That's what I mean- [sp]you technically do it on one playthrough, but you still get to the very end as though it was a neutral run, with the game reacting to you as you acted.[/sp]

I'd agree, but to me it feels like Mettaton is an extension of Alphys' character.
Especially given that [sp]Alphys staying alive or not during a neutral run is solely dependent on whether or not you destroy Mettaton.[/sp]
His story is intertwined with a main character Alphys, and by association, the rest of the crew (mostly the player character). You see him for a fabulously~ large portion of the Hotland segment. You can't say any of this about Muffet, for example.

I think thats mostly due to reused assets. I'd speculate further but it'd be just that, speculation.

Yes, he was an extension of Alphys' character, and more important than Muffet was.
However, he as a character simply did not care enough about the character to be best friends with them like the other major characters did.
Hell, if he hadn't changed after the fight, he wouldn't have even given a damn about you

She also [sp]uses the electricity bolt things to protect you from Flowey during the True Ending[/sp].

Well [sp] asriels fight is pretty much a boss rush, and alphys doesn't have a boss fight, to my knowledge. It would be poor game design to throw in a new boss fight for her lost soul while the player is still in a new boss fight that theyre not familiar with.[/sp]

Someone said I shouldn't put him in the pack because it's a spoiler, I mean if you're talking about Dreemur maybe, but isn't Asriel in the intro? or am I remembering that wrong. That's right, actually. It's pretty much "hey remember how this all works?" kinda fight while keeping a new fight on top.

Well, unless the person has pre-existing knowledge they exist but not where, its a spoiler. If not, its not too much of a spoiler. In my opinion at least. Could just make it an extra pack with a big ? over their blackened sprite with huge SPOILERS warnings all over.

I don't think [sp]Asriel[/sp] is in the intro.
You might be thinking of the scene that happens after you [sp]try to SAVE Asriel's soul at the end of his ultimate form.[/sp]

I dunno how much of a spoiler you would count that, I mean you don't see Muffet till quite near the end of the game so isn't showing her a spoiler too? Also [sp]even though you have Asriel in it nobody who doesn't yet know would know what part does the character play in the game, is it vital to the story at all or just maybe random background character[/sp]

Muffet's different in that she's a one-off character with no real plot relevance, only existing thanks to being a Kickstarter backer character. Same with So Sorry, although I know a lot of people never even encounter that one (I know I didn't). [sp]Asriel on the other hand is basically a gigantic plot point in that we only extremely loosely hear about Toriel's and Asgore's children through the game, and then the entire New Home reveal is the first time you hear Asriel's name. Not to mention that going into his fight in the True Pacifist route intentionally reveals his full name unlike any other boss in the game just for the surprise value alone if players were paying attention.[/sp]

Depends. Name-wise it can be hard to figure if one lacks context to [sp]Asgore being horrible at naming things,[/sp] but visually, hell yes it's a spoiler. [sp]There's literally only two other goat people in the game and his appearance reveal is also a big twist in the True Pacifist run.[/sp]
I think you should go ahead and put him in the pack. Just make it known that the pack contains spoiler characters.
Besides, who's downloading an Undertale sprite pack without knowing the game, anyway?

Yeah it's a spoiler, somewhat lame that someone on the forums is using his full sprite for a avatar too. It's one of those things that I just know is going to get a "Oh, I saw a avatar of this character so it doesn't really surprise me" things
