Xbox controllers just work natively? If you're asking how to use a 360 controller wirelessly you can get a dongle. For the record anyhow, I played both with a mouse and keyboard although with DS1 it takes a couple of mods
Yeah DS2's pc controls weren't that bad. I set block to mouse 4, diabled the double click thing to get rid of the input lag issue, and had no problems.
I prefer the pc controls honestly. Being able to change your selected item while moving is so much better with the mouse wheel. I hate the dpad claw hand.
I wish I didn't have to play through half of dark souls to fight kalameet again.

if theres one thing souls needs its a boss rush mode imo
DS II's(SotFS) ending was the closest thing we got.

I think he's where you get the iron mask now, but aside from that he's a standard Heide knight. Maybe he was their leader.

really? where exacly? gutter one is the only one with a different helmet i've encountered
In the cells before you get to the Sinner.
Cool! I was typing earlier and the power went out. Seath's ghost is haunting me. Oh yeah, that reminds me.
I finished beating up skeleton Cher and decided to go after that place that opened up in Anor Londo. Duke's Archives. Okay, sure, pretty nice place. Lotsa books, lotsa space, lotsa angry sonic cosplayers. Jesus christ, this place really doesn't let you walk around too long without some asshole blasting you from a distance. Yeah thanks, I really look forward to my repair bill. Anyway, I beat up the random guy with crystals in his face and saw like 20 orange signs before a mist wall and I immediately knew this was bad news bears from the start. I walked in anyway and proceeded to get the full chinese acupuncture special from Seath himself. Yeah sure, that's fair. Jerk. Okay, I died pretty quick, guess I need to learn a trick to the fight.
Nope. I somehow picked up a "go straight to jail" monopoly card. I paced my cell, beat up the crystal guys. Nothing. I was a bit confused before I noticed the snake guy just chilling by my cell. My immediate instinct is to stab him viciously. It worked! I got the key to my cell and was greeted with a cutscene with a snake guy using his head instead of his openly available arms(?) to sound the mating call of the mini-cthulus downstairs. Now I didn't think too much of this at first, but when I saw the snake guys running away, I immediately dropped my shit and followed them. If the other bad guy is running from the bad guys coming towards you, you know they're about to give you a bad day hand shake. Turns out it was just the AI being a load of shit. I died, but the respawn wasn't too far. Got my stuff back, alarm wasn't sounded, and I just casually made my way downstairs. Destroyed everyone and found Logan in jail. Again. He has a thing for reptilian jailors.
Get the key, go back upstairs, more crystal guys and dancing magicians, that shit. Run around, grab souls, fight Ryu from fucking street fighter and get FUCKING TATSUMAKI'D. Fuck these guys. Anyway, I found daughter of onion knight, onion lady. No one cares, so I ran to the giant, foreboding mess of crystals. Oh hey, I'm supposed to be here! Yaaaaa--YOU DIED.
Fucking invisible platforms. I've heard shit, game. You can't fool me. I know whats gonna happen here. I brought those crystals that checks drop distance too. It's a damn shame 90% of these invisible platforms are JUST STRAIGHT LINES. aRGH. The actual moment I have to use the crystals is when I went to get a slab. Fantastic.
Anyway, ignoring the butterflies just chilling and making my way to the thing at the end that Logan told me about. Suddenly Seath shows up and he ain't having that shit. My first instinct is to stabby stab the shiny thing, then stabby stab Seath. Funny enough, I learned that none of his attacks, save for his tail flail, actually hurt. I just waited for him to do his nonsense breath attack, sliced his meatball body, then backed up. Rinse and repeat. Sadly, he put up a bigger fight than Nito, but that's not saying much. I saw a buncha cursed statues so I guess they weren't ready, but I fight him one time and he's like spaghetti. A couple of pokes and bang, I win.

On to the next place/thing/person/food item! Probably the four burgerkings but I'm weighing my options.
lol since they fixed the durability bug you can't abuse it to break santier's spear anymore
time to face the wall and mash my controller for over an hour

You can swing the weapon at the two invisible crows, they never die and it counts as a hit. It's faster.

are you sure that's still working? i'm already at 363 and i don't want risking starting over
are you sure that's still working? i'm already at 363 and i don't want risking starting over
That's how I did it
Wouldn't using it two handed and spamming the power strike move wear away more durability or is that only for weapons with special two-hand attacks (Like Drake Sword)?
Anyone know if there's a way to make the game remember the specific setting "Disable double clicking" on game restart?
When DS2 first came out, this feature kept plaguing me as I prefer to play with M&KB and it made using mouse buttons for combat very delayed, so I had to resort to using AutoHotkey for a while. I don't know when they added this option even, but it sure as hell fixed my old problems. But for some reason, every time I restart the game the option resets, despite keeping it visually changed to "On", it's actually off. So I have to set it to off, save settings, and then on again to make it work.
It's not a big issue, but it's a bit bothersome to make this a routine every time I start up the game.
Aaah man.
So I'm making my way through the grave of saints when I get summoned as a grey spirit. Whoo hoo, you know? I appear in this guy's world and he's waiting for me in the very first room out of the cave, already swinging. So I make like a Frenchman and run right past him, with him desperately in tow, poking with his sword. I make it to the fog wall, and spin my camera around to see him dangerously close, running in what seemed like slow-motion, one hand out-stretched, shouting "noooooo" all slowed down and shit, and I disappear through the fog wall.
I can only imagine his face, when he comes skidding to a halt at the fog door, his prey has escaped. He's failed and he knows it.
And then a halberd pokes out of the fog wall and kills him as the invading phantom disappears. :v:

Not sure. Kill him and take his cool hat.

See, in lore, the gutter is where unwanted people and things end up, right? That Heide knight was sent there after his helmet went out of fashion in favour of tin cans, all his buddies wanted to cosplay Solaire.
Honestly, I prefer that Teutonic style of helmet. Looks pretty cool.
So do the AotA bosses have extremely high fire resist or something? I'm trying a Dex/Pyro build on Dark 1 and the Sanctuary Guardian is being tickled by my Furysword. I obviously expect Kalameet to be fire resistant, but this is really bugging me.

What are your stats? I remember tearing some serious butthole with the furysword. You got 10 liquid humanity too, right? The Guardian's highest resistances are lightning and magic, according to the wiki, so you should be good.

I may just be low level; I'm only 44 with 25 Dex. It's been awhile since I fought the Guardian so maybe he's just stronger than I remember.
I deed et.

Except I think I picked the wrong thing and got a bad ending and megaton nuked everything. Oops :c. Guess I'll have to play through everything again to unfuck it! Overall, the game was..surprisingly easy, despite all the claims to frustrating difficulty. The only super hard parts were Blighttown, the first 1/8th of the game, and Bed Of Chaos (because falling shit). Maybe I leveled too hard...iunno.

well i mean you were kinda using the best sword in the game and very good armor. But even so, nice job clearing it your first time. [sp]Now man up and do NG+[/sp]

Excuse you but you're forgetting about the Abyss Greatsword sir.

split damage does absolutely fuck-all to the DLC bosses

Too bad its requirements are absurd as hell unless you're playing DS2.
okay, I'm confused and have a question. Dark Souls 1 was supposed to be updated to get rid of the GFWL stuff. I opted into the beta quite a while ago, importing all my saves and all that shit. But it's never gone out of beta, it still says I'm opted in, and there haven't been any updates that I've noticed. Isn't it supposed to automatically update to some sort of official version rather than a beta?
