Having to slog through the world without fast travel sounds like a deal breaker. Like, exploring is fun, but there's plenty of quests that lead you through the same areas and paths, often right through one of 3 million raider/mutant camps.
I have no idea what you are talking about! I mean, all those really entertaining radiant quests that sends you across the entire fucking map to clear out those ghouls/raiders/super mutants/very loud neighbors that somehow manage to bother some chucklefucks I couldn't less care about. Isn't that just the best depiction of fun??
In other words, I have no idea how removing fast travel or quick save, which I mainly use because I don't trust this game for shit, could get really annoying after hour or two. Nope, not at all.
Skyrim at least had horses, medieval taxis and dragons to carry you around but Fallout really isn't made to be played without fast travel. Unless they also somehow plan to address that problem which I honestly doubt.
Survival seems like it's intended for a concise point-to-point replay of the story. IE, no radiant quests, no unnecessary distractions, nothing but the main quest and some important diversions based on your build's needs.
In that case, lack of fast travel isn't so bad.
Maybe they will make the teleporter reusable to go in and out of the institute?
I may be wrong but air missiles were never developed in the fallout universe, so it had to be bombers.
It was never clarified how exactly the bombs were sent everywhere pretty much all at once in so little time, although the relative inefficiency of using a bomber and not missiles partly explains why things aren't as fucked as they could have been.
you [sp]launch a g2g missile[/sp] in lonesome road
So just started a new character I already have Homemaker and Spring Cleaning are there any other settlement mods that are essential?
Running round the map is now the only way to travel? Time to put on the Sprinters boots, max Agility and Endurance, get the perk that reduces sprinting AP cost by 50% and just get anywhere in a flash.
Would've been good if you could just fast travel between settlements (like how you could catch a carriage between cities in Skyrim)
I recently did a play thru without using fast travel and it wasn't that bad tho

SSEx is really nice mod since it adds bunch of stuff like trees so you can make your settlement look a bit more alive and cozy. Also Alternate Settlements has SOME nice stuff like additional signs and flags but otherwise I wouldn't say AS really gives you that much for how chaotic it makes the Workshop menu to navigate.
Problem with AS is that it makes everything you build look like Gamebanana-worthy HL2 map from like 2005.

No point using SSEx if you already have Homemaker. I think Homemaker has everything SSEx has and more. Also the creator of Homemaker is no longer going to make patches for SSEx so if you use both you will get doubles of A LOT of items.

Ah great, time to replace all those fucking trees and furniture again.
The fact we never see a vault door close worries me that there is no animation for it and that making a player vault with the geck won't be feasible.

Doesn't Vault 81 lock you out if you go on a rampage and then leave?
The acknowledged and even linked to one of the reddit leaks.

I think I made a grave mistake. I downloaded Spring Cleaning and Homemaker and...

It's not even done yet and it's only a part of what I have planned for Sanctuary Hills. Holy fuck, I need help.
I don't want anyone to do New Orleans. What the hell is down there that would make for an interesting Fallout game?
I went there for my honeymoon.
Actually now that I think about it I'm warming up to the idea of a New Orleans Fallout.
Bourbon street would make for a perfect hub like NV's Strip should have been, probably with better bars and prostitutes.
Post Katrina style partially submerged neighborhoods would make for an interesting new kind of environment to navigate, as will the Bayou, complete with mutant gators and Cajun ghoul swamp people.
Also those speedboats with the giant fans on the back? Yeah.
Most of the city outside the French quarter would make for a great devastated urban environment like the Capital Wasteland, but probably with more interesting gangs.
And of course creepy colonial mansion houses.
And just imagine all the colorful Cajun and Creole characters.
Oh shit and voodoo cults!
And a Mardi Gras themed quest line! Make peace between the warring Krewes! Raid creepy warehouses for parts and customize your own badass float! Become the king of the Mardi Gras!
Shit this game needs to be done NOW.
So I get a another settlement and the the game says "Help at the checkpoint"
So I get there and they were fighting this cunt.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/9iIEjV.png[/t]
huh interesting, for odd reasons all my mods except for 4 have been disabled in the game, although NMM says that all of them are installed, and none of them are conflicted with each other, will try to reinstall them later on.
Also do anyone of you know how to increase the FOV?
also starting the game with 1 endurance, agility and trying to be a Stealth Character has proven to me that I might not be as stealthy as I claim to be.

Now if only I could get a Fat Man with that.
Also liking this outfit.
Perhaps, but with slower area respawns you're less likely to get sent to level 1 Corvega Factory again three cunting times in a row.
This is the one thing I'm not looking to about survival. My game already appears to be bugged, because NPCs outside don't seem to be respawning anymore when they used to, and I don't know how to make them start spawning again.
Survival reduced rates would just mean the Commonwealth is as dead as New Vegas mid-game for me.

i've been turning my Sanctuary into a forest reclaimed by nature. it looks really cool.
This new 'no fast travel' thing is going to kill me. My main and favourite character's home is at fucking spectacle island. So I'll have to swim there every time and get absolutely swamped with radiation. :((
here's that vertical shacktown i built at Starlight:

So then don't do that for Survival difficulty?
Heh, I was just thinking about Assaultrons and how damn powerful they are.
I wonder how much more successful House would have been if he had an army of those guarding the Vegas strip instead of Securitrons. Probably would have been able to take the Fort with those four dominator variants if that was a retroactive possibility.

Looks like you'll have to stock up on Vertibird signal grenades then. Or someone will have to mod in boats.
Or mod the settlement size so that you can build a super huge bridge :v:
Or mod the settlement size so that you can build a super huge bridge :v:
That's probably more realistic than getting boats into the game.
This is what my forest Sanctuary looks like (last images i'll be posting for a while):

So wait if survival is going to disable fast travel what the fuck is bethesda going to do with the "Help out settlement X" quests?
There is probably going to be no way to travel back to most far out settlements in time to help defend without the vertibird, so unless they change the way uninterrupted raids are handled it will be nearly impossible to build proper settlements.
