im getting this awful bug in fo4 where i can see through a ton of objects, and when i go into most interiors basically all of the walls and floors are totally seethrough too

I get the same thing when I use modpos on objects.
nah dude, i'm not a ttw salesman. just making clear ttw doesn't has the issues as some people like to think, and i can say it with experience as i've played many times trough it.
When your mod has to dedicate a chunk of its FAQ to solving common issues and common game breaking bugs, it means it has issues.
There are threads such as this where people complain about long loading times. There used to be a part of the official documentation that stated TTW took longer to load because it would load two games simultaneously, and since it's doing it via mods it's slower than if it was done using the source code.

i had a similar problem in skyrim, it had to do with running more than one thing of anti-aliasing at the same time (I think via game options and via ENB, or via game options and via video card options, or something of the sort?)
I still think the best way to play Fallout 3 is to play New Vegas.
:smug:
The very nature of what TTW is means it will always have issues. That FAQ is required to guide inexperienced modders and help them fix issues that have been reported to the team countless times.
The bottom line is preference and the sort of system you have. If you can't run Fallout 3 due to it's stability issues on newer hardware and OS's then TTW is pretty much the only way you can play it on PC. But if you can run it A-OK then you don't need to go near TTW unless you want to.

I've found it in a couple places, including the stash that Barton tries to kill you over.

This gave me the thought, does anyone else feel like FO4's gore is toned down, almost? They didn't really improve it too much beyond some enemies staying alive after dismemberment like ghouls or deathclaws, but enemies gib way less and even with bloody mess I've only seen like 2 or 3 torso gibs
It's a little disapointing, it makes the wasteland feel less violent than it should
[editline]5th March 2016[/editline]
I'd love a mod that makes gore have a higher chance of happening, especially torso gibbing
on fo4 being less gory, i'd say fo3 certainly has some more gruesome places with a bit more gore and stuff, but i certainly don't think the gore has been toned down in fo4.
in my playthrough of the game i've seen enough of that good stuff, both when killing enemies and in certain locations, enough to keep me satisfied.
theres more gore in fo4
you just need bloody mess

I stumbled upon an issue like this when I was messing around with executable files around a month ago.
you could try verifying files through Steam, or reinstalling the game.
But the railroad isn't a major actor in the story unless the player goes out of their way to help them out. The only reason the railroad has any connection with the Sole Survivor at first is because of Tinker Tom. You have to purposefully go out of your way and find them, at which point the game makes it ostensibly clear they're at best down on their luck and at worst completely falling apart by making you go through the remains of their previous headquarters. When you're out of there, your first thought about the railroad is likely not "wow, these guys are really powerful", it should be "man, these fuckers are cornered rats."
It's like Wildcard in New Vegas. If you pay attention to what House has to say, it becomes clear that Benny's plan was fucking stupid and he was going to lose right from the start - his goals were stupid, his execution was flawed, and he had a ton of unaccounted variables. Going independent is only a viable option because the courier has more agency than Benny ever had.
Reminder here of how well done New Vegas' wildcard ending was.
Why do your screenshots look like they're covered in Vaseline?

Oh its the goggle overlay from Project Nevada isn't it?

Still looks very blurry.

Still wish the (apparently cut) ending where you'd just say fuck it and leave the mojave was kept in.

I think that would be a funny alternative after you kill Benny and deliver the Chip.
"Well, my shit's done, I'm getting the fuck out of here."

Because you have a job you're supposed to finish. Courier's honor.

My headcanon of the Courier is of a man/woman who will do ANYTHING to get the job done. Even coming back from the dead.
S/he made a promise, dammit.

It should have been an option at three points on the map to just leave the game whenever you want. One at the Mojave Outpost where you return to the NCR, one where you head East into Legion territory, and one up North where you say "Fuck the whole thing" and leave everything behind.
Man the glowing sea is a really cool area
I never explored it with my first character but now that I'm checking it out, it's actually genuinely creepy. The music really helps with that, it makes it feel dead, which kinda made me recognize something about FO4's soundtrack. It sounds too lively and not hostile enough, like RPG music and not wasteland music I guess?
Someone should copy the OP as it is now and save it for the next thread. Preferably someone who'd be willing to update the Fallout 4 mod section, because I really can't be asked :v:
I can provide a new banner though. If anyone wants to set shit up for the next thread, PM me.

The dirt overlays would be great if it was like Metro where you can hit a button to wipe the shit off you mask.
Started building on top of the player characters house, and it looks kinda nice.

Possibly late on this, but I'm in the middle of going through all the Silver Shroud side-quest stuff, I just finished listening to all the little radio stories, and I've come to two possible conclusions about what's going on regarding the Automatron DLC. Either it's a direct reference to the Mechanist vs AntAgonizer from Fallout 3, or much more likely that someone in the commonwealth decided to take up the identity of the main baddie from the Silver Shroud stories, "The Mechanist". In the story he says "Metal is the future of Massachusetts!", and on Bethesdas news page about the DLC, is says that someone has apparently accomplished this:
The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth ...
