So I'm thinking about getting F4 if I get a PS4 or a powerful enough laptop, but I'd love to try out the two last games, but not sure which one should I get
Fallout 3 or New Vegas?
New Vegas is better all around compared to FO3 imo, but I think the common consensus is to get both and play TTW
I think it's just a grammar fault to be fairly honest with you. Probably an intentional one, but still.
Also "fusil de chasse" would be a hunting rifle, and that unique weapon's a combat shotgun.
there's not really a good word for shotgun in french but just fusil sure ain't it
it's definitely a reference to les enfants terribles though, the book and possibly the movie would have been released when the fallout timeline split and it's a hugely famous and inspirational work
it just doesn't make sense to give it that name if not a reference to the book
I kind of hope that Covenant gets a bit of explanation in a DLC or something tacked onto the main game. Like, was it founded by a former Vault 101 resident? Or was the GOAT test always meant to test for synths( [sp]with how Vault 101 was secretly sending out groups for supplies and such, its not out of the question that some members were replaced with synths at some point[/sp] ) ?

It'd be a pretty weird reference though, I don't really see the relation.
You know what mod I want? A mod that makes settlers close god damn doors after they walk god damn through them
Call it "close the god damn door"
So this happened when I quick traveled to Cambridge Police Station.

I must've stumbled onto the Commonwealth's shittiest Thriller group.

Guess I'll play 4 and NV at the same time, if I enjoy both, I'll see about getting 3

Or maybe just have a script on all doors that closes them after x seconds. I know the doors in Vault 81 close by them selves.

Sometimes you WANT a door to stay open though, like if you're searching a large building and use open doors to indicate what rooms you've cleared.
Maybe only the doors in certain loadcells, like cities, settlements, and otherwise occupied areas.

One time when I fast travelled I started hearing beeping before the load screen closed and woke up to 3 super mutant suiciders who promptly peeled off my x-01 along with nearly all my health.
Man, who else got completely ruined several times when they showed up at that police station?
I was still a really low level because I'd just been making a beeline for diamond city. Decided to take a detour because I heard a lot of gunfire, and suddenly HOLY SHIT torn apart in seconds by like ten ferals.
On my survival run before I decided to wear power armour I had ruin moments like that practically everywhere
I wasn't running a particularly durable build
endurance 1 is the only way to play
I think I started the game with like... 2 END? I always do high CHR/INT runs with the rest mixed on my first playthrough, and this time I went low STR/END to make LCK higher.
Low END build on very hard difficulty... Yeah I had a pretty bad time of it until I found a T-51. Thankfully that carried me until I could get better body armor.

I've always felt ferals were really weak. I guess my builds are just a good counter to them.
[editline]18th January 2016[/editline]
like I'd take a dozen ferals over 3 raiders any day
[editline]18th January 2016[/editline]
it just occured to me that les fusil terribles could be referencing the les enfants terribles program from metal gear, which is a game about nuclear disarmament, rather than the book, which is basically romeo and juliet with guns and incest
Fallout 4's ferals are a beginner's trap for sure. They're WAY faster than in previous games, and they'll actually mob you from all sides this time rather than running up in single file.
Once you figure out you can blow their legs clean off they're not much of a threat anymore though.

"That's the old marker to West Roxbury. We don't fast travel there anymore."

One time while I was fast traveling to med-tech research center I appeared underneath a vertibird that proceeded to crash into me and explode...fuck the brotherhood's shitty pilots, why is that AI so shitty that they let literally every aircraft crash every time
Yeah. I haven't had a single instance where I've not seen a random vertibird explode.

Not the police station but when I was low level and exploring Lexington I kept getting killed by the same raider with a fat man whenever I climbed too many apartment floors

grab the GOTY edition for F3 and the ultimate edition of NV and play both using TTW. they're always dirty cheap on Steam and any toaster can run them. fallout 3 exploration is fun when you have NV mechanics and survival and when you get tired of just wandering around you can always go to the mojave and do some quests. both games combined into one have a shitton of content, more than enough to keep you busy till you can play F4

It's Extended weapon mods, but from the screenshots it looks like it's still held as a normal revolver, so it's more of an awkward visual change at the moment than a proper revolver rifle.
We just need a simple animation change for the .44 to fix everything.
It'd be a pretty weird reference though, I don't really see the relation.
It's just a way of having the Terrible Shotgun in FO4 without having the Terrible Shotgun in FO4.
Of course, that still leaves why it's called the Terrible Shotgun in FO3 up for debate.

Idk why we got saddled with the shitty pipe revolver in the first place, its not very good because it takes like lvl 3 gunsmith to upgrade it and combat rifles are just much easier to pickup and can be fairly maxed out with 3 gunsmithing also and aren't that weak, though maybe because this time I played on a higher setting and ghouls suddenly became bullet sponges even with my massive limb and silence damage bonuses
I do sort of like the revolving rifle but its damage is just doesn't scale well like the other guns. Anyway I am still holding out for a 5.56 that gun pistol or something bigger, there aren't the big pistols in this game like there were in previous ones

This reminds me of that one gun from metro. Would be awesome if they got ported and could be used with the mod system.

I dunno about you, but I like this.
Like, if the Laser RCW was in the game, I'd want it to look like this.
Fuck I just realized the laser RCW isn't in this game
replaced by the automatic mod for the laser rifle no doubt
