I guess my point is that M/K is perfectly viable. I don't think it's as good as a controller, but it's not so much worse that it ruins the experience.
Wouldn't it be easier to hit the Y button by accident then?
Nah, it's never happened to me, at least. All the weight goes to the joint and plus I have hypermobility in my fingers, so that helps out.
Has anyone else had their b button break from playing so much dark souls?
The A and B button on my old controller were worn. The A and b button got stuck under the shell regularly. The left thumb stick had the bottom of the foam torn off from use too. And both sticks had been worn smooth. This is all Dark Soul's fault, because the controller was fine before I started playing it. Dark Souls destroys controllers faster then 5 years of X-box 360 it seems.
Has anyone else had their b button break from playing so much dark souls?
My left stick no longer centers properly. I blame my build centered around jumping.
The A and B button on my old controller were worn.
How did the A button get worn out? iirc the A button isn't used that much
How did the A button get worn out? iirc the A button isn't used that much
Tapping the fuck out of it when grabbing items. [editline]asdf[/editline] Bear- Seek- Seek- Lest.
playing dark souls with a keyboard sounds worse than playing a fighting game with a steering wheel
A friend of mine actually played through huntsman's copse using a steering wheel lol. Also, what do you guys get from going all "zomg im never going to insult my glorious pc by using a controler"? Dark Souls may be somewhat (or kinda) playable with KB + M, but there's no way your controls will get more precise than using a controller.
everyone knows DDR pads are the REAL way to play souls games.

I just happened to find this edit of the Dark Souls 2 Comic I made sometime around release on my hard drive.
can anyone drop a summon in undead ditch either by the bonfire or boss fog wall? i have died repeatedly there i dont want to lose the soles in the boss arena or pop a humanity and there be no summons
is it just me or is the old iron king way more easier than smelter demon
is it just me or is the old iron king way more easier than smelter demon
i've always found the old iron king to be fairly easy because of how insanely slow and telegraphed all his attacks are smelter still occasionally gets me, but i've mostly learned his stuff
i don't like the fact he's just staying there for you to hit his hands, it's stupid
If he was faster, it'd be a lot better of a fight, cause as it stands you can sit there and get a full stamina bars worth of combos out on him and take off a third or more of his health in one go depending on what you're using. If he was faster, it'd almost be challenging, but i guess that goes for most bosses in DS2.
is it just me or is the old iron king way more easier than smelter demon
Well the Smelter Demon is supposed to be stronger
i don't like the fact he's just staying there for you to hit his hands, it's stupid
Welcome to the Dragon God, Ceaseless Discharge club.
Well the Smelter Demon is supposed to be stronger
Wasn't it the smelter deamon that killed the old iron king way back before he was that diablo lookin' fucker?
No. Not an option.

And to the first person to respond with "just use a gamepad..." ...uh... Eat me. Because I will be dead in the cold cold ground before I hook up a controller to my computer. I'm a PC gamer, and I will play games the way nature intended: with a mouse and keyboard.
what a pathetic post lmao This is an actual "I'm sorry console FAGS but I'm just better than you" post and that infuriates me as a PC gamer.
Sounds good, but I'll disagree. I've played a number of emulated PS3 games entirely with a keyboard before, start to finish. I refuse to accept there being a control scheme that cannot be properly mapped with the precision of a mouse and keyboard. I played GTA5 when it first game out on the PS3, out of necessity, but I'll never touch that version again now a proper PC version exists to improve the experience. But see, at least the ABOVE guy was helpful. I set my terms, and he offered a way of helping me achieve my goal. I'm sorry if using a console controller on a PC game feels like anathema to me, but it does. It's not why I've paid good hard money for a machine superior to the current crop of consoles, to use their proprietary joystick instead of a full array of configurable keys, and a mouse whose precision cannot be otherwise matched. If I can play both Kingdom Hearts PS2 games start to end on an emulator, I can play this.
Keyboards have the precision of a drunkard compared to joysticks if you would crawl out of your ass you would realize that using a controller doesn't make you "Any less of a gamer" x input mapped controllers (wii u pro with mayflash, xbox controllers, ps4 adaptors) work perfectly and have a high amount of precision and excellent camera movement. you don't need the "Precision of a mouse" in a game like dark souls, that's the most inane thing I've heard. You aren't twitch shooting scrubs to "Let the bodies hit the floor" you nerd, you're playing a fighting game. I paid top dollar for a solid PC and I'd be an idiot to ignore controllers as a way to better effectively use it.
And like, i'm staunchly a PC gamer, i'll get anything on PC over console if i can just because it's what i prefer, but i'll totally concede that some games just play better on console or with a controller, there's no denying it.
man i love playing anything and everything kb/m but dark souls is just not the game for it. i'd rather use a wheel than the kb/m.

Consoles are great though. sadly you have to pay money for 'unique' controllers to work on PC. you can get a wired xbox controller cheap but anything else needs an adaptor for wireless 100% worth it however. In gta5 I drive with a pro u controller and do everything else with a gamepad/mouse
God i can't even imagine going back to driving without a controller in games like that and Saint's Row.
Go outside and hop into a car, drive on a high way now every time you turn, instead of gradually turning, snap your wheel left or right to go left or right oh and instead of slowly accelerating, slam on the gas as hard as you can and tap it to slow down, exclusively slam on the brakes as well, don't use turn signals either.
I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED ROCK BAND MICROPHONES WERE THE ONLY WAY TO GO.
I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED ROCK BAND MICROPHONES WERE THE ONLY WAY TO GO.
this is the definitive dark souls experience, every time you want to golf swing you scream "FIRE ALL CANNONS!"
I THOUGHT WE ALL AGREED ROCK BAND MICROPHONES WERE THE ONLY WAY TO GO.
many people don't have the bass in their voice to unleash the true potential they have to settle with the dk drums
it's still kind of weird to me that some enemies are unique and there are like, two are three of them in the game two examples, the monster down the sewers that lead to the sinner and the gnomes that one of them is stuck at the entrance of the shaded woods and one of them is at door of pharros
does anyone else hold their controller like this when playing dark souls? [t]http://puu.sh/hWGw1/5434095bbd.png[/t] all my friends say i'm batshit for doing it but i'm still holding out hope that i'm not the only one
