I'm going to end it the way it's supposed to be when i've made sure Chara is truly gone.[/sp]
[sp]Chara is never truly gone, you know[/sp]
So, due to my motherboard shitting the bed, I get to play through the entirety of Undertale again.
Namely because Undertale's save files are stored in the appdata section of the Windows user profile, and I had to re-install Windows...
So, I kind of want to start the game going full genocide from the start, but I just can't help but also want to make everyone happy again.
Either way, I get to experience the game again from the absolute beginning, so yay?

Hey guys. In just 2 days, this became my favourite RPG; I did the Pacifist-Neutral route first and then did True Pacifist, and watched the more important parts of the Genocide Route in Youtube. But, I am confused about the Genocide Run's ending (also True Pacifist spoilers):
[sp]1. Why does Chara destroy the world? He mentions that there was "nothing left" for him and the player, but they only killed the monsters. Chara supposedly hated humanity too, why not go after them too without destroying EVERYTHING?
2. Why couldn't we take the souls for ourselves after killing Flowey - or is that exactly what happened, leading to Chara's reincarnation? If that's the case, then is it safe to assume that Chara is Frisk's true form, since in the TP route Flowey takes the souls of everything and he becomes Asriel? In that case, why are Pacifist runs even possible, even post-genocide? Why does Chara go out of his way to True Pacifist, only to (allegedly) kill everyone at the very end? Is this because the previous world was destroyed and we sold our soul to him?
3. Sans mentions sometimes a "we" when speaking about the spacetime continuum and stuff. Who's "we"??? And where are THEY in post-genocide? If Chara is on the loose, then THEY must be aware of it in some other timeline! Sans is very well aware of your previous pacifist playthrough if you have one, so why isn't he aware of a previous genocide?
3.1. Sans also mentions a "they", supposedly this was before he realized that the player was the culprit, and mentioned "they" were behind it. Who're "they"??? Other humans? Other players?
3.2. Is it fair to assume that Sans was aware of Chara's plot from the start?
4. Post-Genocide Genocide, you reincarnate Chara again. But you already sold your soul to him. So what's going on here?
5. Chara mentions that "Our plan had failed". What plan was this? "Our" plan, in fact? Did Frisk have something in mind with Chara the whole time? Or is it about his plan with Asriel waaay back when they both got killed?[/sp]
Sure, the Genocide run deliberately leaves some things in the air just to prove a point, but I'm having a hard time understanding every implication of it.
Either that, or I really need to go and kill everyone to understand everything. Or I'm just dumb.

[sp]Basically Chara was 'reincarnated' via where Frisk landed on its grave at the beginning of the game, and by this point in the story it's pretty much Giygas but sentient still and yet a form of malevolence in and of itself. Calling Chara's name that you gave them seemed to be what woke them up combined with your murdering, to the point that Chara can awaken not even halfway through the Ruins if you do grind really early on. Sans wasn't aware of Chara's plot, but he's aware of the timeline fuckery to an extent thanks to both you and Flowey beforehand, even on True Resets, even if his memories don't come with. Also it's pretty much implied that by the point you see Chara at the end, you've exterminated the whole world, or will do so. Their original plan was to destroy their home village they despised by committing suicide and then possessing Asriel to destroy them all, but Asriel had half of the control still and just let the villagers kill them both altogether.[/sp]
Also, [sp]"they" may be Gaster, who is implied to of been working with Sans on the timeline stuff when he accidentally used a machine that caused him to be ripped across space-time itself - and the game's code, as Gaster only exists within the game itself as a warped and tattered entity who less than a handful of people still remember, and others who did remember were warped like he was. Sans is trying to repair the machine to try to fix this- but the developer has stated they'll never succeed.[/sp]
[sp]For 1 and 2, a human cannot absorb another human's soul. Since Flowey destroys Asgores soul Frisk/Chara may be trapped behind the barrier.
I'm actually curious if that was Floweys intention as he uses an entire ring of bullets rather then the one bullet in the neutral ending.[/sp]
[sp]1. You can probably assume chara destroys the human world offscreen
2. Chara isn't related to Frisk at all, he's the child who grew up with Asriel, and was kind of a dick. He killed himself so Asriel could cross the barrier, take human souls, and shatter the barrier, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.
3. I think they was used as a gender-neutral pronoun more than plural...don't quote me on that. Sans in general is mysterious, too; if you find his secret room there's a photo of him with a bunch of characters you don't know. Also, I don't think Sans knows about Chara.
4. I think Chara just shows up to erase the world again. Not that i'm the kind of person who would see what happens if you do genocide more than once. :x
5. Yes, it's that plan.[/sp]
Edit: I'm late, have some content:

[sp]So in a genocide run, you can actually spare Jerry (presumably because he's so pathetic he isn't worth the time.)
Why has no one done a comic of Jerry wandering around an empty Underground?[/sp]

[sp]Because Jerry's not worth having a comic being made about him.[/sp]
[sp]2. Chara isn't related to Frisk at all, he's the child who grew up with Asriel, and was kind of a dick. [sp]I get the feeling that Chara didn't really care too much about shattering the barrier and freeing everyone. He probably just said that so Asriel would go along with his plan. It's pretty clear that he just wanted to use the human souls (that he couldn't use without Asriel) to become all powerful and wipe out humanity.[/sp]
God, Hopes & Dreams is such a good track. During the [sp]Asriel fight, it makes it seem like you're having a fierce competition with a friend rather than fighting them.[/sp] (True pacifist spoilers)
Also, the True Pacifist ending hits me like a truck every time. I'm still enamoured in feels after I beat it for the first time a while ago.

for all intents and purposes, that's exactly what's happening though. [sp]asriel doesn't want to kill you, even as flowey. he just wants to play with you forever and ever. plus, asriel's final form is essentially an 8 year old's idea of a super(villain), complete with called attacks. [/sp]

[sp]In neutral and genocide route, there are no monster souls for you to escape to the surface with. Where does the player end up after killing flowey?[/sp]
[sp]In neutral and genocide route, there are no monster souls for you to escape to the surface with. Where does the player end up after killing flowey?[/sp]
Well, [sp]the sheer power of Frisk's possessed soul at that point could do literally endless 9's in damage. He could probably strike down the barrier in one fell swoop to leave. Meanwhile I guess Flowey's save fuckery in the neutral ending just puts Frisk conveniently in a location where he can bypass the barrier without any issues.[/sp]
i love to hate jerry
hes fun to draw

[Sp]I know this is a joke but if Napstablook can "refuse" the light then the light can refuse Jerry (though I don't remember him appearing in the postgame so he may have been absorbed either way)[/sp]

I like to think Jerry is still on that battle screen you left him on.
So I decided to fuck around with mus_smile, the audio playing in that one creepy video.
[sp] Otherwise known as Gaster's Entry #17. When sped up with the pitch slightly, one could hear what sounds like a cry for help; "Sssaaaaaaaansss". However, when sped up in Audacity at about... 380%, the true nature of the garbled screeching is revealed: It's a creepy, slowed down version of Muffet's laugh. http://vocaroo.com/i/s12MktlylFt4[/sp]
Of course, I could be late to this party.
Not sure if this has been posted or not, but

This kinda brings up the idea that [sp]Asgore's shock from seeing Frisk coulda partially been from them looking a lot like Chara, instead of him just not wanting to kill them.[/sp]

[sp]Jerry was busy at a party turning all the rolls of toilet paper around to face the wrong way so he missed it[/sp]

[sp]I saw Asgore's hesitance as Frisk being so far gone that they didn't even look human by that point, at least in genocide.[/sp]
my bro is starting a geno run
best part: he doesn't know what he signed up for
even better: i told him to use spare on a certain someone for "extra dialogue"
he gonna kill me for that

His lines kinda contradict that, though it's not a completely terrible line of thinking.
Also that artist is really good but I can't stop giggling at the D: closeup panel. Something about it seems really silly to me.

That's definitely possible too, especially since [sp]other characters make comments like that too. Undyne calls Frisk "whatever you are", and Sans tells them to "pretend" to be human for Papyrus's sake.[/sp]
[sp]But yeah, at least for genocide.[/sp]

True, but I figured he could've still just [sp]only brought up one of his several possible reasons for being shocked.[/sp]
