Oh man, I almost lost a lung when I faced the Lesser Dog. Did he knew people would pet that thing into oblivion?
For the first time I've witnessed a steam friend mysteriously quit and reload undertale, it's nice knowing why.
you should give specops: the line a spin too oh shit ninjas
I don't even really mean to devalue the meaning of the message of Spec Ops, really, but the execution is pretty hamfisted and pretty much the whole point of the game since nothing else about it stands out. There's games out there that have tried to point out the issues of things both with and involving the player, that were done better than that.
Only games I can think off on top of my head that had a radically feeling and plot point when going through good and evil routes are Knights of the Old Republic and Soul Nomad.
Holy crap, this is the first time I've ever seen anyone else mention Soul Nomad, that game's way too underrated. [sp]SMT4 isn't drastically different for most of the game, but does have some interesting ending changes; and it's morality system is interestingly done as well, in my personal opinion[/sp]

Definitely one of the most unique RPGs out there and deserves to be played just out of playing through both the normal route and demon route alone. It's amazing how much it feels so different from each other, and how much of an evil villain you can actually feel like during the demon route. Also yeah SMT4 and the series in general have really good writing overall, one of the best examples of handling morality and choices very well to the point even the 'worst' ending where you destroy everything in SMT4 makes you feel like you sorta did the right thing in a way out of desperation compared to choosing either sides. Hopefully more games follow on stuff like these, it's really great when games give out a very different experience depending on your choices and not just being some arbitrary choice A and choice B to get a slightly different ending. Undertale is definitely one of the best examples right now since it merges both gameplay and storyline choices so well that it all feels very natural and provides a larger impact overall.[/sp]

Any good genocide playthroughs around? May have gotten addicted to watching people's reaction to [sp]Anime Undyne and Sans[/sp] Only one I watched so far is Slowbeef's, and I really recommend it.

Doesn't matter how you look at it it is always real to some extent, I mean if I draw a thing on paper it is real because it exists.
Doesn't matter how you look at it it is always real to some extent, I mean if I draw a thing on paper it is real because it exists.
Which is why both answers to that question are correct. Anime is real because you can watch it. But some of its depictions don't apply to the real world, therefore the contents are not realistic. [editline]24th October 2015[/editline] Also is the typo when [sp]explaining anime to Asgore[/sp] intentional?
I've been listening to 'Death By Glamour' non-stop for the past few days, I need help. But that sax...
I've been trying to play it on my alto sax, but it's really hard to hit those really high notes. Again, could be the broken reed.
Okay, I officially have a problem. I'm just keep watching people play the game on youtube over and over again, and I plan to get some of my friends to buy it so I can watch them play. I've also been listening to the soundtrack nonstop since I bought it. I seriously cannot get enough of this game. 4 of my own playthroughs wasn't even enough.

I'd probably be bored as hell if I had to watch someone play it over and over again but if you enjoy replaying it then who cares, you'll eventually be burned out anyway.

Something that's been in my head lately. Any of you play a DS game by the name of Contact? [sp]Thematically, it's not really similar at all, but it did some interesting meta things as well, and when I'm thinking back to Undertale, it keeps coming to mind as well[/sp]
Do the hot dogs actually stack when your inventory is full, or is it just flavor text when sans "puts the hot dog...?" on your head
They visibly stack. And have physics.
Thats amazing
Ok, cleared True Pacifist ending. Whoa. And I thought Neutral was wild. This is meta as fuck. [sp]Was Chara... a dark, malevolent reflection of the player and his/her habitual knack for grand violence and the need to grow stronger? Was the player an outer force controlling Frisk, or "guiding" them toward either a path of violence, or absolute friendliness? All I know is that despite my usually pacifistic tendencies with games when possible, it can regardless be quite the punch when you realize Chara, who is assigned YOUR name, is implied to have been acting a lot like a typical player of video games. Loot, kill, progress. Repeat until numb to emotion. But in defense of players, games these days give you few options outside of self defense or pursuing a goal told to you. You are usually told what you should believe in, but sometimes you can pursue what you actually believe in yourself, personally.[/sp] Jesus christ, this game makes you think. Think about influence that actions can have, what the consequences can be.
Yep. [sp] This is how I always saw it. It's interesting, since the intention was that Chara's name was supposed to be yours, it's basically a reflection of you when you play. I always thought the reason everyone called you Chara's name was because Flowey/Asriel was watching you the whole time, and projected his name onto you. [/sp]

Except for [sp]Your inventory, and battle screens[/sp]
Except for [sp]Your inventory, and battle screens[/sp]
that's [sp]chara influencing you into thinking it's a game, specifically using RPG elements.[/sp]
possible spoilers? I tried a thing
I need that Toriel plush good sir.
Honestly, [sp]i'm tired nowadays of games doing something like, "OKAY BLOW THE SHIT UP," and then the game goes out of its way to torture you about why blowing that shit up is so bad despite having no other choice other than to stop playing the game. Spec Ops: The Line especially. Undertale is unique in that if you slaughter every single character and all the random encounters? That was your choice you saw through to the end, you never backed out of it despite numerous opportunities, and you get the resounding punishment you deserve.[/sp]
But [sp]Spec Ops the Line gets away with it because it's not about the player, it's about the character in particular going to hell. The player is criticized for being a sadistic spectator and the only ability to stop it all the player is given is to literally stop playing since it's one of those games that actually includes giving up as part of the story, like how Dark Souls' hollows are basically players that gave up at various stages of the game.[/sp]
