So, got into Dragon Age II awhile ago before I start with Inquisition and I'm actually enjoying it so far. What really bothers me when you're playing a mage are people going "You're a mage?!?!!1 :OO" after seeing you participate in a fight. Like the big fucking stick on the back of every "surprise" mage wasn't enough to clue them in.
Yeah I decided to actually finish it this time around so I'd understand the consequences in DA:I (as well as waiting for patches to help improve it a bit), and I like it more than the first time I played it.
Playing through DA:O again and is it me or does the performance complete shit itself during the final part? Getting through the Darkspawn hordes to the Archdemon is a fucking nightmare. The framerate goes fucking bananas and some of the spells just go off whenever they want to rather than right now.

Personally, I think this game probably saved Bioware. Although the fetch quests are boring you can ignore them most of the time. There's just so much content and the story is decent with okay characters. They have their weaker moments but it's an alright bunch. Plus the game has number of "epic" moments that remind me of Origins. Also if you play as a mage GO WITH KNIGHT ENCHANTER. You turn into Gandalf and with specific skills you can kill dragons on your own. I didn't try it with a dragon, just a test with regular enemies and I became invulnerable. How to never lose barrier as Knight Enchanter (spoiled so you can figure it out yourself): [sp]Spirit: Barrier (Elegant Defense)** Guardian Spirit** Strength of Spirits** Winter: Mana Surge** Knight-Enchanter: Spirit Blade (Defending Blade)** Veiled Riposte Combat Clarity Fade Shield** Knight-Protector** ** = This is what makes the build work Activate barrier and spam Spirit Sword.[/sp]

I feel like not going knight enchanter actually because it seems like its such a popular and easy way to cheese the whole game :v:
True, but I like the concept of the spirit sword and and it's great you can create such a combination. I think more traditional mage class is the Rift Mage where you get bunch of high damage spells. I didn't look into Necromancer much so can't really comment on him.
Holding the button for whirlwind doesn't work for me. Maybe if I use a controller... Also storm and rift mage (and to a lesser extent, fire) have some serious synergy. You can (spoilers for people who wanna figure it out for themselves) [sp] suck in everyone to a spot, cast upgraded static cage to add extra damage to everything and keep them in a nice aoe, cast upgraded veilstrike to weaken them all and get massive mana back for damage dealt, upgraded lightning bolt to throw everyone into the edges of the cage which damages and paralyzes them, then throw out some immolates and anything else you got that's AOE.[/sp]
Should I get digital deluxe edition or the regular one?
Where the godamn fuck is the book vendor in Val Royeaux? its the last thing i need before becoming a templar.
Should I get digital deluxe edition or the regular one?
Regular. Really no need to get Digital Deluxe. Also, Prima has a really awesome eGuide for DA:I just came out for 9.99$ http://www.primagames.com/games/dragon-age-inquisition/guides/dragon-age-inquisition-eguide/
Where the godamn fuck is the book vendor in Val Royeaux? its the last thing i need before becoming a templar.
iirc, the quest icon is hidden underneath one of those merchant icons.
Found a unique sword. [t]http://i.minus.com/i9qXvZEHc8B6I.png[/t]
I know I'm asking for a second time but is there ultimate armor like in DA2? The one that is basically in every promo image. Or just the helmet.
so much content fuck Which I appreciate, I guess. But I'm finding it hard to juggle other games at the moment. Dragon age god damn you!
Why can't I romance [sp]Hawke[/sp]? :( It would be very odd but also hilarious. We posting Inquisitors? [t]http://i.imgur.com/ibTCVE6.jpg[/t] he's like laurence fishburne with mike tyson's tattoo and he is going to demolish cass, mark my words
Are there any good let's plays/videos to get an idea of how this plays? All the ones I've found have retarded players who seem to have never played a video game before.
I'm starting Dragon Age II I'll try to keep an open mind and ignore the shit storm that took place back then
I'm starting Dragon Age II I'll try to keep an open mind and ignore the shit storm that took place back then
good luck you'll have to try pretty hard to like it
good luck you'll have to try pretty hard to like it
i liked it :(
good luck you'll have to try pretty hard to like it
I started Dragon Age II not so long ago and I'm actually really enjoying it. It's probably because I'm easy to please, but I don't really see a lot of the things that people complain about aside from the dumbed down combat and repeated levels.

I kinda enjoyed da2, didnt like going back to the same 4 places over and over again though.
The hate on DA2 actually helped me enjoy it. I knew nothing about it, only the hate, and although I saw the flaws it was far from the worst game ever. A huge disappointment compared to Origins though.
i pre ordered dragon age 2 and was kind of enjoying it even though i didn't like the weird wave-based fights and that one fucking cave you go through tens of times. but then bam, 30 hours later i had finished the main quest and realised that the story was garbage and the only good thing in the game was varric.
Dragon's sure have a shit load of health.

Is there a way to change what you wear around [sp]Skyhold[/sp]?
Glad to see I'm not the only one going back and playing through the old ones. I finished Origins for the first time last night, and I'm probably going to start Awakening in a day or two (want to try out some of the other DLC first). I'm weirdly looking forward to playing 2 all the way through for the first time, despite having full comprehension of the shitshow to come.
I don't get why everyone hates the DA:2 characters. The only ones that annoyed me was Anders because his backstory made almost no sense and he had as much emotion as a Qunari, and Ser Elfenstein or whatever his name was because he was probably the biggest Mary Sue I had ever met. Merrill was alright, and I found Isabella to be fairly funny and enjoyable to chat with.
