights having formed somewhat of a cult that was somehow tied to Sinh in Shulva.

Great, now I gotta go through every area again looking for that one item I missed. Guess I'll have to be 100% thorough in my next playthroughs.
What is it?
If you get yourself a bunch of summons, 2 npcs will invade. They're carrying a greatshield from the Imperious dudes followed by a giant stone axe, a prisoner tatters and some trousers. The reference is from the 2 big club naked chest black phantom in Stonefang's Tunnel having big clubs and greatshield.
It was hilarious but at same time hard if you don't destroy the poison statues.
So on a scale of "Ubisoft mess" to "the second coming of Jesus 'Bloodborne' Christ", how good is Preschool of the First Sinner as an ~investment~?
I already have the original and all the DLCs for what it's worth.

You're too generous for even including that "second coming" rating.

Look at my post a bit further up the page.
If you already god the original + DLCs it's just something around 15-20€ to pay and as far as I'm concerned, the price was worth the content I got.
Did you like DS2 + DLC and wanna replay it with partly small and partly big changes? Go for it.
Did you find DS2 + DLC rather meh? Don't get it.
I've... found something very strange in the Undead Crypt in SOTFS.
There was a message at the beginning of the final hallway to Velstadt (Secret ahead therefore try torch). After clearing the room I swept it with a torch, and found an invisible hollow. He could only be seen by the shadow he cast. He's located on the right side of the room, on the final mausoleum stone before the chests.

I knew to look there because I'd accidentally killed him in someone else's world - I swung my sword at a Syan knight I was fighting and suddenly saw him appear and die. He uses the same model that corpses with items use - Unlike any other living thing in the game. He dropped a smooth and silky stone when killed.
What the hell?
god damnit now I have to buy it
I hate it when people try to play hero.
Got summoned to an apostle in distress and when I arrived he had already summoned another white phantom. The Invader saw me and the other phantom, panicked and ran into a narrow hallway and the host, having a small army behind him, could think of nothing better but to just follow him straight up into the hallway.
Needless to say, he got bursted by the invader's hexes while me and the phantom were unable to get past the host.
Please guys, if you ever have an arbiter spirit or a phantom at your side while being invaded: Let them take the pain first.

There was one next to a lit torch in Forest of Falling Giants. Even I missed it the first time. Pretty sure it was put there to clue you into the existence of more of these hidden hollows, like the one you found, that can only be found with torchlight.
There's likely loads more hidden throughout the game now.
Did that one drop anything?
Made it to the Bastille so far in SotFS; The lighting is honestly a downgrade in Majula, really needs to be toned down. I don't notice anything improved with shadow rendering / resolution. I don't notice any special DX11 effects either. Sure, the Old Knights look nicer, but that's only the new bump / parallax maps they have. Parallax isn't new though, many of the stone walls have that effect. Texture resolution has no upgrade. The character lighting (glow around characters / brightness of skin and armor) needs to be toned down too. Even in a dark room the skin shines almost like a phantom.
One thing I noticed though is that it seems there are a few more moving bits (Ivy, leaves) in Forest of Giants, but again that's nothing special to DX11 and can easily be done in DX9. The enemy placement / switch is a neat refresh to the challenge and isn't necessarily adding to bullshit enemy placement, just moving the bullshit areas around. Darker rooms, again while nice, are nothing that they couldn't put in a DX9 update.
tl:dr; There is nothing in the DX11 version that they couldn't have put in the DX9 version for PC.
If they want to amaze me / convince me this was worth the $20 upgrade, make all shadows dynamic and add volumetric lighting (They had volumetric light beams in the Artorias fight for DS1).
Hoo boy, I just fucked up and lost over 300k souls. In NG. Ugh.
Anyone know how the forlorn greatsword works? I have enough stats to wield it and I upgraded it all the way, but something is making it do shitty damage.

What happens if you're hollowed instead?
Also, one of the ruin sentinels bugged out and stopped responding once it jumped down. Me and the host spent the rest of the fight taunting and gesturing at it while Belleclair killed it.

What are the stats?
What happens if you're hollowed instead?
I guess that's the trick. This is what it does at max hollow.

That's kinda lame.

I hate it when they throw in random Int/Fth requirements on shit.
Also, was stupid and bought SotFS, feel even more stupid now that it immediately crashed on start up.
How does one get the forlorn armor? I really want it, but all of my fights so far have dropped nothing. :(
Holy shit, I am not prepared.

[sp]For every time you beat him, Straid will sell a piece of his equipment.[/sp]
As someone who not only didn't have the DLC in the first place, but also had this bought for me, I can say that so far, SOTFS is a blast. My friend helped me through the base game before the release and since I enjoyed it so much, was nice enough to buy it for me.
SOTFS is, in my opinion, the definitive edition of Dark Souls 2. Even though I sunk something like four hundred hours into the original, I'm liking this one way better so far.
