Nothing like nuclear fallout to bring all us Mainers together.
Maine homies yo. I knew it'd be Maine because of the play on words of Bar Harbor.
Since it's the "largest landmass we've ever created for an addon," maybe we get the entirety of/a large portion of Mount Desert Island to explore. That'd be amazing, there's such variety in the environment there even without the twist Fallout would definitely put on it.
I'm interested to see the size of the new area relative to Commonwealth, and maybe even other Fallout DLC locations in the past.

I'm from southern maine but anything set in maine gets me hyped.
Not sure if they deserve praise for this one really, it's a backhanded cash grab they've sneaked in among the hype.
Hey I'm not praising them for it, it's sneaky for sure, but it's a smart idea to give themselves a money boost, you gotta admit.
I hope they each add some unique items for settlements. I want to decorate my fighting pits with whale bones and beefy sentry bots with lightning miniguns manning the defenses.
I love that they are adding new weapons, the game desperately needed new guns because I felt the weapons modding wasn't fleshed out enough to be super diverse. So many pipe weapons.
Maine huh... you know who's favorite its too? Stephen king the horror writer. Wonder if there will be any throwbacks to his books in there. Unless its a clown spider fuck that.
I love that they are adding new weapons, the game desperately needed new guns because I felt the weapons modding wasn't fleshed out enough to be super diverse. I mean yea they get the short combat rifles but i am talking about auto-shotguns and proper combat rifles with mods. To boost their strenght a bit.
I was really wanting Far Harbor to be a Lovecraft themed expansion. Think Bethesda still has one planned?
On the beta signup sheet where it says "Steam Account Name" Does it mean the name I use to sign in with, or the name from my steamID?
On the beta signup sheet where it says "Steam Account Name" Does it mean the name I use to sign in with, or the name from my steamID?
i'm also wondering this
I was really wanting Far Harbor to be a Lovecraft themed expansion. Think Bethesda still has one planned?
when did they say it wasn't?
On the beta signup sheet where it says "Steam Account Name" Does it mean the name I use to sign in with, or the name from my steamID?
Mine are the same but i reckon it's more likely custom URL, since I don't think Beth has access to the Steam database at a low enough level to use usernames
On the beta signup sheet where it says "Steam Account Name" Does it mean the name I use to sign in with, or the name from my steamID?
Probably the name you sign in with/originally registered with.
when did they say it wasn't?
Well, they didn't allude to anything of the sort in the DLC's description, which you'd think they would have. I dunno, I don't see why they wouldn't say anything unless the DLC had a major twist in that direction that they wanted to keep secret.
i'm sure it'll have more lovecraftian bits. the base game has some, and it wasn't 'announced' either.
I just hope they add some more insight to the children of atom than just one well spoken preacher and a horde of generic followers.
This first wave of DLC looks pretty good so far, I hope they can live up to the quality of the cover art. "Wasteland Workshop" had me fooled for a announcement of steam workshop for mods, I don't understand why they chose that name for a minor addon that allows you to capture creatures.
I always found the dlc the best part of beth games anyways :v: though the base game should be as good as their dlc :\
I just hope they add some more insight to the children of atom than just one well spoken preacher and a horde of generic followers.
At this point, the only mysterious thing about the Children of Atom is their apparent immunity to radiation. But their core beliefs, and why they are they way they are now, it's not a huge mystery if you listened to the primary named practitioners in Fallout 3, and a few mentions in Fallout 4. It'd be amusing if their immunity was just mind over matter, or they're all dying horribly slow deaths, but too fanatical to admit it.
On the beta signup sheet where it says "Steam Account Name" Does it mean the name I use to sign in with, or the name from my steamID?
Probably the name you used to sign up for Steam, the one you see at the top right of the Steam interface.

As flawed as Bethesda's games tend to be, they do generally have a knack for detail. I adore the little conversations mook npcs can have with each other when you're skulking around a dungeon.
Its sad that the DLCs are probably better than their base games. However, they don't seem interesting like the ones from 3 and NV (i know is just the beginning, so ill still be mind open) Far Harbor is probably going to be Point Lookout 2.0 but with synths and Children of the- .... Jesus fuck, why they are here? they better be friendly (at first) towards the PC, have the ability of help to their "cause" and know more of their expansion, i cant take more of those dumbfucks against them in 999 boring gunfires. Its time to stop.
when they say 'local townspeople' I just hope they don't mean shirtless hillbillies who can shotgun blast you from a mile away
I can never forget the first time i saw a fat shirtless fuck, shoot him a few times in the face with lincoln's repeater, then die to unblockable bonus damage from his axe. Same thing happened with the skinny ones with the shotguns, i wasnt aware they had anti-power armor buckshot.
I really hope that the background super-mech appears in the mechanist dlc. [sp]Liberty prime vs mystery-mech please[/sp]
the best part of point lookout's guaranteed 30 damage thing was that some hillbillies could very rarely spawn with fucking BB guns nothing quite like getting cunted to death like that radroach from so long ago
I really hope that the background super-mech appears in the mechanist dlc. [sp]Liberty prime vs mystery-mech please[/sp]
I think that's the sentry bot in the screenshot. Don't quote me on that, though.
Those are some steep prices, but if they go down over time I'd definitely be interested.
Have you seen Skyrim they won't go down. [editline]16th February 2016[/editline]
I always found the dlc the best part of beth games anyways :v: though the base game should be as good as their dlc :\
It depends. The Elder Scrolls DLC were pretty good, but the only FO3 DLC I bought made me want to die and I never finished it.
