Today, years of playing dark souls later, I have discovered a shiny that I had never gotten before. The one on the side of the stairs that leads to all the capras in demon ruins. I had never know that existed until I looked over there from the chest with the ember in it.
Also, last week I managed to get a pickaxe drop for the first time ever.
amazing.
What do you mean a shiny?
I bought Scholar but haven't played it yet
Is it worth it?
Help
are you asking if i game you just bought is worth playing?
????
I'm just not motivated to play it
Played 200 hours of DS2 without the dlc
DLC content is hella good. A straight improvement on the vanilla content.
Play that shit.

well the level design in the dlcs are much better than the vanilla ones but if you're just tired of the gameplay in general there's no point trying them
i've played the dlcs but haven't tried scholar of the first sin yet. bloodborne has ruined me. i love ds2 but bloodborne is just so much more fun that i probably won't like ds2 as much if i get back to it.
the royal soldiers in forest of fallen giants can fucking burn in hell forever
whoever though that putting 3 of those idiots on the pursuer platform, thanks for letting them aggro while fighting him, i hit one accidentally because i got stuck on him and he killed me with his stupid combo bullshit
everything about them is annoying, their moveset, the way they walk, the placement
remove them from the game pls

The dlc is all really good and I hear the enemy and item placements being moved around makes another play through worth it.
Honestly its worth depends on how much you liked vanilla DS2.
getting the shadow mask on my first playthrough in scholar is weird; but I like it. If anyone want to do some PvP I bought scholar on pc last week and I can finally game on the new PC I built in feb; Getting consistent 3 way invasions with an extra red invader in belfry was interesting to experience again

The DLC is excellent, and because they mixed up so much of the enemy placement in the base game I got that same paranoid feeling of "is there something big about to wreck my shit around that corner?" that I had when I first played on launch day. They also made it less horrifically annoying to get stuff like the Aurous armor and the grand lance. It's still the same game you know, but it actually is fresh enough to warrant another run.

Yet i haven't seen them in the memories :v:
if you use the ps4 pad on pc what software do you use? i installed inputmapper but i dont like having to load it every time i play a game
also what items are good for shrine of amana? its the first place i died and lost a significant amount of souls so i went and got the rebel great shield but what armour has best magic def
there's your first mistake. you can't tank that magic damage, the chip damage alone means you'll be popping lifegems/chugging estus. it's just easier to use the dodge frames to get closer.
With the right gear you can definitely block/tank that magic damage.
Also, for using a PS4 pad on PC, I just use InputMapper and have it start at boot, never had any problems with it.
Go armor less, dodge fucking everything.
do you use bluetooth? i need to get either a longer usb cable or a bluetooth dongle, if bluetooth adds latency i will stick with usb. i get 4ms with my current cable
[editline]1st May 2015[/editline]
theres no benefit to that is there apart from being a badass, i usually wear whatever i can upto the point i can still fast roll
That feel when you want to co-op with a friend but they're like "nah that game's hard let's do something else."
So you have to resort to "alright what if I started you on a level 100 character so you can tank damage and shit for awhile" :(

so ive just bought scholar and is it true or not durability bug is gonna be fixed all around? i have one friend telling me that it is, and another telling me that its just for corpses and hitting the environment and shit not actually hitting enemies. which one is a liar here.
Holy hell, Clifford the big grey dog is wrecking me a new one. I need to farm souls to boost my gear. Its all still at base level :c
Also am I in the wrong or does the game become less exciting after you beat Queelag? Maybe I'm just used to all the nonsense at this point..
I just about got through it but I felt I wasn't up to snuff to face the giant guy beyond the mist door, so I backtracked a bit. I found a slumbering dragon ring after falling off somewhere. Died moments later.

Stick with it, the big guy isn't so bad once you get to know him.

He picked up a big boulder and looked at me. Blighttown taught me that rocks are not my pal. Can't fool me twice! Again!

As long as you've pumped titanite into your gear you should be more than strong enough to face the golem. Even then, if all else fails (somehow) you got Black Iron Tarkus as a summon. He is the manliest of the men.

As of now it's the same as before but according to previous posts in this thread From has stated to look into it and delivering a patch soon.

Do I have to beat him first or something like Maneater Mildred? Also I haven't done a lot of upgrading but I'm in a good spot to do so because the AI is dumb and fall off cliffs.

yeah i know that they plan on fixing it but what they actually listed to intend to fix is vague as hell. all theyve said is hitting corpses, environment, friendly characters etc. though when you think about it surely if hitting friendly characters is gonna be fixed hitting enemies would be fixed too right?
Was the fire clutch ring always in Eluem Loyce?
I'm pretty sure it was in the iron king's dlc before sotfs

You don't have to kill the bomb-lobbing giant. If you don't, however... You're gonna have a bad time. Just hide in the doorway of the tower until he tuckers himself out with a tantrum then beat him up.
Also yes upgrade everything to +3 at least, since shards are cheap.

That's almost how it goes for me, excepting that I guillotined that poor soul at the entrance using Zweihander when he passed through :v:
