I think the saving thing is really good, because quick save makes the game super easy. Especially being able to save during a conversation.
Sure it's going to make it super frustrating sometimes, but it'll make the game a whole lot more challenging, which it desperately needs.

I would totally like a system like that in a hardcore game.... in a hardcore game that wasnt made by bethesda.
Outside the heart of the city the perfomance its fine, you can have decent fps and you may not have any CTD, if youre lucky.
But inside Boston.... no way this might work :unimpressed:

i'm actually surprised at how little i've ctd'd in this game, probably only 10 or so times

you heard right
You're a couple days late on that
Only CTDs I've had have most likely been the result of using loads of mods made with an unofficial mod tool. Didn't have a single crash without mods.

luckily it's a system relegated to a separate difficulty setting in a bethesda game
i get low frames in fo4 a fair bit but i can still count the amount of ctd's i've gotten on my fingers and it's nearly always been mod related
I don't want bethesda to do new orleans
I don't want anyone to do New Orleans. What the hell is down there that would make for an interesting Fallout game?

thick swamps, lots of wilderness space alongside very old architecture, interesting wildlife, unique culture that's very distinct from the rest of North America
You have to manually save your progress at the hideout (the hint monitor right next to the hideout's exit even tells you that). No way to save once you're outside though, which is a big part of the fun.
I did that but it still started me from the beginning when I came back to it.
fallout minnesota when?

I want Fallout: China with [sp]Zhao from fallout 4[/sp].

Without mods, I only ever Crashed once, and that was about < 100 hours of gameplay.

We need Fallout: Great British Empire...and it's a still a shit hole and people are somehow still getting taxed.
As long as Fallout in New York never happens i'm happy.
If they did Detroit, modern day pictures would be good for reference.
I've crashed once as well, vanilla with 200 hours.
One thing I'm veeeryy interested to see how they handle without fast travel is settlements.
[A SETTLEMENT IS UNDER ATTACK] when you're on the opposite side of Boston? If you happen to [sp] have joined the brotherhood and want to use up a vertibird signal[/sp] then okay, but otherwise what?
Also, I saw someone had problems with not having enough wood, and I get this too. Myrna occasionally has 4 x 100 steel shipments, but Moe only has like 1 x 100 wood. If I'm making my way all the way to Diamond City, I better be able to get a butt load of materials.

At least it'll stop me fast travelling to an unfortified farm to discover two alpha death claws.
I wonder if they'll remove fast travel mats as well for that mode.
Wait hang on, how are you supposed to get into the Institute without fast travel? I hope they thought that through...

A. They didn't. B. They will exclude that from the fast travel list.

So apparently, and I never knew this, Bethesda has a slogan. Guess what it is?
"The third largest privately held personal computer entertainment software company in America."
Just rolls right off the tongue. I'm lovin' it. Have it your way. The third largest privately held personal computer entertainment software company in America.

Great, a reason why you shouldnt pick the institute in survival mode....
Its actually confirmed to be that way?
Maybe they DID thought about that and created a pistol or something that when you use/shoot it you will teleport to that place, like in new vegas.
OR maybe its like aperture science and theres an elevator or something similar in some hidden or concealed place

Or: It is just the only map marker that does anything when you click on it while you are in their good graces.

Time to go through the [sp]sewer entrance[/sp] for every Institute quest.
Time to go through the [sp]sewer entrance[/sp] for every Institute quest.
I'll honestly doubt they'll forbid it. Every other major faction still gets to utilize a vertibird at some point, which I'm sure will take the place of fast traveling for players who support other factions. [sp]Allowing people to fast travel because of the Institute's teleportation relay seems like it'll be one of newer the perks of being allied with them, much like the vertibird travel.[/sp]
I wonder if they'll remove fast travel mats as well for that mode.
Well with Fast Travel removed I'd take that as a given.
Good thing Vertibirds are a thing.

Add a misc item
you equip it while in the Commonwealth, you get zapped to the Institute. you equip while in the Institute, you get zapped to your previous location.

Might as well just have a Big Institute Transportalponder at that rate.
Having to slog through the world without fast travel sounds like a deal breaker. Like, exploring is fun, but there's plenty of quests that lead you through the same areas and paths, often right through one of 3 million raider/mutant camps.

Perhaps, but with slower area respawns you're less likely to get sent to level 1 Corvega Factory again three cunting times in a row.
