Sorry if this was already posted. I thought this guy summed up my thoughts pretty well He waffles on a bit though, jeez
This was exactly the reason why I started making my big skyrim perk & skill overhaul mod a while back. I was so excited for skyrim perk trees and skill system before that game came out, because the potential of it was pretty great. But we just ended up getting trees full of shit like "Do 20% more damage" and "Oh BTW you can now craft elven armor". Had to stop developing the mod when the scope got too big for the script engine to handle sadly. Plus real life catching up (needing to graduate college).
There are squirrel bits everywhere, but no squirrels. Not in DC, not in New Vegas, and not in the Commonwealth. Did squirrels survive the Great War only to be hunted to extinction?
What about iguanas? They sure as hell aren't native to the north east.

Why do you find Brahmin meat in coolers that probably haven't been opened since before the Great War?
Why do you find Brahmin meat in coolers that probably haven't been opened since before the Great War?
This is a problem only with fo3 and 4, in new vegas you can find frozen pre-war steak in those type of coolers. This also happen with military weapons crate that they havent probably been opened by anyone, yet you find pipe-made weapons? really? and no other weapons use that type of ammunition except pipe weapons? Probably its because all coolers and crates have random loot but, jesus fuck bethesda
Why do you find Brahmin meat in coolers that probably haven't been opened since before the Great War?
Gameplay-related randomized loot. Containers have random loot lists and not predefined items for the most part.

That kind of stuff annoys me particularly because it could be solved (I think) fairly easily; just give items a pre-war or post-war flag and set randomized spawn containers to have a boolean that checks for the flags or something. (I don't know, I can barely remember my programming class, but it sounds simple). Pre-war safes, footlockers, loot stashes, etc. wouldn't contain post-war flagged items like brahmin meat or pipe weapons or Jet, but post-war flagged containers could contain pre-war flagged items.
Since most loot is done with a qausi-random prefab, easiest approach would have been to just have different leveled loot prefabs inside different types of locations. Like a "vault loot" for high quality pre-war weapons, medical supplies, and money, or a lower quality pre war loot prefab for shit you find underwater or in buried safes. Stuff outside or in occupied spaces could contain salvaged guns and post-war chems/caps, etc. Actually would have been really easy to do it if they just planned for it, but they probably didn't care very much.

I also got Danse out of his power armor. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/353899007313720844/AB051CBE8B1A19BAE491B75E28BFB1E1AAC24552/[/t]
Gameplay-wise why would you want Danse out of his armor? He and all power armor users are coded to be tanks and draw most of the aggro, which is super useful in most situations. He's put himself between me and minigun fire more times than I can count.

Pre-war untouched areas should be a high risk-reward kind of thing and not be filled with shitty pipe weapons. [sp]* As long as it can be done without having to manually alter every single container in the world to match them to post/pre war conditions [/sp]

One thing I found weird about containers is that most tool boxes are locked and need to be lock-picked.What the hell is so valuable about the tools inside? they are mostly just duct tape and wrenchs.
(Sturges Spoilers) [t]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/7/77/Fallout4_Live_and_Love_002.png/revision/latest?cb=20151111232110[/t] [sp]So y'know how Sturges is never revealed to be but is scripted to be a synth? I always thought it was interesting how he looks just like the guy on the cover of the 'Beware the Man-Handler!' issue of Live & Love. Well, what if the Institute built him to resemble that guy? Turning to a bit of pre-war media for inspiration for their latest batch of Gen 3s?[/sp]

Just got FO4 for the Xbone I got for Christmas (don't laugh I don't have a PC) Oh my god It's literally running at a constant 10FPS It's borderline unplayable
Just got FO4 for the Xbone I got for Christmas (don't laugh I don't have a PC) Oh my god It's literally running at a constant 10FPS It's borderline unplayable
I've had pretty much no issues whatsoever on Bone with framerate, aside from in Boston itself, obviously.
I hate how getting rank 3 of intimidation actually makes it worse. instead of being able to quickly turn enemies on each other in the middle of a fire fight you now have to fiddle around with the dumb "GO HERE" companion command interface each time a bad guy surrenders.
I've had pretty much no issues whatsoever on Bone with framerate, aside from in Boston itself, obviously.
Corvega factory?
Why do you find Brahmin meat in coolers that probably haven't been opened since before the Great War?
Because.. random item spawn? When I first ventured into DC Radio, I checked inside Travis' locker and saw a military outfit. I was like "alright way to go" and I left. Next time I came there later, he no longer had that military outfit in there. My immersion ruined.

He's still got his suit too, just now I can modify the pieces and repair like they were mine so he ISN'T a tank anymore. Makes traveling with him better in my opinion.
I've had pretty much no issues whatsoever on Bone with framerate, aside from in Boston itself, obviously.
I'm in the Brotherhood of Steel whirlybird or whatever it's called and I genuinely get about 5 FPS from turning around in place
I wouldn't really call it random, since it's in the same place everytime you play the game.
Yea, but i mean the first time you encounter it. You're just going about, mind your own business, looking for shit to scrap to make whatever. The ground start to shake and then that loud ass "SSSWWWWAAAAAAANNNNN" and this huge mother fucker pops out of the water like Jaws just grew arms and legs and found out you slept with his sister.
