Changing the engine while conserving the modding capacities and all of the features as they are would be a fucking nightmare.
It would take them years just to "convert" all the features into another engine, and in the end it may not even be able more stable because as long as you run AI simulations that are more complex than average your performance [I]is[/I] going to tank. Even Dwarf Fortress starts shitting the bed when too many units are performing actions at once and it's an ASCII game.
Open world games in general always have framerate issues. The Witcher 3 has Novigrad which is a huge dense as fuck city and it tends to drop FPS quite hard, and it's on an engine people praise a lot in comparison to CE.

Oh my fucking god, this mod is such a mess. I set it to No Remorse because "I ain't no pussy". Holy fucking shit, I literally go from one group of enemies into another, there's ALWAYS firefight going off in the distance. I once turned on VATS and I counted: 46 targets on the screen. I don't even have time to quick save :v:

Honestly it's not that far fetched, fallout 3's metro tunnels would have been incredible with Fallout 4's art direction and better lighting.

I'd like to see some mods that make use of the modification system by putting in a really busted and shitty looking weapon that you progressively fix and improve over time.
I hope someone will take the times to convert many of the fallout 3 and new vegas outfit in HD for fallout 4, i mean i'd like to get eulogy jones outfit..
There are so many thing possible to do with this game, this is crazy! Modding will be better than fallout 3 in every ways.

actually, i like all the guns this guy has, been running around with his r91. you can mod the ammo used independently of the receiver, too, which owns
Why the fuck isn't there a way to transfer all your mods on one gun to a different one easily, it's so fucking stupid. I just found an explosive hunting rifle, something I'll finally actually use, but all my sniper mods are on this regular-ass hunting rifle I've had since the beginning of the game.
Now I've gotta go manually swap mods, probably going to have to waste materials on "standard" parts.

You don't have to do that unless you either sold all the standard parts, or didn't store them in the workbench you're using to do this transfer.
