So th0rianite sent me this http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424/ and I am currently installing it, but my question is, how often should I download the newest one? Do I have to? [editline]24th February 2016[/editline] How buggy is the beta update?

I'm assuming most mods will get pretty optimized after we have the geck. Personally I'm waiting for the geck to come out before I download most mods for my second playthrough but that's just me.
I like how laser/plasma weapons will disintegrate individual limbs as you shoot them off instead of just ash-piling the target as with a critical hit
Yay, this is the first time I've ever seen Deacon outside of the Railroad shit. [t]http://puu.sh/njh5m/b45ae65501.jpg[/t]

I'm up to 110 at the moment
I actually liked Boston so much better than dc. Fallout 4's art direction looks more like a retro-futuristic america after a nuclear war than the other recent games, the other two just made it look like 50s america after a nuke hit it and didn't have much futuristic stuff going on out-side of the occasional robot walking around and the odd advanced looking scorched vehicle.
The only thing that irks me is the fucking weapon design choices and the fucking retarded amount of Pipe Rifles and .38 ammo in fucking military bases. This is a fucking cut weapon from the game itself and it's just borderline odd why they cut it. They showed it in the damn opening movie, and hell for nitpickings sack why is the R91 still seen a item on the commando perk? [thumb]http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/f/f9/FO4-assaultrifle-proto.png/revision/latest?cb=20151204071834[/thumb] My only other real complaint the combat armor, I kinda hate/like it. Maybe give a full suit of combat armor ala Fallout 1 - NV and keep the more, I guess modular bits in base games as modular or civilian versions of it, I mean fuck they have THE SAME FUCKING HELMET FROM FALLOUT 3 AS A WEARABLE ITEM.
I hope the robot DLC and/or cage fighting DLC reinvigorates Easy City Downs and the Combat Zone with the stuff that was cut for time.
So far in my NCR Ranger playthrough, I have murdered the Railroad before they even turned on the lights to question why I was there, and now I killed off Danse and his pals while Big Iron played on the radio. Good times. Sounds like she was drunk and they were like, "Yeah fuck it, let's just throw that in."
Sounds like she was drunk and they were like, "Yeah fuck it, let's just throw that in."
It's because she is. They recorded different interrupts for when you're drunk. Like instead of saying, "uh huh," and what not, they'll say "sing it brother" and generally slurr. Shame that doesn't carry over to their regular dialogue
Or they took between-take voice exercises and repurposed them. VAs will frequently rattle off stupid stuff between takes to keep the words they're repeating over and over from sounding meaningless. It's a real problem, and it's why their performances deteriorate so fast if they don't.
[t]http://i.imgbox.com/Zlxs5Tjd.jpg[/t] This image perfectly shows my problem with these enemies. On the right, you have a nice lore friendly enemy, like an idea of what an unmasked "Ghost Person" would look like. Then you have fucking El Gigante from RE4 with Behemoth animations on the left just fucking messing it all up for the sake of variety. Last I checked, while awesome, Horror moments/games are about the horror, not a sexy catwalk of spoopy monsters. Or at least not JUST spoopy monsters as it just seems. Also this note REALLY bothers me. I know I'm a gamer and I want to take all the gold and take on the encumberment so I can make mad caps for days. BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKE ALL THE GOLD IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE MAIN MESSAGE OF THE DLC! THE MESSAGE OF LETTING GO DESPITE REALLY WANTING SOMETHING!
It's very impressive what he was able to do, but it doesn't work to be lore friendly at all. But from what I've experience from the VGU, GUN, GU, or whatever the fuck they're calling themselves now, they care about being lore friendly about as much as lover's lab cares about restraint. It's shocking that even after the better half of a decade they're the same product just with new packaging. There was a mod for fallout 3 which did something similar on a smaller scale, I wish I still had it. It wasn't exactly lore friendly, but it didn't complete destroy the point either. Basically it added 3 new super mutants to the capitol wasteland based off of the executioner and chainsaw man from resident evil 5, and pyramid head from silent hill.. They used the models for the weapons from those games, and added the clothing from their respective characters onto the super mutant model. For example the executioner mutant was still the super mutant but had the butcher's apron and mask. If I can find it I'll be sure to upload it. On another note, do we know what happened to Alaska after the bombs dropped? I'm brainstorming locations for a small quest mod I plan on making and uploading as a private mod to vgu once the geck is released.
I think you can safely assume that Alaska was blasted into a horrific, uncivilized nuclear winter hellscape, but Alaskans probably didn't notice the change.
I think you can safely assume that Alaska was blasted into a horrific, uncivilized nuclear winter hellscape, but Alaskans probably didn't notice the change.
"I gotta go to school. What is this gaping hole in the Earth? Nope, I gotta go to school." And they are pretty fucking fine with it.
I got the urge to re-replay 3 recently but I know that I can never go back from the improvements in 4. The quick loot menu, it's just too convenient to abandon.

[t]http://puu.sh/njh5m/b45ae65501.jpg[/t]
I talked to him in Goodneighbor and he gave me a misc objective. [sp]It didn't occur to me until I made it to the Slocum's Joe that the little shit actually sent me off on the first half of the first Railroad quest without telling me[/sp]
its pretty cool how deacon follows you everywhere before you meet him you'd never really notice it until you play through the game again
Woah really?
its pretty cool how deacon follows you everywhere before you meet him you'd never really notice it until you play through the game again
I noticed him in the memory lounger and when he poses as a diamond city security guard, but only because he stuck out due to his cool shades. I literally didn't think anything of it until I went on here after I completed the game and saw people posting pictures of him as a companion. [sp] I slaughtered him without ever properly meeting him in my first run through. [/sp]
Funny because in Fallout 4 5.56 is now the rarest thing.
Funny because in Fallout 4 5.56 is now the rarest thing.
yeah it's kinda fucked that I have more 50 cal rounds than 5.56 :v:
good god they need to return that chinese assault rifle, i found it one of the most satisfying weapons in fo3, and it just felt so good to use on top of doing some pretty serious damage with a high small guns skill/near perfect condition, and the fact that 5.56mm rounds are pretty common to find.
I always hated how that gun was a straight upgrade over the assault rifle. I mostly hated how ugly the gun was in first person (marshmallow grip) but it was a fucking fun gun to use. Once the GECK comes out someone needs to turn the "Assault Rifle" into a machinegun and add that gun, even just as the assault rifle if no one can be bothered to add the R91.
Funny because in Fallout 4 5.56 is now the rarest thing.
Really? Maybe it's because I rarely use the assault rifle but I have almost 10,000 rounds laying around. Turrets and leveled gunners drop the stuff constantly. What I'm actually hurting for is shotgun shells. Scrounger doesn't make them spawn more frequently like it's supposed to.

I remember a point when getting .45 was a pain in the ass, and now I've got nearly as much .45 as I do .38. 5.56 was once rare too, and I only managed to get it from turrets, but now a good bulk of the enemies I fight are using assault rifles, so it's abundant as heck.
Woah really?
Didn't think anything was amiss when I first saw Deacon as a guard, just thought it was a unique one that'd be used for a quest later. Then I heard the same voice again in Goodneighbor and started to get reeeaaally suspicious.
