I still prefer the yellow tint, although the texture changes are nice.
removing the orange in new vegas is like removing the green in fallout 3
it makes the game much better
But I actually liked the green tint in Fallout 3, it made the world feel sickly and desolate. Fellout and other mods that remove the green filter make the game look like a fucking mess with no visual consistency.

sometimes visual consistency isn't worth making your game look like puke green shit

around highly irradiated areas, sure. that's about it. considering it's 200 years after the bombs fell, skies should basically be normal. hell, weren't they normal in fallout 1 & 2?

Having a single-colour tone the whole way through is a really lazy way to do visual consistency, to be honest.
And for me, it also went too far in making the game look like it took place 5 years after a radioactive blast rather than 200.
I wonder if it would be possible to redo Fallout NV and 3 in the F4 "engine". Is there a terrain sculptor or something? How does one make an "Outside".

First, you make an "Inside."
Then, you make a thing that goes around it.

It showed even in the music. I listened to fallout 3's theme again and i noticed it sounded much more dreary and univiting than 4's theme.
Alright so here was the situation:
I got this mod because Fallout 4 is really boring and easy late-game so naturally I turned all the settings in it to Ultra, as such I run into this BIG group of Gunners. There was like 12 of them, so as I'm getting my ass kicked I notice a behemoth over yonder, and to myself I think, "well, if I wasn't fucked before I sure am now", but then I remember the Wasteland Whisperer perk.
[IMG_thumb]http://41.media.tumblr.com/8da35b4855e7b7d62e510b3f24f49387/tumblr_o2kqv2O0qD1raj203o1_1280.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
and as luck would have it, I actually managed to subdue it into fighting with me.
And as soon as I pulled it off, this song came on (I have a bunch of custom "tried-to-be-lore-friendly-as-possible music btw) and together he and I seriously fucked some Gunners.
This was probably the single most badass moment I've ever experienced in the game and I doubt anything will ever top it. This behemoth is my lord, my savior, and my best friend.
Goodbye friend, you will be missed ;~;7
So if people eventually start making a two-player co-op mod like the ones in progress for Skyrim and FNV, it'd be pretty easy to figure out who the second player would be.
Would probably require some pretty big changes to the intro, though.
Pshh, just [sp] add a bit where you grab a stimpack and they're just fine[/sp]

This reminds me of an encounter I had near the bridge where [sp]Liberty prime grabs the behemoth by the head[/sp]
The bridge behemoth was far away where he usually is, and a second one was in an alley thing. I managed to intimidate one and got to watch a neat behemoth fight.

Well, fallout 1 and 2 took place in a desert area that was barely populated before the war anyway, so I guess there wouldn't be very many nukes hitting them.
Bethesda could have just gone with saying that FO nukes were salt nukes that were designed to permanently change the landscape into a radioactive waste, and then justify the PC in FO3 not taking constant radiation damage due to *spoilers* being born from people who were already used to the outside radiation.
But I'm glad it's just a stylization from FO3, and that FO4 didn't have that shit. Although, I question why the fuck Obsidian decided to keep it for most areas in FONV.

DC got hit a lot harder than anywhere in the west coast.
The yellow tone of New Vegas wasn't so much to simulate radiation as just to simulate the dust and suffocating temperatures of the Mojave.
[editline]16th February 2016[/editline]
Even Fallout 4 has visual consistency despite being a lot more colorful. It makes much better use of its color palette and does keep the green/yellow tones to actively irradiated areas, but it still does it.
If a mod came for Fallout 4 that removed all of it and made the skies permanently bright blue it'd lose a lot of its charm.
I feel a problem with most of the mods that remove those filters for 3 and NV is that they don't offer much in exchange, you just get more saturated colors, a stupidly bright blue sky and whatever other color scheme the modder liked at the time, with no consistency.

Fallout 4's music seems to be more oriented towards nostalgia and despair than desolation and dread.

You know the strange part is they sculpted so much terrain outside the map, you could probably stick all of NV outside the map bounds
Personally just installing one of the weather mods with a mod that removes the yellow tint looks pretty good, you get the clear skies followed by dust storms that block out everything, it made the game somewhat more dynamic, which they managed to achieve with fallout 4 and its weather systems
I can't fucking wait for a NV remake in FO4's engine in the same style as Skywind or Morroblivion.
Imagine that game's story and RPG mechanics and shit with FO4's shooting. Hell, it'd also make Dead Money's gameplay a whole lot more exciting with the melee combat.
I think i might have a problem

Is the problem your impending melon shortage? There's no way you can support a settlement with so few melons.
The balance in this game is weird. I killed a Deathclaw with less bullets than it's taking me to kill this helmetless power-armored raider.

I never thought you could find Legendary Sentry Bots, oh my god i got stuck in a main quest because of it, are there any tips to avoid most of its fire?

Put a companion in power armor to body block it for you.
Also, run very fast.
And more important, that this is only the beginning. We have plans for more. More than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016.
Given the expanded DLC plan, the price of the season pass will increase from the current $29.99 to $49.99 USD (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) on March 1, 2016. However, if you already purchased the season pass for $29.99, nothing changes - you still get everything at no additional cost— the full $60 offering of add-on content for the original price of $29.99. In addition, if you didn’t buy the season pass yet, there is still time: anyone who buys the Season Pass for $29.99 before March 1st will get all $60 worth of content. This is our way of saying thanks to all our loyal fans who have believed in us and supported us over the years.
Interesting that they're planning on doing so many DLCs, including more little ones like Hearthfire.
edit: also I love that they put the book cover artists to work for the DLC covers, it's a nice touch
edit again:

HOW DID I MISS THAT
I guess its time to begin gun modification production in full force with that news drop.
Nice art for the dlc I'll say.
far harbor sounds fucking awesome, a £20 DLC is going to be amazing
just bought my season pass for £17.99, going to be well worth it
Those are some steep prices, but if they go down over time I'd definitely be interested.
by 'Mechanist' do they mean that superhero weirdo guy from fo3
cause I don't exactly have fond memories of that character or that quest involved.
