It's not though. Or rather I think it's that control input has poor latency at low fps
There is some sort of correlation, if your FPS is too high above 60 the game will bug out with physics going crazy and stuff
Another thing about no fast travel: Radiation storms.
Companion would always be "We should get out of here fast", so I'm just like, Okay, and Fast Travel out.
Without it, we're going to have to face the full brunt of a storm now.
Unrelated to anything, but one thing that bugs the shit out of me is the "reclamation" radiant quest for the institute.
Why in the almighty fuck would they send a human, let alone anybody/anything to rescue a gen 1 synth? I mean they basically send those things on suicide missions, they may as well just self destruct when captured. Rescuing a Gen 3 would make perfect sense, but my reaction when I first did that quest, blasted my way through raiders, opened the door and saw the Gen 1 tied up with it's hands behind it back... "are.you.here.to.rescue.me..?" :nope:
Even Boston Common?
Boston common's issue is shadows. I turned my shadows down from High to Medium and I went from 36fps in the middle of the city (which is fucking atrocious might I add with an i7 4790k and a GTX 980ti) to like 80 or 90 (but I have it capped at 60).
This is with everything maxed out.

I mean, they do specifically say at the beginning that it was a Gen 1 synth, but yeah the feeling is still the same no matter.
I wish it had variety, like having all models or the possibly of mass captures and them being random models as well.
What does everybody think the best legendary modifiers are for certain weapon categories, and armor are?
For armor, I personally think Powered is pretty damn good, since the AP regeneration speed gets incredibly fast if you stack it.
For unarmed and melee, Furious pretty much beats the rest of the modifiers no contest.
If it's automatic and not a minigun, Kneecapper. Renders 95% of enemies moot with 5 shots.
If it's a Minigun/Gatling Laser or Combat Shotgun, Explosive with Demolition Expert buffs (Also possibly Plasma weapons, since it would speed up the projectiles).
If it's a Double-Barrel Shotgun, Endless.
If it's a Sniper Rifle, Gauss Rifle, Super Sledge, or Power Fist, Instigating.
If it's a Ripper, Furious (or the World Championship 2076 for hilarity).
If it's anything else, Two-Shot.
As for armor, two pieces with acrobat, a martyr piece, a bolstering piece, a duelist piece, and a powered piece along with whatever else is fine.
coming back for my second play through (was gonna wait til geck was out but looks like i'll be waiting til the grave) are there any new tips to improve performance? i get 60 fps indoors and in 80% of areas but i'd like to increase that percentage. i remember that it was impossible to force off god rays completely, is that doable now? and does it improve performance at all?

Wounding on the ripper is pretty nuts.
Wouldn't double shot be better for snipers like the Gauss rifle since it's damage is then permanently doubled where as instigating only doubles the first shot
I guess instigating is better for pure ambush but two shot is basically 1.5x damage because it's 1 modded and 1 unmodded shot
Plasma isn't a bad one for fast weapons like the ripper because it's a flat out damage boost to the weapons burst that can be improved by perks
Plus you have a ripper that turns people to goo... So there's that
-snip-
Wouldn't double shot be better for snipers like the Gauss rifle since it's damage is then permanently doubled where as instigating only doubles the first shot
No, double shot only gives you another shot at base damage. If your gauss rifle does 300 damage with mods but only does 150 without mods, the total damage will be 450 rather than 600.
Eh I guess it is 1.5x damage, I never really did the math completely on it but I never found it all that useful. Instigating on the guass rifle with the rifleman perk is a death sentence for any enemy unlucky enough to get hit by it.
Wouldn't double shot be better for snipers like the Gauss rifle since it's damage is then permanently doubled where as instigating only doubles the first shot
Two-shot only doubles the base damage of the weapon, not the weapon with part boosts. I think Instigating does boost it with boosts, however. Plus, with enough points in various sneak attack and bullet damage boosts, there is probably little that could survive one well-placed shot. Honestly it depends on preferences, Instigating if you're aiming for One-Shot One-Kill, Two-Shot for else.
Dammit, ninja'd.
so somehow if you stay in a very specific spot in between the doors of vault 81 clinic, you can create a wormhole.

Also how much negativity will it cause If I use drugs in front of companions?, sometimes I use it on certain companions and don't see the *Companion dislike this* at the top right corner.
Is the NCR Ranger armor for FO4 buggy as fuck for anyone else? Just moving my camera around causes the trench coat to flicker in and out of existence.

pack some rad-x
although, I hope they implement this for survival mode: if you get shot in while wearing any lead lined armor, you get lead poisoning.

I've been having issues too, if the dialogue camera gets too close I suddenly become a floating head and my right leg loves to phase right through the coat tails when running
Can the NPCs actually use any of this properly? The pathfinding in FO4 is wonky as fuck, especially when it comes to the settlement stuff.
Almost everything I use is vanilla settlement stuff, with the exception of some decorations from OCD and signs from Business Settlements.
So as long as the stairs I put in line up with the floors it looks like the settlers can navigate around the place, interact with the furniture and shops and block any doorway I try to go through.
I still don't understand while travelling salesmen's brahmin get stuck inside my living room all the time.
(And in the game! HAHAHA!)

I think Duelist armor is bugged out. For a while I had two Duelist pieces equipped and the disarmament chance was applied to all weapons instead of just melee weapons. Enemies would start shooting me and then abruptly drop their guns after a few shots
Is the NCR Ranger armor for FO4 buggy as fuck for anyone else? Just moving my camera around causes the trench coat to flicker in and out of existence.
The only issue I've had with it is combat admor clipping through it terribly

That's because it shows up in the left corner.

I'm not saying its a bad thing tbh, It's going to be awesome to actually have to deal with them at all now.

This looks like fun.
Glowing barrels and everything.

i'm crashing to desktop when the deathclaw spawns at concord (or around that time). i'm on the beta patch. not tried reverting back, but have tried disabling all mods
anyone had this happen before? can't find anything googling
did you give the traveling leather coat ballistic weave upgrade or is that a mod?
Just wearing Assault mask, traveling leather, and full heavy metal.

turned out to be the new weapon debris setting causing this, i'm glad i noticed that it was new and thought to turn it off otherwise i would've spent much longer trying to fix this.

you know bullets are made of lead too, right? why wouldn't you get lead poisoning normally in that case?
