Dark Souls and Demon's Souls Megathread VI. Katana Gank Squad Edition

So, 1 year, "remaster" and I hear 60 fps durability bug and PC Controls being fucked up (keyboard & mouse inputs being scary of one another) are still there.
I love Dark Souls, I really enjoyed Dark Souls II and the DLCs, but Scholar of the First Sin is stretching it. First Sony stealing Bloodborne forever for their PS4 to sell, now Bamco reminding us of it's wonderful business practices.
hey hey, if i'm thankful for one thing
it's the new bridge in no man's wharf
The torch buddy is pretty cool too. Too bad everyone kills him. :c
I managed to have him follow me even onto the ship.
I was kinda sad to see that it didn't make the journey to he Lost Bastille
and J!NX, sorry for not having a good answer here but I'm kinda drunk and not the tech-specialist but I've heard people talking about some 120 FPS stuff. Im not sure if you can bring it above the 60 FPS but well.
The FPS have never been a problem for me, if you ignore the fact that weapons still break fairly easy.
On topic of messages: I already planted my fair share of skeleton-messages in SoftS, including the classics like "Don't give up, skeleton!" or "Listen carefully, skeleton!"

I remember when I first went there and I found him, and let him be cuz he was being cool. Later, when I got that new bridge down, he came to meet me, but I wasn't expecting him to follow me that way, and I killed him.
I felt so bad. :(

Click for uncompressed goodness.
This is why I'm fond of SOTFS.
Whats the score with Dragon Eyrie? They were all friendly all the way through, then on the big stairs at the end there was a grey phantom looking dragon dude who was targetable, and they all went angry on me and i died :<
Nevermind, sniped the glowing/leader one down, hes easier than the rest, and when dead they dont aggro :D
you have to use the throne
How do I fight Aldia then? I'm pretty sure I got all the encounters

Nope :(
Found 2 of the keys, missing the one for sunken king

The dragon Talon
It's located [sp]in the forgotten-door in the pit. You will need the forgotten key, obtained by killing the 2 Giants in the black gulch. [/sp]
I was digging in my recordings, found a video of the PVP event in Dark souls 1 almost a year ago.
I was invading to get to the host, but invaded a stranger. My char is SL110 and who ever this guy was he was at least SL100.

Will Fromsoft never fix the bugs created by 60FPS on the PC? The community has been very vocal about them for a long time. Do they not care?

Apparently a guy just started working on a fix for the durability bug for SotFS

No idea if it will cause softbanning though.

I went in and all that was there was havels set :s
nevermind im dumb and never knew about the third door
I never really had much of a problem with durability myself , feels like if the rate was halved durability would be a non-issue, which kind of defeats the point of having it in the first place
Yeah sometimes you'll have to either repair or swap out your weapon when going through an area, that's kind of the point of durability
The only thing I hate is weapons with ridiculously low durability, for example I really love the bewitched alonne sword but it's completely unusable, and you can forget about using the buff

It's very trying when you're playing co-op, since your weapon takes durability damage whenever it passes through even a friendly phantom.
The biggest problem with DS2's durability is they decided it was necessary for the player to sit at every bonfire they pass to keep their weapon from breaking.
In Demon's Souls and Dark Souls it was hard to break your weapon because weapon breakage was meant to punish you for being careless, or as a way of screwing you over in PVP. It was significantly more expensive to repair a broken weapon than to do semi-regular maintenance on it. In Dark Souls 2 repairing your weapon is cheap as fuck so it just becomes an annoying trip back to Majula to let you continue.
Played a fair amount of Dark Souls 1 and a few hours of Demons souls (until my Ps+ ran out)
but I'm kinda stuck in DS2, feeling like a scrub since I need help. I just killed that giant boss in the beginning (last giant or something) and got the key for the mansion aswell but now I have no idea where to go.
It's not just durability broken with 60fps. Certain enemies have movesets twice as fast, like alonne knights. You also get only half the i-frames while rolling, and half the parry frames.

Explore the area for closed doors, open them.
So is it true that you get the full Black Witch Set + Veil if you lit all the sconces in the gutter? [sp] A suppose phantom should appear[/sp] I can't stress enough on that.

I've never heard anything of the sort myself; not sure if it's true.

I haven't heard about that either and for the first time, in scholar of the first sin I tried to light up every sconce in the gutter but didn't get anything for it.
I might have forgotten one, but I doubt that you get the gear for lighting them up.

I always have the feeling that i missed something. Doing laps in this area :v:
So the areas full of awful repeating textures in vanilla DS2, are they fixed up in Scholar of the First Sin?
Like the Giant's Forest or the Iron Keep

I doubt it, I haven't played it myself but from the screenshots it looks like they added some more lighting and cleared up some textures. But the actual world hasn't been changed.
So I don't have SotFS, but now do you have to beat the dlc areas to fight[sp]Aldia[/sp]now?
It's actually way easier to go through the belltowers now if you play your cards right, you can get an npc summon with a fuckton of health. The one in belfry sol is particularly nasty.
Nevermind finally got it, i missed the scone near the rope "passage".
Phantom appears in a goddamn nasty place
