IDK about you guys but I feel like I've been having a lot of CTD problems ever since Update 1.3 released.
At first I thought it was my mods, but after disabling most, and another time all of it, starting a new character and going to one of the Sanctuary homes just CTD'd me.
5 minutes later I'd go back to the same home I CTD'd at and I wouldn't crash. I could walk through ruins of Concord, turn to see a hill and as soon as the LOD loaded I'd CTD.
Its weird and frustrating at the same time, cause I don't know whats causing it. My computer handles the game just fine and doesn't have heat problems, so I can only guess it has something to do with the new update.
Honestly, i have the opposite, before the patch i used to CTD a lot, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 10 and sometimes after 2 hours, but having random freezes before.
Now, i (may) have short freezes after 1 hour, but never CTD.
AMD vcard and cpu, thats explain having problems before, what about you?
Entire game is fucked apparently.

Need something like this
Why does the child look like Joffery a bit?
Also are there any mods that fix the Settlement system in anyway that isn't about adding new building items?
the brotherhood are basically hitler and the blatant "evil" faction in this but i'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda want to see them become the canon victor here
If only because I want to see a midwestern fallout game where a bloody conflict breaks out as a result of the NCR pushes east and the brotherhood's pushes back west colliding. Airship fleets vs tank battalions, it'd be great.
idk if I'd call the brotherhood the evil faction, just the misguided as hell faction. there aren't really any evil factions in fallout 4. institution comes closest but considering most of their evil doings are really just a bureaucracy issue they aren't that bad. on the d&d scale I'd place the institute in lawful evil, while brotherhood goes in either chaotic good or lawful evil depending on how I'm feeling about them at any given second.

the railroad is probably neutral good and the minutemen would have to be chaotic lame
I became really racist once I joined the brotherhood :v: I exiled all my ghoul settlers to the slog. Just playing the part I guess.
The Brotherhood want to see Nick Valentine destroyed. I'd like to see them try.
I like the Brotherhood's nifty battle-sweaters.
Ok I finished getting some mods and now I'm having a CTD issue.
I really suck at figuring out which mods are doing it, but I'm gonna assume it's the one that makes it so I can place settlement buildings anywhere I want.

Disregard the above statement, I went to the mod page and found a link to a hotfix. Problem solved.

the contrary. i had many mods and i'd never crash unless there was a blatantly broken/conflicting mod of some sort, easily fixable cause you can pinpoint what it was. with this update i've never had to go through disabling stuff and even starting new characters and still consistently crash. it appears people on the steam and the nexus forums have CTD problems ever since too, but they could easily be different problems from what I have.
Fallout 4 is best when you keep things nice and simple. Unfortunately, the game does its darnest to throw as much shit a you as possible. Like you walk into the Railroad HQ/Sactuary/the Prydwyn/listen to Radio Freedom and you get 6 quests pointing you all over th gaff, there's "legendary" equipment in nearly every encounter, there's tons of perks with several tiers, lots of resources to find and organise to build up settlements and mod weapons and armour, and it's all thrown at you as often as possible. I find the best way to experience the game is to keep things simple. Have one armour set (and one casual outfit if you're a roleplay), at most 3 weapons + grenades, and only focus on one quest and one project at a time. Otherwise it's just a clusterfuck and you're likely to get stressed out trying to juggle everything and have your perks spread out too thin.
I just had an idea for another mod I want to see get made when GECK comes out.
A major overhaul of the settlement/Minutemen system.

not exactly stunningly original
pretty sure just about everyone wants something like that

I want to build settlements in locations that make sense.
Why would you build shacks made of porous wood and rusty metal in the middle of nowhere. Why not take over the Corvega factory, the breweries or the mass fusion tower ? All these places are well preserved and were designed to pruduce stuff. Just bring people in, restore the machines in working conditions and you could have sick bases.

because they couldn't figure out how to have the raider AI move between loading screens without becoming completely trivial
Something like Dust could be fun. Turn the whole wasteland into The Glow and having to try and survive.
That for sure will happen, skyrim has ineed which is pretty much that
Spoliers for Paladin Danses quest, someone did a neat little video with that whole "becoming the Elder" cut content.

I hope someone re-adds it as an option.
I'm glad that ending didn't make it in. it doesn't sound like you're able to change much at all, and you'd still be relaying orders to another Preston who would actually command the troops while you went and made reactor coolant and procured technical documents.
I'm also quite confident that the 'duel' between you and Maxson would have been just like bar fights in Skyrim, just lazily whacking away at each other until his health bar finally creeps too low.
the minutemen would have to be chaotic lame
I need you to make a promise to me.
Don't say that ever again.
How do they even manage to make something work as bad as this? I remember there being a mod that made this work for skyrim. Shouldn't be so hard to make it work in FO4 either then..
Someone applied a rocking motion to certain objects in the GECK and not to others. Lack of attention and testing, it happens in an open world game like this.
I'd say that's a bug :v:
God, I love Hancock.
No excuse. It looks really bad. And IMO they should know very well how to not fuck up like this by now.
If you can create an open game world without making one small mistake I encourage you to apply to Bethesda
Can't help but spoiling myself by watching Hancock scenes, i'm glad likeable ghouls are still a thing. Got too used with Raul in NV.

It is, I usually notice things like that myself in games and I am certain that didn't happen in my game.
Is that Homemaker mod easy to install without the GECK? Does it clash with anything? Does it still work with the latest update? I just got to spectacle island and I want it to be my little get-away spot but the vanilla building options don't feel solid or homey enough for that.

It's a .esm mod, so it works really well. Works with the latest update with no hiccups.
The only plot element we need a DLC for closure on is the Mysterious Goggle'd Man of Many Backgrounds
