What kind of question even is that?
One that the answer to is objectively "yes."
Alright, alright, you people were right on the aspect that dark souls 1 was a bit more fair.
But still, I never encountered a death in scholar of the first sin, that I could've avoided by taking a closer look at my surroundings. The Iron king DLC not included, I still think it's bullshit that we're supposed to fight like 5 ashen soldiers or whatever they're called at once when they deal so much damage.
On the good side though, I finally managed to beat the fume knight for the first time. The crown is MINE now.
Oh man speaking of Iron King DLC.
If I'm able to get the iron scepter, and farm the giant smelter hammer guys in the DLC, while having only 3 of the 4 lord souls and a SM less than one million, dual Grand Lances may be [del]overpowered[/del] the best fucking thing I've done on any build so far. Have you ever seen those ashen soldiers stagger after a single strike? Have you seen them die in one hit? Have you seen the smelter hammer giants stagger, ever? I hadn't before today.
Who says they didn't add better textures for Scholar of the First Sin?

That detail, hnng
Sir Alonne and Fume Knight are some top tier bosses. Those fights are so much fun.
The Dragon Shrine surprised me when I first got there. First a spooky face and now the Dragon Warriors aren't attacking me.
I wonder if they would attack me if I make the Ancient Dragon hostile.
What's the best way to farm Ruin Sentinel equipment, besides constantly refreshing the bonfire at the King's Passage?
I really really really want to get their armor, it looks cool as shit (minus the terrible helmet.)

I'm afraid it's the only way to farm those. Just grab a Covetous Gold Ring +1 from Magelord, and some other stuff to help farming.
Good thing the stone spearmen arent a problem at least anymore.
And don't you diss the frogmouth helmet, okay?
Question, do the heidi knights scattered across heidi tower of flame drop thier equipment? (armor set etc)

Answer, yes.

Non-SotFS.
its lighting, not textures
it looks like they just upped the levels and got rid of some fog
great remaster
Well, I got SotFS because I had none of the DLC and it seemed like an alright deal.
And it doesn't even run on my computer for some reason.
I want to die.
[editline]8th April 2015[/editline]
Okay, I checked the graphicsconfig file in the roaming folder and for some reason my resolution was set to 2228x31040 ingame. It seems that was the cause of the problem. Time to die!

It's really more than just some slight lighting and less fog.
Playing scholar of the first sin
Are the reflections in no-man's wharf supposed to be this bright? It really stands out and I don't remember it looking this way in the original. The ship and most/all distant wood objects look like they're highlighted.

I have all dlc already but haven't played them
Should I upgrade?

hello again, after making a new save because I couldn't get away from the first bonfire due to attacking that guy I've spent roughly 4 hours trying to kill the black knight guy in Undead Burg. been doing it by jumping down on him from the balcony where the guys throw firebombs at you. i was getting close to doing it but died and alt f4'd, I'll try again later when I'm less mad
I know this game is supposed to be hard, but am I awful or is it supposed to take this long? I got up to the boss at the top of the tower too and he fucked me right up, then I went down and saw the boss guy in all the armor and literally shouted "nope" and ran away

Don't fight the black knight yet, focus on the boss.

well first off youre not really even supposed to fight those guys until you either have experience or good gear

Black knights are mid game enemies, fighting them right away will get you no-where unless you know what to do.
As the above guys said, it's not recommended to fight those guys just yet, but if you really want to do it, try to chain backstabs. Get behind him and R1, and while he is getting back up get behind him again and at the right moment you R1 again. If you don't time it right you'll just do a regular attack and probably die.

His sweet spot is more towards his right arm when you're behind him, if you try to do it in the middle of his back you won't get it.
I upgraded because I had no DLC. I hardly played it but maybe this will bring me back in from Dark Souls 1. Wish me luck!

I have some further advice for you.
For now, stay away from the guy in the lower tower aswell. It's Havel the Rebell and he's even harder than the black knight you fought.
Just pass through the fog gate to the boss. Before you venture across the bridge, make sure you kill the archers on the tower behind you.
Now get the boss to jump down, sprint back and immediately climb the ladder up onto the tower. You will be able to perform a plunging attack onto the boss now which should take about half his HP away.
If you started up with the masterkey (if not, you can buy the key from the merchant located in that area), you are able to grab some black firebombs from out of the locked villa.
These firebombs are enough damage to blast away the remaining half of the boss' HP, making that fight a piece of cake.
After that, it get's somewhat easier for a short time and once you encounter a long, charred stonebridge, turn back and go the opposite way to the balcony. You will meet the best friend in the whole game there.
Praise the sun! \[T]/
Why are the two tiger bosses awful cheap reskins of a boss in the same DLC
Why is the path to get there longer than any stretch in a souls game
Why do the reindeer never stop respawning
Like this is objectively the worst designed area and this is the most frustrated I've been in a souls game ever.

I did exactly that without your advice, figured it out myself first time, I jumped down and hit him and thought great I can do that again. Climbed back up, was fumbling around trying to change weapon and he fucking jumped up and took me down in one hit
Then on the way back I managed to die because of fucking firebombs so I lost about 7000 souls
I'm so mad but I want to play more, I've had this game for a while but never got into it until now
