You wouldn't really play a flying simulator without a joystick for instance.
Try me.
[sp]I totally would to start though, just to see how bad I am.[/sp]
But believe us when the game is meant to be played with a controller. The fps fix only really messes with one ladder under the dragon bridge.
I didn't think people like that really existed. I'm all 100% for PC games but some just control better with a gamepad and you're just being an idiot and gimping yourself thinking otherwise. Even if the port was good and mouse and keyboard controls were flawless, i'd still play Dark Souls with a controller.
The mouse fix for DaS 1 is perfectly usable; I cleared through NG+ with the mouse and keyboard using it. Just set the sensitivity as low as it can go and try to keep your mouse hand from moving when multiple enemies are present, since moving the mouse changes your target.
No. Not an option.
Quit being asinine
Why ask for assistance if you're refusing to even help yourself with such close-minded views.
All I can tell you is good luck fighting Darklurker with that attitude.

Being a PC gamer is no excuse for being idiotic.
There are some games on PC that are just flat-out better with a controller. Dark Souls is a console game ported to PC, and thus is of course going to have ass controls because it wasn't designed with a keyboard in mind. What's with the 'I'll be dead and cold in the ground before I hook up a controller to my computer'? Are you that much of a fedora-tipping PC gaming elitist that you won't use a method of playing a game that is simply better out of pig-headed stubbornness?
Grow up.
I play with KB+M, though that was originally more because I didn't have any controllers to plug in and didn't want to go out and buy one for one single game.
It's alright if you rebind to a more sensible layout and get DSMFix, though the only real bonus over controllers is that you can item switch a little easier as your thumb isn't doing the work for both camera and switching.

it also received a shit port because from didn't know how to pc
ds2's port wasn't much better but you knew ahead of time the controller would be a much more viable option.
And to the first person to respond with "just use a gamepad..." ...uh... Eat me. Because I will be dead in the cold cold ground before I hook up a controller to my computer. I'm a PC gamer, and I will play games the way nature intended: with a mouse and keyboard.
Us enlightened people are a rare breed my friend! You should not listen to these crummy plebeians, and join the rest of our brethren at r/pcmasterrace.
Dawkins speed my comrade, and may Gaben be with you!
I assume you already have DSFix, but also get DSMFix. It allows you to use more than 3 mouse buttons and significantly improves the camera control with the mouse.
It is still significantly easier and smoother just to use a controller, and I understand if you do not have access to one, but not every PC game was meant to be played on KB+M. You wouldn't really play a flying simulator without a joystick for instance.
Sounds good, but I'll disagree. I've played a number of emulated PS3 games entirely with a keyboard before, start to finish. I refuse to accept there being a control scheme that cannot be properly mapped with the precision of a mouse and keyboard.
I played GTA5 when it first game out on the PS3, out of necessity, but I'll never touch that version again now a proper PC version exists to improve the experience.
But see, at least the ABOVE guy was helpful. I set my terms, and he offered a way of helping me achieve my goal. I'm sorry if using a console controller on a PC game feels like anathema to me, but it does. It's not why I've paid good hard money for a machine superior to the current crop of consoles, to use their proprietary joystick instead of a full array of configurable keys, and a mouse whose precision cannot be otherwise matched.
If I can play both Kingdom Hearts PS2 games start to end on an emulator, I can play this.
Hey man drop the attitude
you ask for help and people give the best advice i dont see the huge issue there, if some of its not all that helpful to you you can easily ignore it instead of going off like that...
in his defense I've been playing with keyboard and mouse for 3 years with no issues. you just need to change a few keybinds around. I don't play with any mouse fixes either. the more subtly you move the mouse, the faster the camera responds
Hes trolling. Report and move on.
I mean yeah I know it's j-dude but still
playing dark souls with a keyboard sounds worse than playing a fighting game with a steering wheel
Does anyone have, or will soon have, but need a sun sword? Im working up on a new character that I plan on having dual sun swords. I only made it to bastille so far though.

I could help you out if you're on the SOTFS version

The difference between the two of you is that you don't act elitist about it.
I could help you out if you're on the SOTFS version
PC SOTFS, yeah. I could probably jump bastille and go straight for Harvest Valley instead. Ill post again when Im there.
Why did you threw yourself off the cliff?
The way I remembered it we used to throw the other guys off a cliff
Because I ain't having that shit while in human form
fuck the undead ditch in SotFS

Emulated PS3 games?
What emulator did you use?
As someone with 420 hours in Dark Souls I, all using mouse and keyboard (with DSMFix), it's perfectly playable. There's even stuff you can't do using a controller, like sprint while looking behind you. It just doesn't work with a controller, unless you have two right thumbs or you use your nose to control the camera.
If you can't beat DS1 with a mouse and keyboard, you just need to get good™; you won't have much better luck with a controller.
Of course, I use a controller for every other game in the series. I honestly just prefer mouse and keyboard for DS1.

but i played thru BOTH dark souls on M&K and i didn't have any troubles.

Sounds like someone isn't using the claw!
That hand position is apparently so widespread that I found it on the Bloodborne reddit :v:
I actually use my index finger for the stick instead of my thumb.

:)
I see everyone use the tip of their index finger to hold down B/Circle, but I use the PIP joint on my index to hold it down since I find it faster to return to regular grip that way.

Wouldn't it be easier to hit the Y button by accident then?
