[sp]I don't think father would bother putting his mind into a synth body because that would result in a robo father while father dies anyway creating a potential schism when an immortal ruler fills an elected position[/sp]
[sp]And if Nick Valentine's little identity crisis is anything to go by it's not a very good idea to do that kind of transfer[/sp]
Has anyone recreated the gas station from the trailer and the main menu? Shit looks comfy af

Does that Nuka-Cola clock between the power armor and shelves even exist as a model in-game? I don't think I've ever seen one, but now I totally want one in my settlements.
[sp]Learning a scientific field takes years, mastering it takes a lifetime. They can't just be like "okay let's suddenly unlearn everything we know about bioscience and become oncologists instead".
They're scientists, not magicians.[/sp]
That couldn't be any further removed from anything I had said. Where did I say anything to that effect?
[sp] When I called them 'dumb', it's because they are. Despite having great scientific knowledge, they don't seem to understand they're squandering it in the Institute, and even if they weren't, not being able to derive any knowledge from having 1:1 clones of humanity other than "well obviously we need to keep making more 1:1 clones of humanity" is stupid no matter how you put it. [/sp]
[sp] Don't get me wrong, though. I know WHY they're like this. They're like this because the Institute's position in the narrative is to be a super cool science place where the robomen come from, and if the super cool science place worked off logic, well they wouldn't be sitting around making robomen. My core point is that they weren't written well enough. They're an absolute joke. [/sp]
Imagine if that red rocket ended up appearing in a DLC area. Not spruced up like that, but built the same way and with extremely similar background scenery
That would be a neat thing that'd take people at least a few days after release to realize
it's funny ya'll mention it, because i'm actually working on a recreation of that garage using the Red Rocket outside Sanctuary
that's why i posted that pic of the power armor earlier, because i was looking for a way to have the frame show only the shoulder pauldron instead of the full arm, in order to accurately represent the main menu's scene
i'll post some progress once i get the walls done
Never knew that there was mouse lag in my game so I disabled vsync.
No wonder I haven't been able to hit anything. It's like a whole new game now.
The game usually runs fairly well but shadow-casting lights drop my fps by like half
Frustrating
I went back to New Vegas for one second
brought up the pip-boy
and sweet christ
remember how wide this thing was holy hell

Give me your strength Facepunch. I'm so close...
alright so the walls aren't quite done yet but i need a break
set-dressing will be the last thing. dunno how i'm gonna do the minigun with a sheet over it, not to mention the window.

Don't know about the sheet part, but that functional weapon racks mod has a rack for miniguns that's an ammo crate it sits on top of. It's close enough to get the point across.
It was never in the game as far as I know.
Shame, it's not the gas station that I love about that location, it's that flat plains-road that looks so beautiful.
I just realized how hilly FO4 is if you're not in the city.
there's not a lotta plains around here anyways, it's pretty hilly(native of a boston suburb). Bethesda did a really good job of capturing the massachusetts aesthetic.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/MKQM4Cn.jpg[/t]
FUCK YEAH did it legit
Is that gas station anywhere ingame, I haven't found it and it's kind of odd they'd remove it if it was so heavily featured in all the pre-release previews and shit.
We won't know until we have the GECK. I'm gonna assume that they have this in the game, but inaccessible, like how F3 and FNV had their intro scene built within the game.
Is customizing your HUD color a thing of all platforms or something PC exclusive?
I love how sometimes NPCs will realize they stand no chance and will flee instead.
Ran into a bunch of hostile scavengers who attacked me for no reason while I was in power armor. Casually walked right up while being shot at and punched one in the face, and they all started screaming and ran away. Yeah you better run.
please don't let bethesda introduce time travel in a fiction that's already full of all kinds of technology that might as well can be considered magic.

I'd maybe trust Obsidian with some insane one-off time travel thing, like a pre-war development that was never tested or the machine can only work once or something like that, but even then it would strongly depend on who at Obsidian is doing the writing or overseeing it.
But not Bethesda, hoo boy. Not in a million years.
I just realised another boob that the cabbot house quest made.
[sp] So a dude discovers the key to immortality under the pre-war Mojave desert, and Everyone's favourite CEO turned autocratic machine god never finds out and ends up on Gruesome life-support instead?
If i was going to put this shit in fallout, i would drop the aliens bollocks, and make the serum central to the plot of the game. If the most powerful players in post war america come to blows over dams and water purifiers, The cure for death should be a little more sought after, i mean how would one family of twats keep the lid on something like that? [/sp]
Kinda late to the discussion from the other pages but you guys realized you were comparing two unavoidable dumb sidequests from FO4 with "out of place" Wild Wasteland content, right? As in "Wild Wasteland is an optional trait that straight up tells you its going to add some out of place not for the serious content to your game" unlike stuff like cabot and the fridge kid that will always be there in every F4 save regardless, right?

I like Obsidian's writing and still wouldn't trust them with a time travelling plot anyway
Time travelling stories always cause more harm and plotholes than good, specially in open world games. I'd rather not have it at all.

Did someone say garage?

Of course it wouldn't be THAT shocking since most people have more emotional investment in their breakfast than they do Fallout 4's story, but still.
I cared about Fallout 4's story for a while and then I got to the part where they force you to build shit to [sp]get into the institute[/sp] and I really wasn't up to scrounging for copper to make wire, as dealing with the lag was getting old already, so I started a new character and got pissed off by the fact that melee is some bullshit. Apparently enemies can deflect a rocket-powered sledgehammer with a heating coil on the end with their bare damn hands while I'm in power armor.
After that I just gave up and uninstalled. Maybe one day I'll find a way to make the game simultaneously run at a decent, steady rate and also not look like ass.

Zephyr's Power armor mod is back up.
Currently just a lite version though until he can get the Nexus to accept the skins :U
It's weird how people were okay with a DLC where brains in high tech jars would talk to you and say such things as "hand penises" for extended periods of time but then a joke quest about a kid getting stuck in a fridge for a hundred years pops up and people flip their shit.

people hated owb when it came out though
people hated owb when it came out though
I still insist this was because NV came out in the "edgy post-apoc is cool" era, so silly sci-fi stuff like OWB wasn't going to be as well-received.
Once that fad blew over though, people went back and retroactively really liked it.
I don't remember anyone disliking OWB, except for the odd few who got into a fit because the game dared to open with dialogue
oh, and since i probably spend the most time building in this game, here's the classy restaurant i set up at Egret Tours Marina:

we have a cook who barely knows what he's doing because he just got here yesterday. i rationalize that the espresso machine is so shiny in comparison to everything else because you absolutely must keep those things clean if you want to make good coffee.
