After looking over the front ring sights for the Combat Rifle/Shotgun, it really feels like they were last minute additions.
There's no recipes that allow you to craft the glow versions of the sights, but taking a regular version of the front ring sight off of a weapon allows you to put the glow version on. This is caused by there not being a regular version of the misc mod item, so taking the regular sight off gives you the item that's associated with the glow version (which is how the game determines if you need to craft a mod or take it from an inventory). The order of the words in the editor IDs is a complete mess too. Some of them have all three/four words (which should be in the order "SightsIronImproved" and Glow should be on the end for the glowing ones), but in the wrong order, and some of them are missing some of the words entirely.
The stats for the glow versions are a mess too. They should be a combination of the glow sight stats and the front ring sight stats, but they're either the exact same as the front ring sight stats, or they're somewhere in between the two.
It really seems like nobody tested that the front ring sights work properly, and that nobody tidied up the editor IDs.

except in new vegas, that game actually made me give a fuck about the companions.

All this talk about Maine and seeing people go "oh boy Maine" made me realize that since Oklahoma is right in the middle of the East and West coast neither Bethesda nor Obsidian are going to do anything with it most likely.
Assuming they stick with the Bethesda-on-the-East-Coast-while-original-Fallout-creators-on-the-West-Coast thing I hope they stick with.

So, might be a dumb question but, have you thought to get in contact with the creator of the base mod? See what they think?
Back in New Vegas' modding heyday there were a LOT of cases of "Yo dude I made part of your mod better." "Oh, sweet, I'll include it and credit you."
-snip-
With regards to Automatron, I hope that "customizable" means it can be something other than humanoid. Because I want a freakin' cat companion that isn't just a model swap of Dogmeat, damnit!

I changed one thing in my AMD settings and now this happens. Every time I load the game, something doesn't show up. Nora is headless, Piper is bald. Nick doesn't have a body, Ghouls are invisible. The list goes on. There's also meshes stretching across the world. I just wanted to make my game run smoother...
Now I can't get it not to fuck up. Nothing I do fixes this.

exactly which settings did you change?
exactly which settings did you change?
Well I changed Crossfire Mode to Optimize 1x1, turned Frame Rate Target Control to 60, and Tessellation Mode to 8x. I didn't touch the other settings. I had previously changed them on an older version when this was Still Catalyst Control Center. I don't know what the original settings are now. I tried to reset the settings, but that didn't work at all.

Fuck it, I don't care. I'm just glad this is working now.
That new DLC doesn't look great at all. The only one that sounds like it could be promising is the one that's an actual expansion, and since we're already $40 through the $60 worth of DLC and it's priced at $25, it sounds like it's the only one we're getting.
Guess it's pointless to hope for something as good as what NV delivered.

wow
none of its even out lol
give it a chance to at least get to its beta testing stages or its release before degrading it
besides, its wayy too early to see what the DLC's offer besides what they told us in the blogpost.
there could easily be more content than gunners arsenal and couriers stash put together.
we also don't know what their conjuring up next for big expansions. if we're going to Maine, who knows what state we're going to next.

Well my problem is that the first two listed only augment the base game and don't really add new lands to explore, a sizable narrative if any, and seem to be focused on pretty narrow expansions to the sandbox element of the game that I know a lot of people don't really care too much for over the actual core gameplay. If you don't want to play pokemon with deathclaws, what is there for you? The NV expansions were all new tiny worlds teeming with content that all felt quite different from the base game and really reinvigorated the game in general.
They also launched for $10.
These complaints are null and void for now if what they actually meant was 'what we announced here plus a futher $60 worth of content'. I would be fine with 2-3 real expansions plus more sandbox stuff as smaller addons.

That's two addons for a small price plus one larger addon for a higher price, for a total of 40 bucks - the new season pass pricing is at 50, and Season Passes typically come at a 10 or 20 dollar discount compared to each piece of DLC bought individually, so there will be more content after that.

Right, I was discussing a situation in which there were 2-3 addons with a comparable amount of new content to the $25 "Far Harbor" alongside the cheaper addons that only add to the sandbox element of the game like "Automatron" and "Wasteland Workshop". Since they've said there will be around $60 worth of DLC, and the three announced DLCs come in at $40 total, that leaves another $20 worth of wiggle room. One can infer that either that $20 is one big, slightly smaller expansion than "Far Harbor", or it's multiple smaller expansions that exclude the possibility of a similarly sized larger expansion.
Or, I've misunderstood and it's the $40 worth of announced DLC plus an additional unannounced $60 worth of DLC which could contain another full sized expansion or two. This seems unlikely considering that the season pass under the new price would then present a 50% discount.
Another possibility is that there could be a 2017 season separate from the current season pass.

Well, settlements and the features that come with it have attracted a huge amount of people. Hell, with the lack of updates until now modding has been dependant on settlement mods.
Whether or not the first expansion in Maine can appeal to your standards of how well it "reinvigorates" the game can't be seen yet.
There's still plenty of room for the rest of the expansions they plan to release, which gives them plenty of time to improve on what problems the player base has with their core game.
Skyrim had two major DLCs and a secondary DLC just designed to add non-quest content.
The problem with making so many story-driven DLCs adding new worlds is that the added worlds and stories are rarely anything to write home about. If you look at New Vegas the DLC was rather divisive because a lot of people just flat out did not like most of the new added areas. Expansions like Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road were liked for the new weapons and armor, not so much for the rather uninteresting areas they came with.
Same deal with Fallout 3. Nobody gave half a shit about Operation Anchorage and the new content (alternate way to get PA training, the gauss rifle, the winterized T51 armor, etc) were what people played it for.
Honestly I only ever got DLC's for Bethesda games because I knew mods would need them down the road.

Not true, Zion and Graham are the best things of Honest Hearts, and i know i'm not alone on this one. Zion is beautiful and definitely a nice change from the scenery of the Mojave. Few people liked it just because "oh cool new crafting recipes". The Divide is also a very remarkable place visually speaking.
Nobody gave a shit about Anchorage because the gameplay was garbage, the entire experience was on rails, the places were uninteresting as uninteresting can be and the "characters" and dialogue barely existed unlike Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road (for better of for worse in LR case). They are hardly the same thing.
