Wait, there's a little cinematic camera thing for Hancock's speech? I've never seen that before.
how did the nuke in the middle of megaton get there? it is obviously an air dropped bomb, did china have bombers flying over DC?
is the nuke in megaton american?
Wait, there's a little cinematic camera thing for Hancock's speech? I've never seen that before.
You gotta "speak" to one of the NPCs during the speech. I never had Deacon pitch in though, last time it was just one of the random npcs.
Looks like an early rundown of the new "survival" mode has been "leaked", I don't really know what to call it but here it is (Source):
Saving
Manual and quicksaving are disabled. To save your game, you’ll need to find a bed and sleep for at least an hour.
Combat
Combat is more lethal for everyone. You now deal, but also take, more damage. You can increase the damage you deal even further with “Adrenaline” (see below).
Fast Travel
Fast Travel is disabled. If you wish to be somewhere, you’ll have to physically travel there.
Weighted Ammo
Bullets and shells now all have a small amount of weight, which varies by caliber. Heavier items such as fusion cores, rockets, and mini-nukes can really drag you down.
Compass
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as enemies will no longer appear on your compass. As well, the distance at which locations of interest will appear has been significantly shortened.
Adrenaline
Survival automatically grants the Adrenaline perk, which provides a bonus to your damage output. Unlike other perks, the only way to increase your rank of the Adrenaline perk is by getting kills (hostile or otherwise). The higher your Adrenaline rank, the higher the damage bonus. Sleeping for more than an hour, however, will cause your Adrenaline rank to lower. You can check your current Adrenaline rank at any time in the Perks section on the Stat tab in your Pip-Boy.
Wellness
You’ll find it difficult to survive without taking proper care of yourself. You must stay hydrated, fed, and rested to remain combat-ready. Going for extended periods of time without food, water, or sleep will begin to adversely affect your health, hurting your SPECIAL stats, adding to your Fatigue (see “Fatigue” below), lowering your immunity (see “Sickness” below), and eventually even dealing physical damage to you.
Fatigue
Fatigue works like radiation but affects your Action Points (AP) rather than your Hit Points (HP). The more Fatigue you’ve built up, the less AP you’ll have for other actions. The amount of Fatigue you’ve accumulated is displayed in red on your AP bar.
Sickness
A comprised immune system and a few questionable decisions can end up getting you killed. Eating uncooked meat, drinking unpurified water, taking damage from disease-ridden sources, such as ghouls and bugs, or using harmful Chems all put your body at increased risk for various ill effects. When you are afflicted with an illness, a message will appear onscreen. You can view specifics about your current illnesses by navigating to the Status section on your Pip-Boy’s Data tab and pressing [RShoulder] to view your active effects.
Antibiotics
Antibiotics, which can be crafted at Chem Stations or purchased from doctors, heal the various effects of sickness.
Bed Types
The type of bed you’re sleeping in determines the length of time you are able to stay asleep. A sleeping bag will save your game and may help save your life when you’re desperate, but it will never allow for a full night’s rest and the benefits that come with it.
Crippled Limbs

Crippled limbs will no longer auto-heal after combat and will remain crippled until healed by a Stimpak.
Carry Weight
Exceeding your carry weight reduces your Endurance and Agility stats and periodically damages your legs and health. Think of your back!
Companions
Companions will no longer automatically get back up if downed during combat and will return home if abandoned without being healed.
Enemy and Loot Repopulation
Locations you’ve cleared will now repopulate enemies and loot at a significantly slower rate.
I hope someone makes a mod where you can disable some of this shit. Like sleeping in order to save? Yeah that's not such a great idea when Bethesda's games are about as stable as a bowling ball on a toothpick. I quicksave all the time because I'm afraid of the damn thing crashing suddenly which is usually what happens.
Reduced respawn rate? It's already slow enough as is, that's one reason I love the Commonwealth Spawns Extended mod, and the whole reason I got it is because shit respawns so slowly that most of the time there's absolutely nothing to fight.
how did the nuke in the middle of megaton get there? it is obviously an air dropped bomb, did china have bombers flying over DC?
I may be wrong but air missiles were never developed in the fallout universe, so it had to be bombers.
It was never clarified how exactly the bombs were sent everywhere pretty much all at once in so little time, although the relative inefficiency of using a bomber and not missiles partly explains why things aren't as fucked as they could have been.
There were bombers as well as ICBMs as well as shorter range missiles launched from submarines.
So bringing up this old discussion again let's have a rating vote.
The next Fallout should take place in:
Hawaii-Agree
New Orleans-Disagree
Texas-Funny
Core Region-Winner
Other-Dumb
Is there a mod that lets me place objects in red without a cheat engine?
Also, I remember seeing a mod that lets you place items as a static object, can anyone provide a link?

I really like Snap'n'Build, it's a shame most of it doesn't have navmeshing.

What I'd really like is for Bethesda and Obsidian alternate, while Bethesda does the East Coast and Obsidian the West Coast. Everybody gets a little bit of what they want
I don't want bethesda to do new orleans
I wish technical documents and viable blood samples stopped being produced in loot tables when you become an enemy of the Brotherhood. It's kind of irritating seeing them spawn for me when I can't really do anything with them.
Would have been even nicer if you there was somebody else you can give them to. Like Evan Watson for the technical documents, seeing as how he's already interested in blueprints.
I wanna make my fallout 4 vanilla again before the dlc comes out, get rid of all my mods. Is there any way of doing that without having to reinstall the entire thing?
But what about [sp]Zhao's tactical missile thingies?[/sp]

Well, how did you install them? I use the Nexus Mod Manager thing.

The easiest thing to do would be to clear out most of your Data folder.
Leave the .ba2, .csg and .cdx files, and delete all of the .esm/.esp files apart from Fallout4.esm. I think if you then delete all of the folders other than the Video folder, you should have gotten rid of all of the mods. Just verify your game in Steam once that's done and it'll restore any files that are missing/aren't the vanilla files. That shouldn't be too big a download, as I don't think Bethesda left many other files in the Data folder.
Of course, this doesn't do anything to anything you've put in the Fallout 4 folder itself, but it shouldn't be too hard to work out what to keep and what not to keep there.
What's a good source of wood and steel other than relying on shipments? I've cleared all the settlement locations for scrap, and i recycle any weapons i find, but I'm still always scraping the barrel. I have shitloads of pretty much everything else.
Or just use mod organizer and save yourself all the hassle

How is it possible to run low on wood? Sanctuary had enough wood to last me a long ass time.

I build a lot. There are no trees left in any of my settlements. (except the huge one in covenant cos i thought it looked cool)
Or just use mod organizer and save yourself all the hassle
It's best to use Mod Organizer with a clean install anyway, so you'd still have to go through that process.
Mod Organizer is still only in an early alpha state for Fallout 4 as well, so it's still got problems. Like some people not being able to run the game through it, which is pretty essential for how it works.

General Atomics Galleria has an ample supply of wood in the form of bowling pins. But other than that, all I can say is scrap weapons and buy all junk indiscriminately. I take my haul of purified water and aid items I don't use and I travel between Moe Cronin in Diamond City, then to Supervisor Greene at Gray Garden, then to Connie Abernathy at their farm for each traders shipments of wood.
I'd like to see a map where the outer rim is basically Stalker's zone and the center is basically metro 2033's moscow. You can hang out in the outer rim just fine but you need to pick up some heavy gear when you start going toward the center and the closest you get to the core the more brutal things get.
Kind of like what Fallout 3 tried to do but a lot less forgiving and with the focus area in the dead center of the map, rather than it being offset like New Vegas and the DC Ruins. Also a lot like Last Light's dlc level Kshatriya, which is imo the absolute best level in the series.

Is that the one where you play as a random Stalker and need to upgrade your gear more and more and find all the artifacts? The only reason why I hated that level was because it doesn't save your progress, if it does then Metro Redux fucked it up and it doesn't do it.
Yeah that's the one, I fucking loved doing that level, and also playing as Hans, badass silent Shock Trooper with a Minigun, wrecking shit and looking cool.
how did the nuke in the middle of megaton get there? it is obviously an air dropped bomb, did china have bombers flying over DC?
it was actually an entire plane originally, but the plane was used for scrap leaving only the bomb in the center. The old lady there tells you, can't remember her name.

You have to manually save your progress at the hideout (the hint monitor right next to the hideout's exit even tells you that). No way to save once you're outside though, which is a big part of the fun.
