Drakekeeper UGS has S str scaling when fully upgraded. with 330 damage, and it shares a moveset with the zweihander, so that would be a great option. Pursuers gives decent damage with A str/C dex scaling, with 390 base damage, so it hits hard as all hell. Some people don't like the moveset, but personally I thought it was pretty alright. If you're one of the rare, adventurous types looking for a dex-oriented UGS, try the Drakewing. It's 2H strong attack is ranged, so that kicks ass.

You know, The Dragon Tooth would be OP as fuck if you could upgrade it. +15 Dragon Tooth anyone?

The Ivory UGS is also really good but it's lost the element of surprise from when it came out and nobody expected a lightsaber but it's still pretty good. Really, all of them are good in their own rights. Drakekeeper has amazing scaling and good damage, Crypt Blacksword Dark infused and buffed is the best elemental damage weapon in the game to the last if my knowledge. For regular greatswords, BKS is awesome, Bastard, Drangleic and Mirrah are good. Just go with that A. You think looks baller and B. Has a moveset you're comfortable with.

Playing Dark Souls for the first time, just beat Ornstein and Smough, and man playing with spears is so much fun. I love being able to stab enemies from meters away with the pike and SKS.

It has the biggest range of all spears,but requires Demon Titanite to upgrade.

Spears are also pretty much easy mode for pvp in ds2

What's the best all around straight sword for a magic build?

In what order do you guys usually fight the Great Souls in DS2? I usually do Lost Sinner, Old Iron King, the Rotten and finally Freja.

Lost Sinner, Freja, OIK, Rotten i hate rotten's area because it just slows my pace down since i dont want to fall or get caught by an anime abomination in the black gulch

Freja last because I hate that place. Goddamn spiders.

Sinner, Freja / Iron King / Rotten. Last part is like that because I would usually run through each place to the last bonfire, then go after the bosses in whatever order I please. Reap the souls in one go after Sinner.

Just got invaded in the Dragon Shrine wearing full Havel's and he wandered around the upper areas trying to pelt me with arrows without understanding how Dark Souls collision works until his timer ran out.

I was lucky enough to get an early drop of the black knight sword in a new DS1 playthrough. I never actually used it so I thought I'd build my character around it, and it's great. (I also got a catch pole) It's really satisfying when you anticipate the enemies' movements and land the strong attacks. I think I'll go back and try some other weapons, there were a ton that I never touched. Any recommendations?

Like i got me a Demon Great Machete and it's balls-out powerful and, like you said, timing the strong attacks right is awesome.

Speaking of Black Knight stuff, I'm so glad I had a Black Knight Shield drop for me. I was having a lot of trouble with Quelaag until I noticed that her AOE attack was also fire based and I had a shield with 95% fire resistance.

the dragon crest shield also has decent fire defense and is way easier to get but that works too

Dragon Crest/Black Knight shield make that fight so damn easy. A few upgrades and a reasonable endurance and you can tank just about everything, save the AOE.

Nevertheless, I don't see why you can't stream Dark Souls through Steam, I can do it just fine.
