but valve won't let you put it ingame, shame really it looks nice but please use other games for idea and not straight out copies.
Mate, sorry to be the one that has to say it, but you cant make items completely based on one from another game, that is the barbarian kings hammer from god of war 2.
It's true, i made it based on that picture.
But as i said i never intended to finish it anyway, just training my 3D skills as i am completely bad on having ideas for items :v:
So I make a low poly model, then port it over to zbrush and do stuff right?
We finished a helmet for Bristleback :D
Probably we will make a set, so I need your opinions:

It looks so weird, just like his head got mutated or something.
But it's really good !
Whew, finished the high poly for this set. I decided not to go with the previous head idea, I'll make that later separate from this. I don't want to compromise a whole set with one weird item out of five.
So I make a low poly model, then port it over to zbrush and do stuff right?
For the most part, yes.
You need to make a "base mesh" that is made of ONLY QUADS (Polygons with 4 sides; no tris or n-gons) and then you can bring that in to Zbrush or Mudbox to sculpt it. After you're done sculpting, you're going to want to make a low-poly mesh based off of the high-poly mesh. (You could tweaking the basemesh, but it's a pain in the butt.) There was a good program that you will allow you to make a low-poly directly on top of the high-poly, but the trial version didn't allow you to save the model (EDIT: It's called Topogun). But, you want to then bake the high-poly sculpt onto your low-poly, and the closer the geometry is, the better the bake you get. (EDIT: It's called xNormal)
Anyways, if anybody has a good technique on how to make a low-poly from a high-poly, it would be cool to get suggestions.
Could someone tell me how you apply a texture in zbrush? As I'm sculpting I would like to sculpt over the character's model with the base texture on the model(helps with sculpting around hairlines and such). I've seen lots of screenshots in this thread of people using the character texture in zbrush but I haven't figured out how to apply it myself.
I seem to be importing the base texture just fine but once it is imported I have no idea how to get it onto the subtool itself.

Go down the tools menu and look for the "Texture" sub palette. Your texture has to be a PSD for some arbitrary dumb reason. After you import it just hit "texture on" and it should appear if the model has UVs.
You can also select a specific material meant for displaying a texture and hit the "fill mat" button to get it to stay applied to the subtool. That way you can continue switching materials on the other subtools and that one will stay the same. This is most useful for sculpting items on top of the existing dota models like in my screenshot above.

New Storm Catcher now uploaded.
Where can I find the guidelines for making a HUD?

nvm, it was at the bottom of the workshop page
A Red Fox mount for Batrider

The pyromaniac animal rider
While the model itself is fine, it is weird seeing a fox fly. And I am also not a fan of the non-bat mount (he is Batrider afterall)
Look at the link, it's Vlad being rude again.

Vlad has a point
Although I don't agree with him on the chameleon. It is a really nice mount, but it is still quite unfitting. But since it is half bat it isn't as big of an issue.
He has a point but he just comes off sounding like a dick IMO.

I actually like the chameleon, because it sorta fits? It's not the most fitting, but it looks really cool and has a bit of lore to support it. But that's as far form a bat that I want his mounts to go.
Someone else suggested that the floor of the jungle must always be on fucking fire so everything has evolved to fly, and as cool as this is, why are they all regular animals that somehow fly? Can't we get some new creature that flies and is a bit more similar to a bat, rather than mutating regular forest creatures?
I gave valid points to why I think the model isn't too great, he said my criticism wasn't real :/
Makes me think of DeviantArt, you have no rights to criticize there unless you are Picasso or something.
Personally, I find it's best to give constructive criticism on here/polycount rather than on the workshop page itself.
Negative opinions about anything you've worked hard on are already hard enough to take, having it also affect your positive/negative votes ratio on the workshop is likely to make tempers flare and reflexively dismiss the criticism as just "haters."
To anyone who played the game Evil Genius, do you suppose there might be potential for an Announcer Pack that sounds like/is styled like the Radio Announcer from the Siberia region?

Looks good, but it's another cute courier model. I'm not criticizing it for being cute, it's looks nice and all, I'm just personally sick of cute couriers.
We need more like stumpy; he's kinda cute, but not in a fluffy adorable way, more of a twisted monstrosity way.

I agree with you. We need more "cool" and stylish couriers rather than cute ones. Wait to see the flying version, I'm sure you will like it more :D

Anything that comes out of his mouth is dickish. He can't help it.

I'd rather see a minion of Maelrawn the Tentacular (Tidehunter's god) or something along those lines

Decided to re-texture an old project, ended up making a new weapon for it as well. I think it's come out nicely. I still need to tweak the wingtips and helm a bit but for the most part it's finished.
I won't be making any drastic changes but critiques before I finish up would be welcome.
